If you are talking about the gapps fixer and the newer gapps packages, I would say that it does not fix these problems. I am not sure about the gps because I very seldom use it. I can't say that it is slower to locate or not.

The gapps fixer allowed me to connect by wifi when I couldn't before, but it sometimes registers the wifi signal to be weak even when I am only 5 feet from my own wifi modem.

My guess would be that the newest gapps with or without the gapps fixer will not fix these issues for you.
 
hi guys i'm a first time rooter and i'm sure i missed something in the how tos but i'm having a little trouble and thought you might could help. i got cwm installed got the zip file and got the root working but

--now my calendar is clear and i've lost all contacts except for facebook. when i go to the menu add account i get my gmail account. i only get hotmail, facebook, and corporate account

--contacts, see calendar

--i can't get the play store(until a week ago app store) to work everytime i click on it, it flashes a gray screen like it's trying to open then goes right back home.

any help with these issues would be great. also what would be the best way to go back to factory defaults if i can't get this thing working with cm9?

It sounds like you forgot to flash gapps. Go back to the first post And you can find the link to download the google apps. Flash it in CWM and then all of your problems should be fixed.

did a reset and got gapp

found a new issue. i can't login to tweetdeck. both the app and online say invalid password although i know password is valid checked it several times. from twitter support site: https://support.twitter.com/articles/20169404-im-having-trouble-logging-in-to-twitter-for-android
as best i can guess there is something wrong with date/time or there is something going on with SSL certificates. please confirm by reproducing error with tweetdeck app and/or tweetdeck website.

twitter itself is working fine but so annoying having two separate apps for twitter/facebook.

although come to think of it I'm probably doing something wrong again. is there some option in settings I need to check?

I think the GPS wasn't locking on as fast and signal wasn't as strong because it was a cloudy day. MIUI usually locks on and received signals (in GPS Test) in the 40's but it wasn't as strong so I determined the cloudy skies were causing it.

As far as Wi-Fi, MIUI at my work would pick up full bars or near it, but I'd get 1 bar on this build, not sure why.
 
maybe someone already posted this, but I thought I would let people know I updated to the newest version of gapps (3-17) on this rom and have had no issues.

There is nothing within the settings that would change that from what I know. I had the same problem. I worked around it by logging into my Tweetdeck online, adding my accounts, and then going into the app. It then synced all of my accounts. I know they are starting to change the Tweetdeck app very soon and maybe they are running into server issues.

For now, just do the work around I just mentioned.

I also am still having some issues with the call volume. It is super low when someone calls me. I DID however notice that it went away when I killed the DSP Manager Service. Maybe someone can confirm it? I still have some issues with the Audio driver. It skips and such when the screen is off. But I barely notice it now because it does it very rarely.

i tried that same work around a few times before i posted previously. turns out i was using the wrong email address :P i haven't made or recieved any calls yet or listened to any music. but if i experience these issues i'll mess around with and probably ultimately kill dspmanager as suggested.

are you loving this keyboard and predictive text as much as i am? 3G working way better too...

I've never noticed the in-call volume to be any different than stock or cm7 or miui.

As for the skipping, I'm assuming that you're listening to music or something of that sort? Have you lowered your clock frequency or are you still running stock frequencies? If you lowered your minimum clock, try raising it higher or back to the defaults. I haven't noticed any skipping when listening to music using the stock player.

if you have a governer that limits your clock freq when your screen is off like interactivex, the music will skip when your screens off

I also occasionally have in-call volume issues. It seems to be somewhat random for me. Sometimes it's fine, other times I can barely hear the person on the other end. I typically text more than talk, so it's not too big of a deal for me.
 
Is there a way to edit the levels of the backlight or turn them off? I've tried going into the settings Display > Automatic Backlight > Edit other levels... But it always says after tapping Edit other levels... "Unfortunately, settings has stopped."

Yes, this is the version that I am using. Didn't mention it by number though. Had to use gapps fixer to make it work. Also having problems with wifi, weak wifi connections. Might be problem with the ROM though - not gapps. In any case, flashing to this version of gapps does not seem to fix the weak wifi issue.
 
Yes, I'm using interactivx. But the call volume issue was only when people called me, not the other way around. I haven't had the issue since i stopped DSP manager. I have my minimum clock freq at 110 And max at 1.6. That's probably the culprit.

I'm guessing there may be something else wrong with your configuration because I didn't have to use gapps fixer to get anything to work (don't even know what that is actually). I just went into CWM, cleared the caches and installed the zip.

It looks like your game is trying access a web console and didn't format the call correctly. I would recommend checking with the game developer. Just google for "Viewport argument value errors" and you'll see a bunch of hits on that type of error.
 
sorry if this is a stupid question, but it looks like removal of stock apps (rom manager in my case) is not enabled. Is there a setting for turning on root access like CM9 is supposed to have, or am I missing something?

You need a file manager app such as ES File explorer or Root manager. Then you can browse to /system/app and delete whatever apk that you want. You just need to grant it root access when Superuser asks for it.

The option to enable/disable root is not in this build yet. It will be included in the next build whenever that is.

Edit: Or just delete whatever apps you don't want from the Zip file before flashing it.
 
I'm watching this thread and was wondering. Does the first post get updated as things get checked off the not working list? I am waiting for the camera to work and was wondering when a new update ever fixes it, will it move from the not working to working list in the first post or do I need to read thru the updates to find out?

I am happy to see people still working on new ROMS!

Don't worry you will know. The title of the thread changes to reflect the most recent date the rom was updated and the current version number. The first post is changed to reflect what is working and not working. The second post is updated with a changelog. On top of that the developer (mantera in this case) usually posts all of this info at the end of the thread.

The most important thing is to not beg or pester for updates (and to make lots of paypal donations! :)). The developers work hard and for little reward so we try good if we can show them as much respect as possible.
 
I am trying to install the CM9 music app that was provided but am having issues. I tried to disable and clear the data from the stock music app but that still didnt let me install it. Any tips?

Replace it using es file explorer (with root enables and system mounted as read/ write) or root explorer (paid app though), and replace the music.apk in /system/app and reboot or replace it in the .zip and flash.
