Root [Rom][5-26-12]Broken Out Spectrum 3.0 w/ Blitzkrieg Kernel

mrb how do you get that kinda battery life... am i just missing something? im lucky for mine to last 5 hours without charging it... this morning i unplug it.. and with normal usage it drops to around 75-80 within a hour... with juice defender.. lte off.. brightness less than half...

this phone is just amazing me at how everything i try to do to make it last longer kills it faster... i used to use my fascinate overclocked at 1.5ghz and never seen a full charge last less than 8 hours...

I would like to see what others are getting on antutu with this rom. Very impressive work michael.

Are you planning on building a custom overclockable kernel as well? I would really love to ability to overclock this phone because it runs so cool I know it has plenty of room.

Look close at the pic lol. Got it overclocked to 1.728ghz right now! Now, these dual core phones are pickier with overclocking, so not sure how high I can take it.

how didst thou get it overclocked? are you sitting on some secret lab built kernel you are holding for yourself alone!?! :(

Are you running any sort of CPU settings program (SetCPU, Romtoolbox, etc)? If so, try changing to the "On Demand" governor. Most kernels will default to performance unless specified by a program or in the original build settings and that will cause your CPU to be at full blast all the time. I can tell you that I get comparable time to Mr.B with some simple tweaks, like having the CPU limiter go down by half with screen off.

im using voltage control... out of habit... and its set to ondemand 1512 max 384 min.... no profiles... running popcorn 1.0 ive tried running it at 1026 or 1292 and it doesnt change the battery life any... ive got setcpu running on my dads with profiles set to drop the cpu at battery levels and when the screens off... he uses it maybe a total of 2 hours a day and his only lasts about 8 hours with it stock rooted..... i love the phone.. i just hate my battery life

The stock kernel does theoretically have performance set for the stock governor but in reality LG actually sets the governor to ondemand after boot so what the kernel is set to doesn't really matter lol.

I really tweak my system to do what I want and run the following:
-I set the conservative governor
-I control ALL apps to not update if the screen is off
-I run Juice Defender with these settings (note I keep wifi on... if you have it turning on and off, you'll actually use more battery):

-I go into airplane mode from 11pm to 6am

I can easily get 11 hours on a heavy use day with those all together.
 
ok I just flashed to the new updated rom. I havent been on it long and havent really tested it much yet but so far it's running smooth. Just one thing I must say which I brought up before. The center clock is killing me for 2 reasons.

1 it feels out of place just sitting out there by itself, I don't get why anyone likes it. (but I knew before flashing it it was this way and it's really not that big of a deal, but number 2 is)

2 it's still being overlapped by icons and is very annoying.

I haven't donated to you yet michael so please forgive me for complaining. I do plan on doing so when i can since if for nothing else your all in one root and recovery package is killer and I've used it on 2 phones. I really do appreciate your work man. And without you and other devs I wouldn't even have root or recovery since I have no clue how to develop, nor the time to learn since I run my own furniture building business and should be in bed now because I have a table to build tomorrow. But I do know that most devs like to hear back from those who use their products. So I'm giving you mine. I cant' be alone on this but I think most are scared to seem picky and ungrateful.

Would it be possible for you to add something similar to TSM parts in a future update? Or at least release a version of the rom with the clock to the far right like normal? Please don't get upset by this post because I'm am grateful for your work. Thanks
 
wow michael you are on a roll here :P

I just downloaded 1.1 last night and here it is the next morning and I'm downloading 1.2 :D

But I can't resist overclocking capabilities
 
Just flashed v1.2 while on the charger ... wow charge speed has increased tremndously 45% in about 45 minutes. Seems like before it was about 25% in an hour. Good work !!!

edit: Also what is ZRAM Swap?
 
you are the man michael. This phone is beast now with your rom and kernel. I overclocked to 1836mhz and ran antutu and got 6827. Not the score you got but as you know many settings can affect that number. I just know it's way higher than the 4875 I had before :P

For some reason my SD write speed was only 2.2 MB/s. And of course thats not right, so I need to mess around and see whats up with that. I had my cache set to 2048kb and that might be why. I'll play around with the phone tonight after work and see if I can increase my score :P

how are you overclocking the gpu michael? I'm not able to figure that mystery out...

I know I'm a noob and I figured I would be able to use an app :P But none seem to support it because your kernel isn't recognized by them. thanks

It is not adjustable. I set the clock speeds higher.
 
on antutu im getting 1512MHz for my cpu still. Also i noticed that the build number is still 1.1, but i do have the Terminal Emulater. The Kernal Version is BlitzKrieg changed from popcorn. I have done a couple reboots since flashing.

What did you use to change cpu speed?
