I thought dGB uses a pretty old market by default. What version have you got?
I've not heard of this problem with dGB. I'm running play store 3.7.15 with no problems (which is the latest).
But dGB doesn't come with Google Play, but rather with the old market. So if they reflashed the ROM it would revert to that, and that should work. I don't know whether it would then update to Play - dGB doesn't seem to include the market updater (once you have Play Store it seems to update without, but I think you might have to manually update from Market to Play Store if there is no market updater).
Am on TapaTalk so can't easily find links. Stuff from xda is generally safe. Backup before installing.
Size difference is probably just data. Have they tried clearing data for the market app?
Do you wipe your phone before applying the nandroid?
Maybe the rom you flashed is too big for the hboot?
Double check with "quick system info" how much of the system partition is being used
Hi Guys, I think I found a glitch which is driving me nuts.
In the msgs, I would sms someone in a poor signal area and it would fail possibly after some retrys. I get a red triangle on the side to tell me it has failed.
When I get back into signal, I long press the failed to send messages and cannot find a retry sending button. I looked every where for a retry to send button and it cannot be found.
I hoped it will resend automatically but its still with the red triangle.
Proposed solution:
Add retry button to message options long press menu
Add menu button, retry to send ALL failed messages
PS. Brilliant fast small rom, nice interface, like a breath of fresh air for my old HTC Desire. Thankyou kind sir for your support
i'll try to do that. see what it says.
Are you sure? Didn't put Fonts in there or anything like that? Rom flashes to under 60MB so something is wrong. Maybe something left over. Try format system, reflash rom and do nothing else. Recheck
No, he means format the system partition (to ensure there's nothing on there), then reflash the ROM. Nandroid first, of course.how do you define "format system". is this wiping dalvik cache, cache and user info? or is there anything else i sould do for that?
btw it keeps freezing all the time now. what could cause this?
No, he means format the system partition (to ensure there's nothing on there), then reflash the ROM. Nandroid first, of course.
If it still freezes after that then we'll worry about that one.
Should be able to do it from recovery.maybe a stupid question but how do you format the system partition?
Reflashing the ROM will remove the script. Probably best to wipe dalvik first (I think it would rebuild anyway, but may as well clear it off the ext partition). The pattern seems to be as follows
Charge the phone overnight. (Its my alarm clock) then a bit of facebook etc once i am up in the morning and all seems fine for 30mins.
Drive to work about 45mins pick up the phone at the office and it freezes (it has not been plugged into car charger) and need to remove battery to get it to boot.
If i use maps it sometimes works fine but then stops mid journey abdd sometimes just freeze straight away.
The PVT is 4. And i had thought about overheating but it never seems that hot. Sometimes warm when using maps etc.
To remove dalvik to sd is it ok just to reflash the rom or do i need to wipe data or just dalvik data
Thanks for your jelp
Reflashing the ROM will remove the script. Probably best to wipe dalvik first (I think it would rebuild anyway, but may as well clear it off the ext partition).
But if I'm right and the dalvik to ext patch is actually a full a2sd script (and I don't think it will do anything otherwise) you've probably got all of your apps on ext as well. In which case unfortunately a full wipe is probably the best thing to do.
Trouble is, it's quite likely that this isn't the cause of the problem - I just suggested it as a thing to check since it's a modification to the ROM, and so one way your setup differs from other users. Did the problem start when you installed the ROM, or some time after?
