Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

There's a thread talking about it... Let me find it for you.

Here: http://androidforums.com/triumph-al...g-reloaded-latest-02-02-a-24.html#post3903321 5th and 6th post on that page. There is a mod, but I don't know if it works, nor do I personally care. You can try it if you want to though.

These are unrelated problems. I am not even using the default MMS service (to my knowledge)- GO SMS Pro is handling the sending. What you linked to is someone trying to send email through the stock messaging app.

Does go sms pro use a different way of sending it? Can it send larger mms or what? I have never used it so idk. I know the stock app has like a 200kb limit or something.

Yes, it allows larger MMSs to be sent. The same APN settings (in GO SMS Pro) used in CM7 no longer work in CM9 to allow larger photos to be sent. Either VM changed their server-side handling at the time I switched to CM9, GO SMS Pro acts differently in CM9/ICS, or there's some interaction between GO SMS Pro and CM9/ICS that's preventing it.

I'll try other SMS/MMS apps in the market that allow sending-size changes and see if I have any success over 200KB.

Edit: I found the problem. It was my fault... see my first post a few back for an explanation.

actually 3g seems to be better than with cm7, I use tune in radio on my way to work. with cm7 , it lost signal 3 to four times in my 45 mile drive, today and yesterday I lost it only once each day both at the same spot

I've had zero problems since the .6.3 update. The usual stuff is not working, but whatever, not the point. I'm quite happy with the 3g now, seeing that it's not cutting out. I think there has to be something weird with either the install, or how it was done to other's phones. There are complaints of 3g issues, but its still ALPHA. Best bet is to stay on CM7 until the ROM is officially Beta.

Here's how I did the first install of .5.0 alpha:

Recovery, Backup my CM7 setup/build, wipe /data (yes ONLY data), flashed ROM and Gapps from OP. Restored Apps ONLY with TiBackup. Then went back to games and such to restore data for the games (can't be loosing my place now).

All apps and data since the .5.0 build have been-- Recovery, Flash ROM (NO WIPE- none at all), Flash Gapps right after, Reboot. Everything has worked fine, no real major issues to speak of. If you flash Gapps before booting the first time, you shouldn't have to re-input all your information (I didn't).

2 things I can't seem to adjust, on the lockscreen, menu unlocks the screen and u can pull down the note bar on the lock screen. I don't like either one of those cuz I could accidentally do something stupid ie butt dial my boss while I'm talking shizz about em. So any suggs would be mos def apreeshed.

When you say no major issues you don't mean camera or voice commands Correct? Cause cameras kinda critical atleast in my work

And those are known to not be working. If you need either of those, there are plenty of other ROMs that have them working.

i finally made it from cm7 to cm9. thanks to all the devs

btw is there any way to have more toggle options for the power widget like on cm7?
i used to toggle mobile data frequently.

yup. All the basic essentials work. You can make calls, text, and get data. The basics. Camera is being worked on.

System settings>system>notification drawer

sorry i meant the power control widget that you can place on the screens.

Also if it's not too much asking can you add some sort of file manager along the preloaded apps. I back up with titanium and have the apk on sdcard, so it will be faster to swap information in between flashing.

I realize that he stated it like everything was working. Did I forget Hdmi?
The usual stuff is not working, but whatever, not the point.

I took it as him saying that whatever was said to be working was fine on his end, and he didn't have any issues with things like data that others had reported. I mean it is right there in the post you were commenting about.

Regardless the devs know what isn't working. Repeating that the camera/voice commands/hdmi don't work isn't doing any good. It's an alpha build (and in great shape for that), if you want everything (including HDMI/camera/etc) to work then it isn't a ROM to use on a daily basis.

if you're coming from CM9 there is no need to wipe between flashes.

Just download one from the market there are plenty of them there.

I don't see the point to it when you have access to the widget power controls in your status bar but yes, its there. Open your app drawer, click on the Widgets tab. They are sorted alphabetically, so it will likely be close to the last page.

Big up to the Devs. Camera really is the only thing keeping me on CM7, so once this nice baby moves to Beta, I will be more than happy to help with bug reporting. Keep up the good work guys, I'm very impressed and happy!

There are no settings for the widget as of yet.
