Root [ROM] Angry Bean / CM 10.1 [build 08.08.13]

Screenshot s are here

That is normal. If you read the last posts, you should have seen the steps to help fix it. All you can do is delete it after you have read all your voicemails. I believe it is a bug with roms that are not built around sense based roms. I really know it is annoying but that is what you have to do. If you have anymore questions you can PM me.

I have never received a text message using the Angry Bean version of VMM, Only the generic version. Otherwise I just get the notification sound with the voice-mail icon in the status bar, no text messages.

Chairshot,

Could you possibly update the interactive governor and ROW scheduler as in these commits:

https://bitbucket.org/bigwillyg/but...mits/f38a63683375b39d785e93290bae8046eed76c0d

https://bitbucket.org/bigwillyg/but...mits/b7c276ca7c40187eab31b77af5c79d60edbaa6ac

These commits are originally from mrg666's kernel, but the commits listed are from bigwilly's kernel. Thanks! The ROM is running great, no problems here.

Yeah I started working on mrg666's commits yesterday but for some reason the Kernel will not compile with either. Both Row and Interactive from the Hydra Kernel look nothing at all like mrg666's code so the actual commits don't really fit anywhere. Tried just replacing the code altogether but still a no go and have been looking at commits from both kernels trying to find the conflict. Took the day off for the most part but just started looking at it again a bit ago and is probably the only reason for not posting an update. Adapted mrg666's code for Thermal Control and mpdecition among other things in place of what was used by Hydra and so far is showing a big difference in battery life and performance. Also CM has probably made more changes in the last week then the previous month and is now officially CM10.1.1 RC0, Not that the version makes much of a difference but probably worth updating on their changes alone.

I can submit working patches to your repo if it is okay with you. Let me know.

Does anybody have the same problem where when you login to your local router and give it your username and password its keeps it and automatically logs you in when you reconnect later to the admin console. I have deleted all the options cookies, cache, etc. Is there a fix for this? Or do I have to delete the app data?

Ok so I've kept redownloading this ROM and getting (status 7) installation aborted message. This is happening for WFTN ROM and this one. However not for the Anthrax kernel and Gapps I had on my SD. Ive tried 4ext recovery CWM recovery and TWRP recovery. I had just ran the RUU and now im getting this problem. I've tried downloading multiple times and its not working. Can anyone help me out?

Also the Gapps that did flash were the gapps from the Vmobi in the OP.

Edit: The RUU changed my Hboot to 1.57. *facepalm*

OK sorry, but I'm having another issue. When I try to connect to wifi, I find my SSID enter the password it wont connect. Under my wifi SSID it says "Saved, secured with WEP" And when I tap and tap on it and press connect it says "connecting" for a few seconds than just goes back to saying "Saved, secured with WEP"??

You've tried "forgetting" the network, and starting fresh? Along with a restart?

Is there a reason you use WEP? WPA1+2 are far better.. I recently picked up a 300N router with USB port on amazon for $20. WEP is bad security and probably hard to connect to.

Yes I've tried that, and I'm just using the router we got with our FIOS Quantum package or something like that.

Also this problem doesn't exist on any other devices, and it doesn't happen when I'm on any ICS ROM.

Also I found that only when im in airplane mode it will sometimes connect, but not every time. And im in the same room as my router, so theres no problem there.

That would most definitely rock!

I have forked your repo and merged the latest interactive governor and row scheduler there. Please let me know if you want me to send a push request but you can also pull from there at your convenience.
The forked repo is the following and the commits are the latest two.
https://github.com/mrg666/android_kernel_htc_msm8660/commits/cm-10.1
Cheers!

Edit: BTW, the kernel builds clean with linaro-gcc-4.6 with the latest two commits.

Thanks allot for the help on those, going to try and build with linaro-gcc-4.6.

Would first recommend using 4ext and not clockwork mod. Can be installed along with the Joe blow hacks recommended for using the ROM in the op. Last I checked it was use the Joe Blow hacks with the ROM given a choice between 4ext or twrp but would definitely use 4ext over the twrp version. After that would just flash the ROM again using the Angry Bean VMM Zip. Also no need for the MMS fix if you have reflashed the Rom as the MMS fix was for those who had flashed the generic VMM Zip and not the Angry Bean version as the generic VMM Zip replaces the MMS app with an older version so if you do flash the Rom again using the Joe Blow hacks and the Angry Bean VMM don't flash the MMS Fix.

Okay so what I'm about to do is use the JoeBlowHacks, after I'm gonna do full wipe except SD card and just reinstall your ROM according to the tutorial. This should fix my MMS right? Among other things I hope..

I only tested with gcc-4.6 since it was handy at the time. You can keep using your usual toolchain if it is different. Check the latest mpdecision changes in my repo. It would be great to get your feedback.

I'm on FIOS with my HTC Evo V 4G as well, no problems though.

One thing, being a ROM hopper :D, I found is that files left over on my sdcard from previous ROMs sometimes break my attempts to load other ROMs. If you want to test this, get a blank scdard with just the ROM and gapps on it, and try to flash again. I've had to do this twice, and it worked (don't ask me why lol)

I wipe my SD for the most part when switching ROMs.

All i keep is my music pictures and TB files.

Sorry meant to respond yesterday,

Not sure how you ended up on 1.57 but is not compatible with the Rom. If you look at the below link will see a list of what is accepted at the bottom of the page.

https://github.com/HTCCM10/android_device_htc_shootervm/blob/cm-10.1/releasetools.py

With that said it is recommended to use the Joe Blow Hacks, Is what I use and what is used when testing and I see very little if any of the issues that are posted.

http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?p=5452058%22

Also if TB is Titanium I would be very careful, I dont use it now but in the past have experienced some pretty wierd bugs after restoring data. Doesn't always seem apparent either. For example once had a Sentinel3 backup that would brake wifi when restored. Had a smiler issue with an MMS backup even when restored after flashing the same Rom the backup had been made from. Drove me nuts for like a week until putting 2 and 2 together.

Yes I changed my Hboot and ran Joe Blow hacks right after I realized that the RUU did that lol. But I'm still having the wifi problem that I talked about?

Posting an update.

First, there has been lots and lots of changes made to the code from CM so would really recommend wiping DATA.

Second, lots of Kernel changes including mrg666's mpdecion, Interactive and Row updates amongst others. Interactive is now set as the default. Big thanks to mrg666 for the assist.

Also out of a dozen or so flashes the time issue pops up still now and again. No need to bug out, it will correct itself after a bit.
