Root [Rom][5-26-12]Broken Out Spectrum 3.0 w/ Blitzkrieg Kernel

I hope the 2.3.6 lg update fixes the constant java exceptions and fcs for runtime errors. The random rebooting issue would be nice to have resolved too... It happens rarely with this rom, but constantly with the stock. I haven't been able to get a logcat to see what's causing the reboots.

Thats strange I never get force closes nor reboots with the stock. I've been running for 3 days without a random reboot. Not that I had one 3 days ago (or ever) but that was just the last time I restarted my phone. I find that the stock rom runs great once configured properly. I would like to have a custom rom though. But I'm patiently waiting for a proper one to be released.

I've been very impressed with how this phone runs SPB shell...which is flawlessly! I used to hate that launcher when I ran it on my charge because it lagged and would redraw all the time. But I've been running SPB on my spectrum for at least 4 or 5 days now and it hasn't lagged at all in anyway. Always runs smooth, and i haven't noticed any glitches or bugs yet.

I did run V6 supercharger with option 9 and the bulletproof launcher script and that really made a difference as well. Anyone who hasn't tried out v6 on the spectrum (or on any phone) I would really recommend looking into it. I've had a decent amount of experience with it and I must say that it works wonders for a phone. It may be why I'm getting such smooth running with the stock rom as most people that use it report huge increases in performance when running stock roms.

Can I ask what is not "proper" about this one? Also, this rom has every tweak that v6 has in it just not packaged in some fancy shell script for you to run and have a file with full all out do whatever it wants permissions running on your phone.

I ended up running V6 last night to see what all the hoopla was about and I can say I am not really impressed. Yeah, your phone may run a little smoother, but almost any time you clear out your cache, you will get a similar effect. I also did not like how much extra power my phone went thru. On stock MT's rom, I can get thru an hour on my game with about 10% battery usage. With V6 I went thru 10% in around 20min. Definitely can't have that unless I want to be tied to a charger all day. Script came off this morning and I doubt it will be going back on.

I didn't mean to offend you michael. I just meant without the few bugs I ran into with it. Like the speaker being low. The icons in the status bar overlapping the clock, and the multiple forces I got with several aps I run a lot. (plus I really don't like the center clock feature and found it difficult to get used to it. and then once I saw the status bar icons overlapped it I really started to hate it)

Its a great first release and I'm not bashing your rom at all. And it does run faster than stock right out of the box. I just need one that doesn't have the issues I experienced is all I'm saying.

And neph. I'm not sure what you are talking about but there is no reason why v6 should eat your battery. I get amazing battery life with my spectrum running v6 with the stock rom. I also ran v6 on michaels rom and it does work on it as well.

Ex. On michaels rom with v6, once I had all my apps installed and everything setup I would typically have around 250-300MB of free ram and with v6 installed using option 9 and option 13 with the bullet proof launcher I had 375-450MB of free ram and a much smoother experience.

I'm very confused as to how v6 could have been eating up your battery though.

@ michael. What are the memory management settings with your rom? And does your rom lock the launcher into memory so as to prevent redraws? thanks for reply.

Did any of you dl Rom Manager and install CWM from that direction? I installed CWM from the "one click" thread on here, but I don't know how to get into it and start my backup and flash my rom? I am sure the one click process went successful, and I am 100% I am rooted.

Once i go into Rom Manager it tells me to go flash CWM and the LG Spectrum is not on the available list. Does AT&T Nitro work?

Go into rom manager & click on reboot into recovery thats how you can get into the recovery

That may have done it for me.

I'd like to back it up first. But when i click backup current rom it tells me I must have CWM installed first?

Our recovery is not officially listed on CWM Manager, hence why it is not on the download list. CWM Manager's only use at this point is the "reboot into recovery" option. Once in recovery you can choose to do backup/restore of your phone.

Thanks! That was all I needed to know. Might be a good note should someone else have my question. I'm used to interfacing in the app. That allowed me to finish up and flash rom!

I can reboot in recovery with this ROM Manager it tells me I must install CWM but it is installed does any body have any info that would be useful for me on re booting into recovery the only way I have been able to do so is through command line. Thanks have a great day!!

Barretth, are you clicking on any other button other then "reboot into recovery"? From what it sounds like, you are trying to click on another button like backup and restore. The only thing the "reboot into recovery" should say is a little confirmation box and then a reboot as the button is tied to a simple script much like adb reboot recovery would do.

Get the root tools.app from market. It has a reboot recovery option on it and it works just as well. You can also change the fonts with it. Rom toolbox is another good one.

Yep. Rtb has a custom shortcut for rebooting that I use instead of the rom method.

First of, thank you so much for your hard work. This room opened my eyes to this phones true potential, which is massive. I'm truly not trying to complain here but I would just like to address a problem that no one else seems to have mentioned. I use a pair of klipsch s4a headphones and ever since I switched to your ROM the built in microphone on the headphones no longer works. I've tried redownloading the ROM, reinstalling it and no avail. I've tried the headlines on other phones and it works flawlessly. also, I use the miui music player and it is no longer functional on this ROM. It force closes constantly. As well as power amp. I hope this information helps to make things better and keep up the good work, looking forward to what's next

We seem to have an issue with beats audio on our hardware. Most everything that uses audio is affected. The next version of broken out wool either have a fixed beats, or beats will be removed.

Thanks for this ROM, much better than stock! I was also having issues with n7player force closing so thanks for explaining that. PlayerPro (without the DSP pack) has been working fine though, so might be an option until it's fixed!

I see 2 libs with 'beats' in the name. Are there any more libs associated with beats?

There is a lot. I have been waiting on the update from Verizon but it is taking to long lol. I will update here in a couple of days. Things have been crazy, both of my girls started softball last week and between the both of them have not been home much.
