Root [ROM] ApeX V2.0.0 Beta (5/3/2011)

So quick question before i flash....i am on .573 rooted...the OG prerooted GB. According to your directions i can flash the kernel updater, then part 1, then boot into clockwork and then flash part 2? Just wanting to confirm

If the pattern lock screen is selected doe it still have the slider as well????? Can anyone lmk, thanks..

If you have a pattern unlock set up, it will bypass the slide unlock (no double unlocking). Please note that the default 'Security Lock Timer' is 20 mins, which IMO should be lowered (otherwise an unlock will go straight to the homescreen if it's within 20 mins of the last locking).

I will add that little tidbit of into the the 'Things to Know'

Fab, slightly confused with the flow chart lol

I had tested the Apex Alpha 3 yesterday. Is this different? Do I just flash the part 1 and 2 since my kernel is already #2?

If you have kernel #2 already, you're good to flash straight to Apex.

Can someone post links to the universal inbox and everything it needs to work properly?

I believe this was called the Blur messaging suite in the previous toolbox.

Lol, guess what I forgot to upload last night, the removed apps .zip with all the apps I deleted. I'll have that up in a bit!

I'm probably just an idiot, but when I try to do the Blur restore (I kind of just want the camera and possibly Corporate Sync, but I'm not sure if that'll work out, but thought I'd try) it just says directory not found, even though I've created the restore directory on my SD card (I made it lower case.) Am I doing something really obviously wrong and I'm just a complete dummy? It's very likely.

Thanks very much for your hard work Fab =)

Just curious, you don't happen to still have the phone connected to the PC in mass storage mode, do you? If so, the terminal won't be able to find the sdcard as it's in use by your PC.

Just loaded this up. Even though I liked the new Blur, I forgot how much I liked Apex as well [what is a guy to do? LOL].

This is insanely fast and smooth with LPP on top. Even with the stock Apex launcher, it was just as fast. Still setting up my phone, so can't say too much more at this point. If previous Apex trends hold true, this ROM will be top notch.

What's the process for someone on .588 Gb Apex 2 Alpha 2? As in when do I flash the .591 and then do the part1, kernel, ect...

Flash the .591 kernel during the same clockwork recovery session as installing part 1. No need to wipe data if coming from A2. Wipe cache though.

I added the exact kernel number under the diagram in the OP. Basically, if you don't have that version, you must flash the new kernel prior (or during) to installing Apex.

Thanks Fab, So are you saying flash your Kernel update to get to .591 or still flash the deodexed full .591 which I'm downloading now as per that thread? Sorry for being a pain. lolzies... :)

Edit: And will I lose root whilst updating this?

is something up with the battery icons/xml? i notice that it only displays in 20% increments. i have two widgets reporting back at 90% with the 80% icon being displayed. i first noticed this on the last alpha when i modded the icons but at the time i chalked it up to something i did, but now that i'm seeing it on a fresh install, i wonder if it's something specific to apex. before i installed this, i was running stock .591 with the beta honeybread theme and the icons reported back in 10% increments.

just flash the kernel update and part 1, reboot, then flash part 2, as depicted in the flow chart.

The stock xml file is setup to only report battery percentages in 20% increments.

@Fabolous

Does the phone still reboot when charging or connecting to PC if the bump app is installed???

And sorry about sending you the Title Correction pm about the clock removal thread I started last week, I meant to send it to Steven58 (I just noticed it) :p

If you want to add the slider lock back, I modded the framework from Fabs latest build to put it back.

It also keeps the screen off when you unplug from power.

FYI, this will only affect anyone using the pattern or pin lock as Fab has it set to not show the slide lock in those cases.

A couple of observations/questions.

The Goggle ASOP camera app has an option for 8MP. When did this happen?
The car dock is the Blur car dock. I assume the older Google car dock doesn't work on GB?

So I'm on Liberty 2.0 Now and I want to try out APEX. I've backed up everything with clockworksmod, but how do I flash over. (I know how to flash) but I have no idea what the .558 / .591 numbers are or how to find out what I have. (I do know I have 2.3.340 before I flashed to liberty)

Some help please.

I think I am on 2.2.1, so I need to update to GB. I guess I have to learn how to use SBF then?

Is there a good spot to get the blur apps to restore. I would like to restore some of the Blur Widgest like the turn on wifi, bluetooth, GPS....
