Root [ROM][ALPHA][5.1.1] Dirty Unicorns 4/29/2015

I spoke too soon, just had a crash in gmail. I'll try one of the other methods.
 
After dealing with my tribute for almost 2 months with no updates on Lollipop development (Thanks to LG) other than the 1st and only build available with a broken camera (Kernel issues) and hundreds of memory leaks. i decided to return to my trusty awe. Running Cm12.1 on it perfectly at first, but about 4 hours ago, all hell broke loose. I spent an hour trying to partition my 64GB SD Card with Aparted, which wouldn't work because Aparted couldn't locate it, but CM found it just fine. I tried fixing the random app crashes (Mainly with facebook) with the methods provided here and they didn't work. While i figured out what the issue was i decided to unbrick my tribute and give it to my cousin, so i downloaded a nandroid backup on my awe, but couldn't move it to my SD Card. Why? What do ya know, Root browser kept crashing every 10 seconds out of nowhere. Tried other file managers too and they kept crashing as well. CM File manager wouldn't even load up. So i booted into TWRP and tried a factory reset but it threw me random errors. Unable to mount Data etc. Rebooted the phone and tried to factory reset through the settings menu. The awe then booted to the TWRP splash logo and it kept bootlooping at the logo, and wouldn't go any further. Never seen anything like this before. I pulled the battery and manually booted into TWRP and once again it kept bootlooping at the logo. Rebooted the phone and it boots up fine. Everything still works besides the app crashes. So now i have no clue what to do now smh TWRP seems to be broken and the app crashes are still alive and well alongside it

The mount errors seem to be a common problem with the latest twrp but don't cause any issues. What did you do before you flashed? Did you do a full wipe with formatting data? If so did you restart twrp? Are you on the latest version? Did you try checking the md5 or flashing another ROM?

As for the issue with the sd formatting it would probably be best to format on the computer because of the way lollipop does the external drive. Most apps only see the internal due to the emulated storage. Best advice would be to do a full wipe, make sure all files match md5's, and reflash *even twrp just to be safe*.

I flashed Cm12.1 when it was first released on this thread. I remember coming from kitkat. I did a full wipe without touching format data. I didn't use the awe because i was on my tribute, i just wanted to see the improvements with CM12.1. Sat the awe back in the drawer and picked it back up early this morning. Switched my account back to it and everything has been fine other than the app crashes. TWRP was working fine until the phone started bugging out when i was i trying to move a file from internal to external. I feel like doing a factory reset made matters worse. I was gonna try and reinstall TWRP using the rashr app, do a full wipe and just flash dirty unicorns, but basketbuild is down and thats the only site TWRP is hosted on atm. I'll partition my SD on my computer later on. btw, i don't think i'm using the latest version. It's been awhile since i've been on this thread. Yeah I see basketbuild is down. Wish I still had the files so I could send them to you but just did a full wipe of my computer. Sure it will be back up later. Hopefully updating to the latest twrp will help a lot of your problems. This phone is pretty robust but seems like sometimes you need multiple flashes to get things working.

Yea you're right, i don't mind waiting. The phone is still working so i'll resist booting into recovery until basketbuild is back up

Try using toatle commander never crashes don't use fb app use fb through an browser like opera for android what I use and have no ishues

Not the same its better using the app picture viewing is better zoom it in
