Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

EDIT: Oh wow, the person just before my post reports the rebooting of his phone to....so it's not just me.

Nope, not just you, but if tickerguy can't duplicate the error, it will be difficult for him to troubleshoot. That and he's already stated problems with the wifi drivers being non-existent for this phone. I've just had to revert to the 9/12 build for now. It works ok for me and I can do without wifi on battery (and gps) for the time being.

I'm still hopeful these issues can be worked out over time, but tickerguy and issac have done wonders for this phone already, so I'm not complaining at all, especially for what these dev's are charging for their time :) Battery life is amazazing, among other things. For other phones there are source leaks from the manufacturer, but it seems this one is clamped down pretty tight, unfortunately.

Yeah, I'm definitely not complaining at all. I'm just reporting the locking and rebooting so that everyone knows that the problem still exists so that it can possibly be fixed in the future -- all part of the development process....

is it plausible to flash this then flash the GAPPS zip file from isaac's thread then flash the umph kernel over it and everything work fine?

Gapps are not needed and umph is made for 2.2 only.
yep that's what i thought....., but i will say that if this ever wants to be included on CM7's main page then the Google Apps need to be taken out, or they will never endorse it as a true CM7 build from what i hear because it infringes on Google.....

Gapps IS needed if you want to be able to sign into Google (e.g. contact sync, the market, etc.)

I'm not opposed to removing it from the build (it's not a big deal from my point of view) but without it how the hell do you do anything that requires authentication (any paid market app, etc)?

Turning off the wifi sleep is not hard if you want to, but it will cause lockups. Go into /system/etc/firmware/wlan and edit qcom_cfg.ini - change "gEnableSuspend" from "2" to "3".

That is what was originally there.

if going back to my stock nandroid backup. should i do a cache/dalvik cache wipe then format my system then restore the nandroid? im using isaacj87's latest build and i love the overclocking ability on it i just want gps to work... but i know that once the next build on here comes out with ext4 enabled we will hopefully get a link up for just the OC kernel from isaacj87's build that way the option will be there so someone (like me :-) ) who doesn't have one of the oddball phones, or the oddball oddball phones, can use it at their own risk, and i gladly will!

as it is this is what my phone looks like right now.

IT'S AWESOME THAT I SET MY LOCATION TO NOWHERE AND I TOOK THE SNAP RIGHT AT 12:00AM LOL PERFECTION!

one other question. does this build need the GAPPS zip file to complete google apps installation? or is it prebuilt into the install package?

That looks awesome. What theme are you using / how do I get it? What background is that?

Update: I got it. It's the Mystic Halo Live wallpaper with the blue Cyanbread theme in CM7 Theme Chooser, for any other noobs like me out there.

You guys made an awesome build.

But I have a small problem. I think it's only me, but...

When I try to wake from sleep, it takes 2-5 seconds, and sometimes, it just freezes with a black screen trying to wake from sleep, and the phone restarts. Any idea what this might be?

Im pretty sure that was from the build before the 9-20 one. I haven't had any problems with wake time with the current update! But, then again, there are oddball phones out there!

Using 9/20 right now, not oddball (or atleast I don't think I am).

PS It worked fine on Isaac's build, so there must have been something I messed up in the CM settings, I remember tweaking them quite a bit.

Check out tg's post just above here about the wifi setting in \system . that cured it for me, but the phone will lock up if it goes to sleep with wifi on.

Turning off the wifi sleep is not hard if you want to, but it will cause lockups. Go into /system/etc/firmware/wlan and edit qcom_cfg.ini - change "gEnableSuspend" from "2" to "3".

So can we just do this to isaac's build if we want to fix the wifi lockup to use the overclock kernel?

Any one notice that the screen never turns off when you put it to sleep?? I hit the lock button and left it in my pocket for a while and then looked at it in low light, and the screen is still on. Not showing the lock screen or anything, its just on.

I was updating to the 9/20 build (factory reset) and after selecting reboot my phone is dead. when powering on it constantly vibrates until the battery is pulled. when connected to a computer it detects a drive (100mb MOBILE E:) with nothing in it. any ideas!?? or am i screwed?

Yeah, you can, but I never uploaded a new version with the GPS fix.
That's really no biggie..it never really worked anyways lol...not to be pushy though but do think there's anyway you could upload that kernel or just let me know if theres a way to extract it from your rom myself? it's my gf's phone and she hates it when i wipe everything for some reason lol.

From Tickerguy.....

I went back to the 9/5 version.

Even though it has the bug of wifi lockup, I figured out that once I install the software "QQ", a Chinese software for instant communication, and run it all the time, the wifi will not lock up.

I don't know why. Guess the QQ software keeps the wifi awake?

Wi-Fi sleep is not enabled on my phone. D:

If a log of what happens when I turn my screen on/off/on would help, I'll get alogcat and post it.

OFF TOPIC: Never go into GPStest or any other GPS program and clear/update your agps data. I accidentally pressed it and my GPS gor borked.

i've noticed there's like a 2 second delay for the screen to turn on when waking up the phone. on stock rom the screen turned on instantly. anyone else notice this?

I've read in a couple forums that the new PRL build was in this 9-20 build of Ticker's....any truth to that, and if so, what's the number?
Just curious...if this is wacky info I read, please disregard!

Ticker for president 2012!

Sorry, but how to edit /system/etc/firmware/wlan/qcom_cfg.ini ? I tried vi but I do not have special keys like "esc"...
