Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

Is this true? Doing a full wipe and clean install can cause problems? I always thought it was the other way around: a full wipe/clean install is always fine, but upgrading the rom without wiping can occasionally cause issues, depending on what was changed.

You read that wrong. I was saying not doing a complete wipe can cause issues. You have to read the quote I was responding to for it to make sense. Your understanding was correct, but the person I was responding to didn't want to lose their settings/data.

I will edit my post to clarify what I was trying to say.

Hey, do any of you guys also have the choppiness while swiping through home screens on almost every launcher? I thought ICS was going to GPU-accelerate the home screen?

Also, is there any way to fix the lighting on the soft keys? Settings crashes on me every time I try to go in to the edit brightness levels screen.

Thanks!

Ics isnft running at its full potntial right now. Once the 3.0 kernel gets ported then a lot of things will be fixed. A lot of problems are also because cm9 isn't completely finished so there are still bugs in that...

for some reason chrome beta isn't working for me on 5.1 web pages don't load.. ill try loading 6.0 and see what happens..

Has anyone had issues with the BT Pairing? Mine Paired fine, but after disconnecting, it did not recognize my Bluetooth again without re-pairing from scratch. I remember this same issue with CM7 that Isaac and TG had to adjust.

Thanks again Guys for making this phone what it is now!

I haven't had that happen (at least not yet). I've been in and out of my car a few times today and it's re-connected fine.

I just upgraded and didn't do a clean wipe I just cleared my dalvik and GPS seems to be working as the gpsfix app could find sattelites but its too cold to stand and wait for a pinpoint.. damn wind chill...

Down here in Florida, it found my locale in about 5 minutes the first time. GPS seems to work better if I connect with a Wifi connection first, then go by satellites alone. It takes 1-2 minutes for a good link now.

Im on ALPHA 0.5.1.2 with a Huawei X6 u9000

Market gives me server error, I have tried to he flash the Google apps package several times.

Seems like there is a bug with the "back button" its acting strange or is this a feature.?

I can see some of you are using proxies for Google voice, can you recommend some?

Thanks for a nice build :-)

im still wondering why drivers cant be moved from stock build to a cm build without any hassle?

Im now on ALPHA 0.6.0 with a Huawei X6 u9000

Doesn't seem to help on my Market "server error" wifi is working fine when web browsing...
Any ideas how to fix this?

There is also a bit lag when going from the front screen to the program list.

else the build is cool.

I haven't kept up with the last few pages but I just had my data stop working twice today after while the screen is off. I haven't experienced it up to this point because I was using juice defender which turns off data when the screen is off. I remember that there was the same problem with cm7, isaac and tickerguy got it fixed though.

Ive been using an app that was posted here that keeps data alive. Working great so far. It automatically cycles airplane mode to get data back up.

my data turns itelf off too but I don't use Juice defender. This was on the 0.52 release. I loaded the 0.6 update this morning and so far so good.

Hope the lockup and data freezes will stop as otherwise this alpha is quite usable. The ringtone bug is still there as it always defaults to the default ringtone even when a contact has a different one assigned. This was the same bug in CM7. Not a big deal but hope it will be resolved in CM9

I am someone who heavily relies on the USB Tethering functionality from TickerGuy's CM7 build. Is that a feature in this build? Thank you!

I looked through the whole thread and I can't find a link to this Apex Launcher everyone is talking about. Can I just google it or is it easily found in the market?

So with Wifi on (nothing else), my phone lasted 4.5 hours on a full charge and this ROM. I wasn't using it very much, in fact it was just sitting on my desk with maybe one or two 5 minute calls. No major modifications, though I am running 400mhz low/1400mhz hi for overclocking purposes. How is everyone else's battery life so far on this ROM?

Wifi kills the battery life because it is pegging the processor. If you read back a few pages, Whyzor fixed it by deleting a specific file. The fix will be built into 0.6.1

Read the op.

I did read the OP and I know it doesn't mention tethering and the conclusion would be that it doesn't work, but I thought that perhaps it just wasn't considered important enough to put under the Working list. I would appreciate it if someone would confirm whether this is the case before I upgrade, however.

It doesn't work.
