Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

I have a new build that fixes some of the sensor issues (thanks Isaac) and has the updated Market in it, but right now Virgin's data is dead in this area (and there are reports it's not localized either); I swapped back to the stock load to track this and until it comes up and I'm sure I didn't break anything I'm not going to post it.....

I'm still on the case... just don't want to loose something that I'm not sure works.

So, I guess nobody else is having problems finding apps in the Android Market?
Am I the only one who's getting "Your device is not compatible with this item" more than usual?

Try the Thunderprop thing on the forum. I would think that should help.

There's a lot of apps that should work on the Triumph but don't. Lightbox was just an example of them.

I don't know about that.
tickerguy mentioned something in the first post about not messing with the build.prop, which is exactly what Thunderprop does.

I'm afraid I'll mess up my radio if I fllash the Thunderprop tweak.

I know thats right ill just forget it and wait.

first of all i would like to say thank you for all you and issac have done with the triumph. i was messing around with CM7 and its great but the only thing that i dont like is ADW. if i choose to use go launcher ex will it mess up the rom at all? well thank you and keep up the good work guys

use titanium backup on the stock rom to backup this app and then try to restore it with cm7 rom. thats how i did my apps and they work fine.

NO do not try that!!! It was designed for the stock ROM, Tickerguy and I have already talked and this is fairly surely going to bork CM7.

I will make one for CM7 when I find some time

Yeah if someone can figure out what the market wants in the build.prop I can certainly fix it, but trying a few things from the original fail didn't do anything....

yea the market thing is something weird. i wasnt able to even find certain apps that i was able to use before. i was thinking it was a gingerbread thing but that makes no sense because i was able to use those apps on evos gingerbread. i was actually restoring from titanium and certain apps refused to install. so i did a market search and those apps didnt show it. weird, i tell ya. maybe todays DL something might be different but really no biggy.

If YOU sleep it (hit the power button) it will reliably wake back up. If IT sleeps, it sometimes does not, and the bad part of that is that it actually hard-locks somewhere in the kernel as I can't get a log from it. (The "you hit the button" was the part I fixed.) I'll eventually find that but it may be a while due to the rather "unique" circumstances of it dying. I suspect it's sensor or CPU power-state related which is why I'm not going after that first.

For me, the phone only wakes up from sleep if wifi is not on. With wifi on even if I sleep it myself it still stays locked and have to remove the battery to restart.

is it possible to update the previous rom with newer rom just by running the new rom. or do i have to wipe it clean and reinstall the new rom.

If you are coming from one of MY previous CM7 builds you can probably just wipe the system partition and then flash over it, which should keep your data. However, no promises - especially with "Pre-Alpha" code.

Incidentally, thanks for the additional data on the phone going to lseep and not waking up. If it's locking in the Wifi code it may be easier to fix. I'll see if I can reliably reproduce that. The problem with the lockups is that the phone is truly locked up when it happens - I can't plug it in and get into adb, which is going to make finding this a LOT of fun.

To get all data back I did a nad backup wipe phone wipe cache. Install fresh copy of tickerguy CM7 reboot let it load go in to recovery go to restore n backup advanced select you nad backup and select data let it finish reboot phone and all ur data should be restore

dont know if this has happend to anyone else but when i hold one to call voicemail it just seems like its calling the virgin mobile number.....as the virtual advisor comes on...and when i try to call my phone number instead of going to voicemail it just rings busy

I asked on the "How to Build from Source" thread but never got a reply. Is there a guide somewhere that explains how to import source, build, and debug w/ adb and eclipse on the phone?

Followed the original instructions to get a good build, but assume I need additional compile flags for debugging. I'm an old assembler/C programmer and wanted to play around a little and see what I could pick up.

David

I do not know how to get remote debugging (e.g. eclipse) to work in this environment... unfortunately.

I will log the VM bug - Isaac thought he had it fixed and I incorporated his change but it doesn't appear to have worked.
