Root [Rom][5-26-12]Broken Out Spectrum 3.0 w/ Blitzkrieg Kernel

Two things,
First ZEAM launcher is very snappy, as it is 1/5 to 1/10 the size of any other. I am using it on broken out 3and it is only missing a few features of the others.

Second, there is an update for Swype, I've had two different ones, one I clicked on in the notification bar and it downloaded immediately, I think it was yesterday or the day before. Then I had another one today that when I clicked on it in the notification bar, it took me to the Swype beta website. Thankfully I have a Swype beta account, I downloaded it and it installed a new installer, then a new Swype.

The new Swype beta has word prediction and handwriting recognition. I have not tried the handwriting recognition but the word prediction only seems to show up if you touch a suggested word, or the space bar. It works ok, and seems to get better the more I use it (I did give it access to my email and text messages to learn.but did not give it access to Twitter or Facebook).

I'm running FTL launcher and it has picked up the speed a little, but youtube is still laggy and selecting things takes 2-3 touches on the screen. Again I'm stumped by this, my ancient Thunderbolt FLEW compared to the Spectrum and it has much worse specs.

get a replacement. You shouldnt have ot touch things several times for them to work. there is one thing about the spec I have noticed though. when you go to press something make sure to tap it quickly. If you press it slowly it doesnt seem to work.

And as far as youtube goes, mine runs fine with no lag at all. You definitely have something going on.

I went to my local Verizon store and used the display Spectrum and got lag using youtube, as well as the same overall slow performance. The screen is really whats keeping the Spec in my pocket and not using my upgrade for the G SIII, also I think Samsung phones have terrible built quality. I'm hoping ICS is the answer to all these problems!

ICS should help for sure. And you are smart for holding onto your upgrade. There are some really amazing phones due out this fall. and by amazing I mean 5in 1080p displays

Me 2, no LTE here in NH yet . I like the Spectrum I guess I just got used to my Bolt for so long that I probably would find anything to bitch about no matter what phone I got. I don't wanna loose my unlimited data becuase I use about 5 GB per month, so unless I upgrade in the next 7 days, I'll have to buy my phones outright

That's an app issue, not the phone/rom. YouTube runs poorly on my other phones too.

I must be one lucky guy because I don't get hardly any of the issues I hear people complaining about on these threads.

youtube runs great for me on 3g with 1-2 signal bars. Things respond when I touch them first try. phones hardly ever reboots on me. I can run restores of over 100 apps without a hitch and no app errors afterwards. I don't get force closes except with rom toolbox pro. The lag I experience is very minimum and only occurs on rare occasions. My phone typically runs very cool. I get good battery life. And I can run @ 1.8ghz without a hitch.

I'm not bragging I'm just saying me and hollywood and perhaps a few others must be the only few people who got proper working phones and 90+ percent of the spectrums sold are defective. lol YAY for us!

your phone hardly ever reboots, mine almost never reboots.... yea im braggin... lmao

im in the same as you 1.8ghz no issues, no reboots, stays cool, mass app retore w/ data with no issues. I dont have RTB pro, but free never gave me issues. I am really starting to think there was a huge bach of defective phone released, possibly to nonverizon store suppliers. I know Neph had mentioned the possibility of devices release with bad chipsets at one point in time.

you got yours directly though verizon didnt you carmen?

I'm in the same boat... been running 3.0 now since it came out. Have had 1 reboot (and that was me testing an app I wrote). 1.8ghz, lagfree, mass app restore with data... I'm quite happy. :)

THANK YOU ALL!!!! :D

I saw all your posts and set my cpu to 1.8 and NO MORE LAG!!!!

I'm on stock battery, will running my spec on 1.8 get me much worse battery life?

really depends on what governer you use, IMO. I run the conservative governer OC'd to 1.8GHz. 24 hours is cake walk for me, I usually charge around the same time everyday at work. Battery is normall in that 50%-60% area when I do. It seems like running the lagfree, ondemand, and oerfirmace governers do tend to use a little more battery, but the perfomance increae is amazing. Personally i am ok with the tid bit of lag i get when i first turn my screen on with the conservative gov. I can always change to lagfree and will change sometime when i know i am going to need the performance. Ultimately though as long as your screen is on your going to be draining your battery at a decent rate no matter what cpu speed and governer.

Is there any word on what's being worked on for future BO releases? I am really digging this ROM, and I use it with Go Launcher, and even with all the bells and whistles, it still is very snappy. I just have that pesky overheating issue when I use the camera a lot (especially Instagram and EyeEM)

I'm not speaking for mt but I'm guessing that everyone is waiting for ICS and that none of the GB roms are going to be updated anymore.

I want to be in the no problems club. I was so nervous about flashing BO, but I have not had one reboot and all my apps are working great! Very happy with the phone. Now my girlfriend has little issues here and there...don't tell her but I think it may be operator error! :)

I currently own a Revolution - my Spectrum should arrive sometime next week. Based on the chatter in the LG Revo forum on XDA, MT is working on an updated ROM for the Revo (based on the latest OTA bugfix update). I believe that's only because someone sent him their phone to use for the development.

MT's ROMs (for the Revo) have been great! He saved me from flushing my phone down the toilet!

Help!

I am suddenly getting notices of my phone wanting to update! This is odd as I have been on this ROM (v2) at least a month now and never seen and update notice.
This ROM doesn't block it? How do I go bout doing that?

I just voted this thread as the best on the site. Y'all have been very helpful and this ROM still rocks!
