Root [Rom][5-26-12]Broken Out Spectrum 3.0 w/ Blitzkrieg Kernel

ear piece is quiet as well. For sure. I returned to stock after using the rom for several days and the speaker and earpiece are much louder on stock.

ty im not crazy... lmao

LOL no problem man. It's one of the reasons I had to return to stock, I use my speaker phone all the time.

I'm not a big fan of bluetooth as i think it looks silly walking around with one in your ear, and I don't like having the phone to my head for long periods of time, so I always use speaker phone. Therefore I had to return to stock until michael gets it sorted. But while I was using the rom, I was forced to use the ear piece (as I could hardly hear anything on my speaker) and I noticed how low it seemed..but I wasn't 100 percent sure if it was the rom or the phone because i had read some reviews where people said the ear piece was quiet.

But I had no way to compare because I put michaels rom on my phone about 3 hours after I got it, and had yet to make a phone call on it. Once I returned to stock I noticed how much louder everything was. Even using the TTS in moon reader pro. I actually have to turn down the volumes a tick from max because it breaks up a bit because it's too loud for the hardware to handle.

Though I do looked forward to an updated breakout, and other roms that should be coming out for this phone, I'm really just waiting for ICS. It's going to be nice to experience a whole new interface and OS. I'm rather sick of gingerbread...been using it for 10 months now :/

Has anyone tried Volume+ from the market (play store) to increase the volume of things on broken out? I haven't tried it but the galaxy nexus has terribly low volume and that app increases the volume.

if anyone checks it out, try getting it from the dev's web site

I'm getting random reboot aleast 4 to 5 times a day. Its happens when backing out of an app or unlocking.

That's not unique. I got it far more on stock, so I believe it's the lg version of android to blame. I'm trying to track down the cause of the reboots, but haven't had a good logcat of one yet.

Has anyone had any problems with their contacts? With mine the facebook statuses and pictures never update. Also the history tab and photos tab on each specific contact does not work - it just sits there like it is updating but it never does.

Any ideas?

maybe you and others just use your phone differently than I do but I hardly ever get reboots. I've had maybe 2 or 3 in the over 2 weeks I've had the phone. (which all smartphones reboot time to time as far as I know) and it's not normal to get 4 or 5 reboots a day on even any for that matter. You either have a defective phone or are unaware how to configure it properly. I know that if I was getting that many reboots I would be replacing my phone with a new one.

your post just reminds me of someone who complains about windows being a crap OS and when I look at their configuration they have 50 startup programs running and 5 browser hijacker toolbars running.

Certain apps can cause issues while running in conjunction with other apps. There are many things that can cause issues. My overall point is LG didn't release a phone that randomly reboots 5 times a day. If yours or anyone elses is doing that, then I would look into a new phone, or start trouble shooting whats causing it....which you did say you are doing. But My cousin, and I both have spectrums rooted with CWM and the stock rom, and neither of us have this issue.

Easy tiger, you don't need to be condescending; I'm not a noob.

I'm well aware the reboots are probably from apps causing fatal debugging errors, but the issue never happened on and of my droids or roms on those droids, so it's likely this skinned version of android. I've found a few apps not jive with this phone and throw errors in the logcats, but I haven't seen a logcat yet where the phone rebooted on its own, which it does occasionally, to see what's causing the problem.

I've been running my extreme shrunk down version of Broken Out, since I posted my blog page with all the downloads (two weeks now?). And I have had one random restart of my phone, this past Wednesday. I just finished check my mail and for updates on this forum, turned the screen off and set it down (it was plugged into a 2.1amp wall charger, but not sure if I plugged it in before using it, while using it, or after I set the phone down.) It was not 10 seconds before I saw the boot up animation. On the screen.

Sorry! I wasn't trying to act that way. I was actually just sharing my thoughts. I should have placed a few smileys in my post to show my attitude was not condescending. Sorry i made it seem like i had an attitude though.

How often do you guys manually restart your phone? Does it need an occasional restart? This is my first Android phone.

It depends. If you notice your phone is starting to lag really bad then I would restart it. If it's running smooth then I don't see a need to. Also if you have some issue with an app or something in your settings then a restart can sometimes cure it.

No worries :)

As to the rebooting question, I usually do it every day or so. It's not necessary but it clears out the memory and let's you get a fresh system to work with.

On the stock room for my HTC Evo, I would restart it about once every 45 days normally because I was out without a charger and the battery was under 20%, after touting my Evo I restated about once every 10-20 days, as mentioned previously, when it started to lag or generally run slower than normal.

My LG I have only restated once for the sake of restarting it, since I first bought it March 10th, and about 50 times while ROM testing, and about 15 or so times due to random reboots. Just about to hit 10 days since the last ROM I flashed, and no issues to report. I do know a few people that power off every Sunday night, to start "fresh" each week on Monday morning.

Yea, since Android/Linux works differently than Windows/iOS, rebooting isn't really necessary, but can be useful when you want to close all your apps and dump the RAM. I do it sometimes when I see ADW is taking up 45+mb of memory, rather than killing it. I figure if ADW is taking up more memory than it should, other apps probably are too. Rebooting re-aligns everything and gets apps back to a more acceptable level of memory use.

Try volume + from the market. I believe the paid version it's available on the dev's web site. I use it on my nexus and it works

i havent heard anyone fixing the low speaker issue with volume+

Let us know if it works. I had to return to stock because of this issue as well and the dev said he would be updating the rom to fix the few bugs in it but hasn't yet. I check here everyday to see if it's been updated but he doesn't seem to be in any rush. If I were you I would go back to stock and then get the eclipse rom when it comes out which should be very soon as the dev announced 2 days ago he would have one released very soon.

I had a random reboot today, about 40 minutes ago. I was using my phone with easy tether on my PC, broke the connection from my computer, then disconnected the phone and when I unplugged the cable, the screen did not turn on like normal when you connect or disconnect the USB cable.

About 30 seconds later, the LG logo popped up, now my phone has a really short up time... :-(
