Root [ROM] CM7 Nightlies EVO Community

All I wiped from cache and davlik, then flashed over nightly #11, everything is running freaking awesome, using honeybread theme! I love it!

I dont understand the black on black text thing???I havent seen this, what is it exactly? I'm running savaged zen kernel with Destroyer as well and it rocks!

yea that whole thread is freaking hilarious lol!!!

I think he fixed it. Rc1 all text fields were black and all text were black .....you couldn't see anything. It was bad enough that I abandoned the rom.

Black on black I think is only an issue in the default theme. If you switched themes you don't have that problem.

I tried flashing this ROM today for some reason I couldn't sign into Google to have it sync. This alo happened with another ROM I tried as well. Has anyone else come across this problem?

Did you flash the Gapps zip after you flashed the rom?

And of course what would a bad a$$ rom like Destroyer be without an upgrade... [ROM]D2-THE RETURN a.k.a THE SEQUEL...... Destroyer V2... I've flashed it all of 5 minutes ago... no opinion, but wish it kept the boot screen. Its got a new one, very cool just I liked the Destroyer 1 version... We'll go get it guys / gals and lets see what this one entails!

New Rom and Gapps. Same process. I would use the wipe all zip, flash the rom, reboot and then go back to recovery to flash Gapps.

Oh and the market icon has changed to a stack of hundred dollar bills... doesn't go with the theme in my opinion. Otherwise so far so good... Update later tonight!

UPDATE.... FC issue after first reboot... flash at your own risk.... nandroid time~!

Man, I flashed this rom the other day, and i gotta say.... FRIGGIN SA-WEET!!!!!! Im getting stellar battery life(well, stellar in comparison to Konis ES2) I love the lock/unlock animations etc etc etc... overall, very impressed!!

cm #28 I am not sure if this was already broken or if it just started within the last couple of nightly's

but I use Soundclouds app for streaming alot and today I was getting errors everytime I tried to stream some music and after reinstalling the app a few times and then I figured it out.

I turned of wimax and went to 3g it works without problems, as soon as I turn on wimax i get errors.

has there been problems streaming music with 4g or is it isolated problem with Soundclound.

I've flashed and reflashed so many times and don't remember which Build I'm on... 20 or 21 maybe... anyway. Today was the first time I used Wimax at the gym. I used it to watch some youtube as I ran, thought I'd watch some Akira or whatever and it worked fine for the 2 minutes I had it on, but the audio was to low to enjoy the video and so I quit it and went back to power amp to play my music. 30 seconds into the song and my phone just reset... I think WiMax is the culprit... just sayin. French mentioned the Kings 2.3 rom... anyone try that?

So I kinda just wanted to give a little info about swype with CM7. I have off and on had some issues getting swype to stay loaded as default, and disabling between reboots that was starting to cause a real annoyance for me, so I started playing around with it to figure out how to get it to work correctly. What i finally figured out was to set my location for apps to be installed to internal, then cleared cache and uninstalled both swype and swype installer, then redownloaded swype installer from the beta invite email, and installed it. Then I ran the installer and installed swype again, and followed the swype installer all the way thru selecting swype from the installer and continuing til selecting FINISH in the swype installer program.

I then set my default install location back to external, which has nothing to do with the swype install, once you selected FINISH in the swype installer program, you were finished with that, but my preference is to install apps to the sd card.

ok, so im getting a weird vm message from 9016, i seem to recall there being a thread about this, but cant recall what to do.... any help would be truly appreciated:)

You might need to use a different message app like handcent to blacklist 9016 so you don't get those messages every time you get a voicemail.

Is anybody using CM7 with the Tiamat 3.3.1 kernel? I am using noSBC/CFS version and I am seeing some quick drops of battery at random times when I view my battery history. I'm not doing any heavy usage during these times, at least nothing outside of checking email, text or maybe checking out a website. Maybe a battery stats wipe is all I need? I'm talking like 7-10% quickly and then it evens out. It's the first time I've noticed it, so maybe I should just switch back to the stock kernel.

Oh, and I checked Spare Parts and I don't have any issues with a partial wake lock.

I'm at 53% battery and off the charger for 9 hours with light use, so I suppose that's pretty good and I shouldn't complain.

I am running Destroyer v2(CM7RC2 based) on Tiamat 3.3.1-SBC. I have not had any issues with it that have been obvious yet. It has only been a couple days though and the last 2 have been pretty heavy use days. It seems to hold up well though as I still have 40% or so left after 17-18 hours moderate to heavy use.

How are you liking that Kernel compared to Savaged Zen? I'm on Destroyer V2 as well FTW!!

BTW have you been able to successfully use the animation changer app? Only time I tried I got a bootloop and had to nandroid

I haven't tried the animation changer as I saw the posts about issues before trying it. :)

I haven't tried Savage Zen since version 0.1.0. I had issues with it and haven't tried it again as yet. Testing out Tiamat 3.3.1 right now with great results so far

Well I'm running nonSBC, so my battery life obviously won't be quite as good, but overall it seems to be working pretty well. After looking over my usage history, I think there is really only one weird drop that doesn't seem like it should have been quite as big (phone was sleeping, screen off etc) but I'm kind of starting to think it's just the kernel settling in. I'm at 14 hours off charger now and 26% remaining. Not really heavy usage I guess, but that's still not bad for 14 hours.

I was running conservative with a screen off profile of conservative (245/245) and I actually decided to uninstall SetCPU and just go with the smartass governor. So we'll see if that yields any better results. I'm also not overclocking at all.

I run pretty much only the SA governor with 245/1152 as my min/max with great results on mine and my wifes phones. She is a heavier user than I am and still gets 20 hours or so out of her battery unless my kids decide to play angry birds;)

LOL yeah that will kill it every time for sure.

And the phone seems to respond better with Smartass for me, so I'm sticking with it for now.

Loving the battery life on Cyanogen 7 RC2 w\ SavagedZen-0.2.1-CFS-HAVS-WiMAX-GB-signed. Won't be able to test 4G for awhile. Anyone have this setup and have tested 4G?

Have you tried the Tiamat kernels yet? I am thinking of checking out SZ to see if I get better battery life, but it seems like most XDA peeps say that Tiamat runs smoother, so I'm kind of hesitant to mess with SZ.
