Root [ROM] Angry Bean / CM 10.1 [build 08.08.13]

Okay, probable noob question:

I have last build running. Should I flash new zip without wiping my data? I would like to, I'm guessing I need to wipe it all and start again.

Not sure if it's even worth it, for a minor update.

Edit: spelling

I just run the zip and install with out any issues.

So I tried just installing zip. Chrome doesn't work and my time is four hours off. I'll have to wipe it when I get wifi. I just wish I could back up my homescreen and cm settings

I flashed (wiped everything) the 6-24-13 version. Time would just go back to 3:00 and wouldn't let me change it. Also Google Now wasn't working.

Yeah, I just flashed previous build, it's all back to normal now. Never lost my app data. So I don't think latest build is ready. Now that a few of you had the same problems.

Had the same clock issue with the last build. Was able to fix by going into system settings/ date and time then unchecked auto. Set timezone then recheck auto

Clock issue has been around at least the last 5 or so builds. Usually it will correct itself after a bit. Usually why on 3g. Anyhow, removed the Stock CM GPS.conf and added 2 new NTP servers and a few other things into a new file and clock has been correct the last 3 times I flashed. Will post it when I can but no guarantee as the issue has been around for a long time now and 3 flashes is far from definitive. .

Chair, just want to say, awesome job mate. This ROM is amazing. Unfortunately I can't use it because I need working MMS. Is the MMS on 3G only issue something that's CM in nature, or what? Any chance of it getting fixed/changed in a later update?

On latest update. Running well. Used angry bean vvm mms zip. I don't seem to ever get voicemail notifications. I can also send mms but can't seem to receive.

Joined just to say how awesome this ROM is, it's been my daily for about a month now (Build 6.7.2013) and I love it.

Figured I could chip in with some bugs and a donation.

Any bugs I've encountered have been very minor, one being when I go to join a wifi network that requires you to sign in through a web page it never connects, I used to get a prompt that so and so required additional privileges click here to open browser blah blah.

I had one instance where it said it was connected through 3G, but it infact wasn't, and nothing was going through (messages, data, etc). A quick toggle of Mobile Data On/Off fixed this, so it was more likely a service issue.

If the phone is connected to something via bluetooth and the screen locked, turning off that device or walking out of range of it with your phone and then unlocking the screen will cause the lock screen to jitter back and forth really fast for a few seconds, this might actually be a feature, I dunno.

Lastly the 4G (WiMax) power toggle in the Notifications drawer doesn't turn the WiMax on or off.

Haven't had any trouble with MMS or calls, at least that I know of.

A couple questions though, is the kernel included with your build have the true dual core patch? Does it also include the most recent OTA updates from Virgin? (PRL and stuff) And would it be possible to add a few more UI tweaks to the build? Such as having the option to center the clock in the status bar, status bar transparency etc. Perhaps even a task manager shortcut thingy in the notification pull down. I know it was there in ICS, not sure if it was removed for Jelly Bean or if it's something else now?

Again, awesome ROM, if there's anything I can do to help let me know.

P.S. Battery life is as good or better than before as well, another plus.

P.P.S. Does anyone know of a way to require a double volume up-volume down press to change the volume level? I'm always accidentally changing the volume. And a way to increase the Alarm ringer past the max it's set at now as well? Still seems very quiet.

I'm still having MMS issues. I tried the MMS Fix that you provided in the forum but my MMS is still delayed. Some pictures I'll get instantly, others I'll get hours to days later. My MMS when I send it seems to send instantly and works. Also I've noticed my GPS will turn itself on without telling me.

Other issues: 1. had a random reboot the other day. 2. I have ClockWorkMod Touch recovery installed, whenever I went to flash the MMS fix it came up with an error after the flash and was stuck in a boot loop for a while. I had the reflash the entire ROM. Currently still on the 06062013 version. Tried the MMS fix again got the same error. Also when I group message only some of the peoples replies will show up and the others will be blank when they've said something. 3. Visual Voicemail isn't working the way it should be. If I have a voicemail I get a text first and won't show up in the VVM app for about 15 mins.

Would first recommend using 4ext and not clockwork mod. Can be installed along with the Joe blow hacks recommended for using the ROM in the op. Last I checked it was use the Joe Blow hacks with the ROM given a choice between 4ext or twrp but would definitely use 4ext over the twrp version. After that would just flash the ROM again using the Angry Bean VMM Zip. Also no need for the MMS fix if you have reflashed the Rom as the MMS fix was for those who had flashed the generic VMM Zip and not the Angry Bean version as the generic VMM Zip replaces the MMS app with an older version so if you do flash the Rom again using the Joe Blow hacks and the Angry Bean VMM don't flash the MMS Fix.
