Dayam this rom runs so nice. Amazing how much cpu kernels effect things though. Finally got a set up that works for me I think. See, I tried this rom with P3's 1Ghz LV kernel but my device ran hot as hell (35-40c) and my battery life was 10 hours at best.

Now im running Chevyno1 LV 1Ghz and things are great! Been running it for 2 hours now and im at 90% battery life with 27 degrees Celsius. Cool as ice. So far so good..time to test it for a whole day.

^ Is there a free utility that can monitor the battery's temperature? OSMonitor in the market only displays the CPU temp as far as I can tell.
Thanks! :)

Also, which kernel ships with BB 0.4? Is it P3's? How can I tell? My phone gets kinda hot when I play with it at all, which is slightly troubling, but would going up to a 1 GHz kernel instead of a 800 MHz kernel actually help with that? seems counterintuitive :p

rewiped phone and did fresh install with bb.4 and nextheme but now wifi and my location are not working. any fixes?

Hmm, sometimes it shows up and then other times it doesnt (Cpu temp that is). I think its froyo though.

As for battery temp? Temp monitor lite is free and works. Probably not the best out on the market, but it works if you wanna try it. Not sure what specific kernel BB ships with, unfortunately, so im sorry I cant help you there. Generally, going to a higher Overclocked speed will generate more heat. But it really really depends on the different type of kernels. Try a few out and see :)

I'm also not sure which kernel this comes with stock, but if you can get one of Chevy's ULV kernels to work, I'd recommend it. I'm currently using the 1.2 gHz one and my phone stays between 29 and 34 degrees C. Be aware that not all phones will play nicely with ULV (or even LV) kernels, though.

Since Pete made comments on boot speed improvements to BB 0.4 on twitter is there an updated version in the works, things to ponder.

Try the "droidboot" script in the Bugless Beast Tool, it installs an alt boot animation designed to decrease boot time. (don't forget to update the tool through the menu.

Just in case anyone had as tough of a time finding it as I did, here is a link to flash-10_beta3

MEGAUPLOAD

Not sure if there is one newer...

We should have this stickied in the root section or the Android Media section. :) I've answered a few questions where people were trying to find the latest flash player for the Droid.

So basically, a huge "thanks" to all the people who voted for Pete to win a Droid X, because that's all he's working on now, and that'll delay any Droid BB updates even more significantly than the turd from AllDroid insisting on getting Pete an Incredible.

"Awesome" job, guys.
lol I thought so as well

he was cranking out the Droid 0.5 and now he won the X so he's working on rooting it

Yeah, good luck with THAT! But if anyone can root it, Pete can. As far as I'm concerned, this is the ultimate Bugless Beast ROM. I really can't imagine anything more improved, refined and functional. Can Pete really have that many more BB tricks up his sleeve until Gingerbread comes out?

Woot woot! I woke up at 1pm..its almost 2am now and ive still got 50% battery.

Sent a couple hundred texts, used google navigation GPS for an hour, Facebook all through out the day, Checked movie times, etc. My normal heavy usage.

And that is without using Juice Defender. Very satisfied with my battery life. I suggest trying LV Chevyno1 kernel (although, all droids are different) and no Setcpu. My display is usually set to auto or none. My GPS toggle is always "on". Its to my understanding that it isnt used unless its showing so in the notification bar? Either way ive kept it on and it hasnt seemed to effect my battery life.

which kernel specifically? there are plenty of chevys =)

hmm. i'm using the 1.0 ghz ULV chevy. what's the difference, if any? does the ULV just use less power?

Lower voltage equals lower temperatures and both of those factors save battery life. It's just better all around.

LV = Low Voltage
ULV = Ultra Low Voltage

I wiped everything before installing, added my Google accounts, downloaded Titanium Backup from the Merket, used Titanium Backup to restore my wireless internet passwords and most of my apps, then downloaded/installed the rest of my apps from the Market. Lately, however, if I ever have an update to download in the Market, most of the time it downloads 100% and never installs.

I try hitting Cancel and trying again, sometimes that works. I try uninstalling the app completely from my phone then try downloading/installing again, sometimes that works. But currently I can't get ROM Manager or Quadrant to redownload/install.

You are not alone with this problem. Several other threads on this and other forums reporting same issue. Happens to me on BB.4 and any other FROYO rom. Works for a bit, then quits installing apps. I have wrestled with it for over a week and finally had to go back to BB1.1 for a reliable ROM to fall back to. Seems no one can find a fix. Only luck I had was wiping Market data, deleting vending.apk, reinstalling, and then it works again for a few hours before going right back to the installing hang up. Frustrating for sure.

So I've had this ROM for a couple of weeks (new record), I haven't had any problems but I was wondering if the 50 freemb script at all times and 100mb script at first boot is working. I've seen my mem go way below to the low 30s a lot of times. And the apps that usually auto kill like the android.motorola.calendar are still showing as a running app. I could swear "petes" file had that set to autokill.

Any ideas on how to confirm if it is working or am I not understanding something correctly.

Hey guys,

I just bought a used Droid with Bugless Beast already installed.
When I go to BB Toolkit it says I have Rom version V0.4(FROYO)
Is this the latest?

Also, i am having issues sending MMS messages. I used to have a rooted Eris, and i know this was a problem on several roms.
Does anyone know a fix for this?
