Root [ROM] CM7 Nightlies EVO Community

hmm I never get random reboots, is your wifi sleep policy set to "never"?
I would pull the battery and try to boot it again, if it gets stuck again then pull the battery one more time and boot into hboot this time, then recovery and restore a previous nandroid

You should be ok to do a battery pull and try and reboot it. If that doesn't work you will likely have to restore a nandroid to get your phone booted again and see what it was that caused the reboot/bootloop

Beat me to it! :)

I haven't gotten any random reboots that I am aware of either.

Hey guys, how are ya? I'm writing because I'm having a problem. FYI, I'm running CM7 nightly #14 with Savaged Zen .07 an a 0003 EVO.

A few moments ago, I installed a few programs (Pulse, Greader and another I can't recall) and got a low disk warning. Just as I was about to take care of that, the phone randomly rebooted. This happens occasionally, as is to be expected with nightlies, so I've gotten a little accustomed to it.

However, the phone has been stuck in a boot loop on the Cyanogen boot screen for the last 10-15 minutes with no end in sight. The capactive buttons have also been on the entire time, which is odd.

So I'm wondering what I should do. Is it safe to pull the battery and try to reboot it again? Should I let it go and see what happens? Should I try turn it off with the power button and go into recovery, if possible? Something else, mayhaps?

Any help would be really, really appreciated. Thank you.

I think before you nand restore try wiping cache and dalvik first. It happened to me before when I was trying stuff and it fixed the reboot cycle.

Anyone using any facebook picture updater app of some sort. I really liked that feature in sense. I've tried Syncmypix and contapps but syncmypix is not accurate and copied the wrong pictures to the wrong contact and not all are updating. Contapps doesn't do anything at all.

Can someone direct me to where I can download this ROM? I have been wanting to try it but can find a download link for the EVO anywhere, I've checked XDA and their webpage but nothing :(

Ok, so I guess I was wrong about the battery life, I'm noticing now its actually pretty bad, so I guess I'm gonna give a different kernal a try, any suggestions?

BTW I'm running nightly 14 with no issues other than the battery life...

I am using Savage 1.6-CFS-HAVS-Wimax(SBC version) and have great battery life(50% left after 15 hours off charge and moderate use.

savage is not GB or Froyo specific, but Savaged-Zen is, so make sure you get the proper kernel is you are geting SZ

Ok so I gave Savage 1.6 a try and did some test. I noticed in quadrant in the spinning globe it wont go past 30fps vs 45-47fps with stock cm7 kernel. I've over clocked at 1.15. Also Nenamark isn't as smooth. Otherwise not a bad kernel. I guess you have to sacrifice something to gain something.

With CM7 RC1 and 2 I am getting force closes of android.process.media every time I try and download something from the market. Any ideas?

How is 17? I've downloaded it already myself, but just wanted to see how it's running first...

i went from 14 to 17 without any problems so far. Seems fast

Battery also seems better i have been streaming musc for about 4 hours on the 2700 Battery and im at 70%

Try flashing the newest g-apps and then run fix perms. That should get you fixed up...

I figured it out, I was restoring the wrong system files from Titanium and it was causing conflicts. Apparently I'm not the only one that had that problem haha.

I'm still on #17 and it's been working great for me. Much smoother and battery seems a little better. GPS is working with the fix as well. I want to try # 19 but does anyone know what's been updated or changed?

I'm still on #11, running pretty smooth. I was planning on updating, which # woudl you guys recomend? Any big changes?
Also when updating do I need to do a fresh install or can I just flash it on top of the older nightly? Thanks!
