I do turn mine off. If I'm not using it - e.g when I'm asleep - I prefer to switch it off. Sorry if you find that strange.
 
I always leave 3g on so ive never encountered your problem to be fair, i use my phone as mainly a web browser and for the forums so need 3g on all the time but you can just put a 2g/3g button on the notification and just switch it manually, i could never go back to sense but as far as calendar goes have you tried apw? The calendar is really good.

I enable WiFi / 3G when I need it, and disable it when I don't.

Think I tried APW but just preferred the Sense calendar.

Biggest issue was the startup time. As for airplane mode the last time I used it (a couple of years ago) it locked my phone up and wouldnt come out of airplane mode until I removed the sim card (no idea why) so I avoid that one now. I'm a "switch it off if I'm not using it" kind of guy with things.

In my experience yes, can't say I've ever had an aosp rom that booted much differently. It's really not an issue for me how long it takes, i just hit power and let I do its thing.
 
This is apw calendar, works for me and you can apply themes.

I'm finding the start up a hell of alot faster with this update. Running it on the custom 65MB HBOOT.

Only bug I've found is the charging LED goes green long before the phone is charged. I also found this with the older version I was running.

No biggie really.
 
Most AOSP ROMs turn the light green at 90% or so. There are a couple where this has been modified so that they only turn green at 100% - GingerVillain was the first I met to do this, and I discovered recently that MildWild Oxygen does too - but green at 90% is normal for AOSP. Genuinely a feature rather than a bug.
 
think that is a battery stats issue - all new rom flashes have this for me - try a stats reset - there is a thread on here about it - prob link in all things root thread at top of list

i tend to:
.charge till green light comes on
.turn phone off and charge till light goes green again
.phone on and wait till drops below 100%
.then charge again till green light
.then immediately boot in to recovery-advanced and wipe stats

Quick question to SU, will this lockscreen mod work on dGB?

I know that the lockscreen here was ported from CM7, and thats why I was wondering.

Also, just flashed this rom, working well so far.
(Did give me a scare at the beginning though, it wouldnt flash, something about E: Can't open sd card...installation of(rom name) failed (bad) ...) I downloaded the rom again, and gave it a try, worked like a charm the second time.

So far, just that question. :)
 
No it won't as it replaces framework-res.apk. dGB and cm frameworks are very different.

That said you could just swap the image in the dGB framework-res.apk easily enough

So now that I have changed and repackaged the framework-res.apk should I replace it?
 
Yup. It can take a few goes to get it right so dont despair.

Oh by the way if its only image, you don't need to decompile/recompile an apk. If you open it in winrar you can just delete and,replace the image and close the,zip
 
hi Dan.

just had missing events in widget and PI again. plus
some Google framework messages.
went into stock calendar and they showed ok there.
refresh on Widgets brought them back after that.

id not had this while using mildwild only seems to be on dGB :-\

previously on dGB my Widgets and calendar were losing all events and
I was getting .com / Google framework errors.

didn't seem to get it while on mildwild or cm7 as far as I recall.

Obviously you're the only one. Must be compatability issue.

What did you do different between flashing those roms and this?
 
don't think I did anything different.always follow same backup,wipe,flash routine
I've sent log file to widget dev to see if he can see ought

yes current version of Go

and widgets are Agenda WIdget linked to Pocket informant

obviously it could be anything that is causing this issue - but pattern seemed to match dGB installs

certainly is - oh right - could be that i guess - but i think it is more to do with google/calendar services maybe - who knows :D

....plus me bleedin pc is one step away from death i think!! :( :( :D
