Root [ROM][AOSP]dGB v01_28_2012| 2.3.5| 375MB /data| 60MB /system |Mult-lang |Unlock |Reboot[28 Jan]

Just wanted to say thanks for this rom. I installed it a few days ago and am enjoying the speed and the space! Had a couple of issues with camera and market force closes, but these disappeared after a full format of all partitions and subsequent reflash.

I haven't got round to flashing your hboot, but will probably do that soon.

I really like the minimalistic approach, giving the maximum amount of space to install just the apps I need.

Thanks again!

For some reason my camera has stopped working.

Background: On Monday I took a couple of photos just fine, I then installed google maps, changed the screen timeout and turned on GPS. Got loads of forced closes in anything I tried to do so eventually managed to turn off GPS, uninstall google maps and change the screen timeout back to previous settings. The force closes stopped. But I went to take a picture today and bang, force close for the camera app. It happens everytime I try to take a picture. Have rebooted the phone, done a physical on/off with battery out but still happening. Have stopped the app and cleared the data out as well. Just can't get the camera to work again.

Any ideas?

Phone has been sweet as a nut until the other day. Running dGB with 65Mb Hboot. Loads of space left internally and on SD card.

No idea why it should happen, but let's assume that something's happened to the camera app. So what can you do?

* Erase the dalvik cache, in case that has been damaged. It will rebuild on a reboot, so this is harmless, and at worst wastes a few minutes.

* Reflash the ROM (without a wipe). That will replace the camera together with all other system apps.

* Or less radically, if you backed up the camera with Ti you could try uninstalling it (you are S-Off) then restore the backup. Clean up the dalvik cache inbetween, to be sure.

Of course all of this comes under the heading of "messing with system apps", so do make sure you are backed-up (these suggestions should all be risk free, but it's good to stay in the habit :)).

This happened on me also, and the way I got it to work is to open up a file explorer app and go to the dcim folder, in there if you have it set to show hidden folders, should be .Thumbnails, delete this whole folder, then it should all work fine. It does for me.

hi guys.

just back on dgb after a short ish break ;-)

I'm now getting market force close errors all the time. due to the fact I was on play
version before I'm sure. any ideas how I get around this? assume I need to upgrade apk
somehow?

I have done some searching but am a bit restricted at mo as just on phone

thanks
dan

I havent flashed the rom since it became Play so I couldnt say for sure. I just had the latest market (which became play anyway) and installed the APK manually.

doh! it was so easy after all my drama! :D just couldnt find a clean site to grab file when looking using phone

dload apk from xda and installed - job done

My Bluetooth works so much better with my Garmin satnav with this Rom, how is it different to the stock froyo Rom? If at all?

I may be wrong - but I think the Bluetooth settings weren't touched/tailored for this Rom. It could be that it'the fact it's so lightweight and nothing is interfering with it. Or it could be a coincidence? Either way - I've noticed my Bluetooth connection is a lot more stable as when I was on stock it could be quite hit and miss when sending/recieving files.

Yes I did know that thanks. I've been having a few stability problems with CM7 and S2E and I wanted to try a ROM that uses a modified Hboot as a solution to the "no space" problem.

I am rocking dGB now. Great ROM.

Old Market gave FC problem. Sorted out by pushing MarketUpdater.apk from adb thereafter which it upgraded itself to Play.
