Root [ROM] Angry Bean / CM 10.1 [build 08.08.13]

You should check if you have 4G enabled. There is a bug few months ago that the log is constantly written and taking up internal storage and possibly the fact that 4G is so limited it is constantly failing to find a connection and attempting to reconnect....

Still getting a glitch with the battery usage. I'll have 60 percent and if I reboot it will then say I'm at 30 percent. Stock battery BTW. Edit..... I then reboot once more and I'm down to 17 percent. Reboot once more but this time into recovery and 4ext says 17 percent as well

I think you need to quit rebooting and just power down and then hold the power button until it turns back on. I use an extended battery and had the exact same issue as you until I quit rebooting.

I know it's a known but that they don't want to fix. I saw it on their website a while back.

My phone history:
Droid1, stock, intercept on brom, triumph on mtdev cm7, bought evo v in may.

On my older VM phones I always had custom roms for performance and higher android versions. I kept stock on this evo until yesterday. Stock with sense was pretty good. I got bored, wanted to try jellybean. It was easier than it looked to install. Paperclip jumping had me scared before.

I'm very impressed with this rom, very stable, fast. I do have a few small problems. One big thing I noticed is battery usage is more than 50 percent more stock when I am using it. Standby seams fine. Battery drain can be a deal breaker. I think i can try to fix it or ask you all for tips.

I strapped myself down and read all the comments on this thread. I'm confused about what hotplug is for. Is that to save battery?

I have an $8 3500mah battery. I love it. It lasted two days on stock. On angry bean it feels like a normal battery. One thing I miss from sense is the recent app icons on the notification drawer. I prefer it over holding home. Does anyone know of a way to get that? Must be an app I somewhere.

I had low volume on my headphones out once, good since then so no worries. My doggcatcher lockscreen controls bug out sometimes. Very minor problem.

TL:DR: thanks devs, and what can I do about bad battery drain?

Also Chairshot215 what happened to that update? Probably got busy at work. Also is there a way to fix the calibration of the touchscreen?

Any reason why MMS doesn't work? Just received a picture msg, and it Chomp won't even give me the option to download it. GoSMS doesn't either.

I tried flashing the MMS fix, and that didn't help at all. Any tips? MMS is pretty much a deal breaker for me. I have to have it.

Use the voice dialer and say "open APN" and make sure Sprint is selected. It wasn't after I flashed this ROM. Works as advertised otherwise!

After formating all partitions and flashing all three files as instructed MMS works. I did try to install fresh and flash the old voice mail app and MMS did not work on this last up date. Are the people with it not working trying to use the old app?

What boot are you running?

1.50. I did the "fix everything," aka joe_blow hacks.

What old app? I flashed the three apps in the OP, according to the guide that Megatoaster wrote.

The old app I'm referring to is the original one g60 made up. Now the new one includes a MMS fix probably need because of some change from cyanmod update

So I formatted everything, and reflashed all the files. Now MMS's won't even deliver to my phone. I had a friend send me a pic and it never got to me.

To those stating MMS is not working, could you do me a favor?

Open your build.prop file...

and check for these lines:

Code:
ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=310120
ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha=Sprint

If they AREN'T there...that is why MMS is not working. So add those in, save, reboot.

If they are there...well...I don't know, sadly. That would be more up Chairshot's alley, than my own.

I would also recommend you switch to 4Ext, I have been flashing in this phone since it was available. I ran TWRP for sometime and, since using 4EXt the frequency of issues has dropped significantly

I've been doing some trouble shooting over the past few days to find the cause to a couple if issues, first the cpu speed resetting to 384Mhz is caused by the cm10.1 performance options, to resolve turn off developer options and reboot you shouldn't have the cpu resets any more, you can turn on developer options again as long as you don't go into the performance options. As for battery drain, I use better battery stats and trial and error and found that my battery drain only occurred after usage of the GPS even though I turned it off after I used it, and better battery stats showed a ton of partial wake locks by the gps location provider service, interestingly the built in battery app shows kernel tuner as using up the most resources, so I imagine that it's the gps service and kernel tuner is somehow interacting with each other. tomorrow I will uninstall kernel tuner and turn on the gps for a few minutes to see if the drain happens again. if you have battery drain turn off gps, uninstall kernel tuner, reboot and this should solve battery drain, you can re-install kernel tuner without invoking battery drain, at least until you turn the gps on again.

This is correct, sorry been really busy this week and been working on the Rom all day and just remembered to check the forums as I wanted to send a PM. When CM was messing with MMS over the previous few builds I put up G60's generic VVM zip in place of the Angry Bean version because it had included an older version of the MMS.apk that had still worked. Now that all the dust has cleared on the CM side of things the old MMS app that worked as a fix the last few builds will now not work so will need to use the OG Angry Bean version of the VMM Zip that does not replace the MMS.apk as the config for VVM for the MMS.apk is in the overlay so is applied when the Rom is building so AB version of the zip does not need the MMS.apk like. My bad for not posting sooner but will everyone will need to use the original Angry Bean version of the VVM Zip going foreword. It is posted in both the installation guide and the Rom Browser in the OP. It wont fix anything if you have already flashed the generic VMM Zip as it has already replaced your MMS.apk. Give me a sec ill post a zip that puts back the MMS.apk from the 6/7/2013 build. May need to clear data for the app in application settings but should work. Otherwise if you did flash the Angry Bean version of the VVM Zip and are having issues like has been mentioned its time for 4ext.

Thanks Chairshot for the info. I flashed the old VVM fix cause its the only one I had and didn't realize it changed, but a quick swap back of the new MMS.apk from the ROM and a wipe of the app's data worked perfectly. The application data wipe is very important, MMS wasn't working with just replacing the app, but after a data wipe it worked fine.

The old app still works for me.

Flashing this should fix MMS, Just gave it a try by first flashing the generic VMM Zip, rebooting and then flashed the fix. Just got a pic back from a friend in response to one I had sent him.

MMS-apk_Fix.zip

I have a question will either version work? I haven't noticed many problems except for battery reporting. Sense I am making a post here is my report on the extended battery issue. The battery reporting issue still exists but its not that bad. Now I can have the phone running for a day and a half with no issues. Only thing that I don't run is Google Now. Also I purchased a dock and I noticed it has docking support. It has a little chime that it produces, it doesn't bother me at all. Then it gets stuck in landscape mode. A simple un-dock fixes the issue. Other than that no other issues.
