Root [ROM] ApeX V2.0.0 Beta (5/3/2011)

fab is there a way you cant release these when im asleep? i wake up and see the new apex, and i gotta be at work in 10 mins. you must stop this at all cost! it gives me a major headache!!!!

keep up the good work, i have noticed the apextoolbox is no longer working in terminal emulator, i guess your making the toolbox just like the liberty one? or is it still based in terminal emulator?

If you have a pattern unlock set up, it will bypass the slide unlock (no double unlocking). Please note that the default 'Security Lock Timer' is 20 mins, which IMO should be lowered (otherwise an unlock will go straight to the homescreen if it's within 20 mins of the last locking).

If you have kernel #2 already, you're good to flash straight to Apex.

Just curious, you don't happen to still have the phone connected to the PC in mass storage mode, do you? If so, the terminal won't be able to find the sdcard as it's in use by your PC.

I uh...may have neglected to realize that I needed to put apps in the restore folder. >.> Can we chalk that up to it being 3 a.m. the morning before my last final please? :D

Just updated to .591 yesterday. So I need both parts 1 and 2 huh? I may wait a few days to update to this ROM however. Thanks for your work Fab. :)
 
this animation has driven me nuts for a long time. Ever notice how it fades into a glowing green, then just jumps back to no glow???

So finally I went and modified the bootanimation to do more of a pulsate, so it fades to glow, then back to no glow and so forth.

Just copy this zip into /data/local/ and chmod 755 on it.

Reboot and bask in the greatness of apex :)

Can anyone tell me if one is able to restore the blur launcher with Apex 2.0. I would like to know before I try it. I've become a GingerBlur fanboi.
 
First I'd like to thank you Mr. Bigxie for the Fabulous work! Been a long time lurker fan. Out of the shadows though for a quick question about this new Beta.

Is this something that will likely be remedied or is it prohibited somehow? I tend to use this feature quite a bit. That said, it's certainly worth the minor inconvenience for such a superbly developed ROM.

just unzip, place on your sd card, swap the stat_sys_battery.xml out via ninjamorph, and enjoy 10% increments

Thanks for the great ROM!! It was super easy to install from Alpha 2, easiest ROM install on my Droid X yet.

Lovin the Apex deal. Question though, is there a terminal toolbox for this ROM or are you still adding that? I know you say you havent made a toolbox app yet but does that mean it also isnt in terminal?

And WOW, 1850 quadrant NOT overclocked. Ran it 3 times, all about the same. Nice job!!
 
after looking at the steps to install apex. i have a few questions..


im on the correct kernel, currently running broodcomb 2.0

am i able to install apex over this?
what would be the steps to then?
 
thanks for the hard work Fab but I'm not really liking the feel of the ROM. I think GingerBlur is much smoother and functional. Motorola made it really hard to deal with the GB Blur on it. Thanks anyways

Hey FAB,

Wanted to know if Apex 2.0 beta has the T-Mobile Theme Engine like CM7? Or is it possible on the Droid X?
 
Fab... like always APEX is awesome. Came from Alpha 2 with no data wipe and everything is perfect and running smooth. thank you!!!!

Anyone out there....
I restored Blur email (works much better with verizon.net address based on yahoo server). Anyway, doing this if I remember right in order for it to work properly the messaging app has to be installed as well, correct? If so can I freeze the stock messaging in TB or will that keep me from receiving MMS in the future? I just dont wanna mess up my SMS/MMS but dont need to have both Messaging (stock) and Text messaging (blur) loaded. Thanks!

I would try it for you, but I'm not running ApeX ;)

EDIT:
Or you could take the CRT and Rotation zip I made and delete the framework folder frome it.......it will only apply the BlurHome.apk :D
