Root [ROM] CM7 TG-Reloaded (Final: 03-25)

Just download AdAway from the market. It will keep your host files updated and it's free.

I prefer to keep this a user-customizable setting rather than built-in default. In case it breaks some apps, the app developers need ads to support their work in their free versions anyway.

Is there an area here for overclocking questions for this ROM, which app to use and what are some safe settings?

It's built into CM Settings, every phone will have different max frequency it can use before rebooting or being flaky.

/agreed.

Personally, my belief is that if you don't want to see ads in an app, then pay for the app's "pro or non-ad version" (or hope it becomes the faotd someday :)). Developers spend time developing their apps and I would assume most (if not all of them) would like a little money out of it even if it's just from the ads.

As others have said, many devs work hard to put their apps on the market and so, the ads generate revenue. While they're a bit annoying, it's nothing that I mind terribly. I readily pay for apps I think are worth the money, and keep the free versions of the ones that don't.

I recently received a replacement phone that has the older hardware (seven bar codes). It replaced a six bar code phone. The touch accuracy works better on the older hardware phone, but (with TG Reloaded) i've had several random reboots and it just seems a little more schizo than the new hardware. Hopefully I can get a sixer the next time around!

Interesting. Would you do me a favor? List your hardware proerties with something like Phone Tester.

The ones I have are: Accelerometer BMA150, Bosch Sensortec
Comapss MS-3C Orientation, Yamaha Corporation
Magnetic field sensor MS-3C Magnetic Sensor, Yamaha Corp.
Proximity sensor LTR502 Proximity Sensor, Liteon corp
Light Sensor LTR502 Ambient Light Sensor, Liteon

I don't see any other parts listed. I am curious if there is different hardware in the phones.

Brand new user of the MT, coming from the OV. The phone had the stock OS on it for about 3 hours before I rooted, enough to make sure the 3G connection was activated.

My big issue so far is that WiFi takes an inordinate amount of time to activate. From the time I swipe down and toggle WiFi in the notifications window, it takes about 20 seconds for the 3G icon to switch over to WiFi. Is this a known issue? I wanted to see if it was a known issue before wiping and re-flashing to exclude any user created issues. Otherwise I'm really happy with the ROM. Thanks for all the work!

I think it's common. I've never been able to quickly connect to wireless after turning it on. Twenty seconds actually seems pretty quick, but I've never timed it.

Some people claim that if you actually go into the wifi settings (by swiping down and long-pressing the wifi toggle button) to turn it on it connects more quickly. It doesn't seem to help for me but it's something to try...

Once it realises I'm looking at the wifi settings page, it suddenly decides to connect.

My phone has the same specs that you listed. I used Phone Tester just to have the same source as you, but I also used Android System Info to export a list of device info (opengl and camera view enabled, exported as html then saved as txt). You can use that list to compare directly with your phone. I'd be interested to hear any differences if you find any.

My guess is that the hardware changes were more design than actual physical hardware replacement. But I read on another post that the newer revision weighs less so that might mean something?

Yes, this did seem to cut the time in half for me.

I understand that having WiFi on all the time prevents the phone from entering "deep sleep"? Has anyone tested to see how much the battery is drained having WiFi turned on over-night compared to just using 3G? I would like to have WiFi on while I am at work and when I am at home without the battery taking a big hit. Since I just got the phone a few days ago I haven't had the chance to test, but would be happy to do so.

I've decided to sell my Triumph and go back to the trusty old Optimus V until the next VM phone worth buying comes out (The HTC one V looks promising if the rumors are true). The MT's unreliable touchscreen gets on my nerve every time I use it and I can't stand it any longer.

I'll make a final build & test it on the phone before I part with it. It's been quite a learning experience for me the past few months, I'll stick with VM's $25/mo plan since nothing else can beat it for my type of usage. So maybe you'll see me on another VM phone forum.

I think I'm gonna cry...

You don't think you'll get agitated at the performance hit? What kept you from switching back until now?

BTW If anyone wants to buy my Triumph w/ everything that came in original box + an extra 1600 mAh battery (mint condition) + a soft & hard case, PM me. Looking to sell for $180 or more, first/highest offer will be accepted. Otherwise it'll go on ebay tonight. I'll update this post if it's been spoken for.

damn your gonna be missed and so is your work

Good Luck in everything you do !

There is an update to CM7, know RC0 becomes RC1, I know lot's of thing's are already in this current version. But alway's great to have latest update...!!

There are only a few that's not included, usually the RC0 -> RC1 change is just the actual string change. There's a batch of code fixes that are still in pending state.

For me, I've noticed with just 3G on, I get about 1%/hr, with wifi on about 2%/hr. I have almost no apps syncing in the background though. The amount of data actually transferred makes a difference, and that depends on what apps & how often they transfer.

Actually not as much as I thought, my Optimus V can be overclocked to 864 and since I don't do a lot of 3D gaming, the Triumph's higher specs doesn't apply to me. Only thing I do miss is the bigger screen, but I also like the smaller rounded shape of the OV.

Good luck to you Whyzor! Thanks for all your hard work! Also, I recently posted about this, but I was just wondering if you knew a solution. I'm on your current build, and suddenly all SMS cannot send or receive. I restored to a Nandroid that never had problems, and it still cannot send. Any ideas?

Not sure, I can send/receive SMS fine on every build since I flashed CM7. I think I read someone else having SMS issues lately, could be a VM outage in your area. Or try making a Nandroid backup then a fresh install of the ROM, then restore apps/settings until it's broken again (or not). Then you'll know which step caused it.

Yeah, I was thinking there may be an outage, considering this has never happened to me before and I haven't made any changes. Thanks for your quick reply, I'll try that.

Its going to be sad when you leave the Triumph forums. You've done a great deal to improve on where Isaacj87 left off. I am grateful for all the hard work you've done for this phone and hope to see you over at the HTC V forums (if rumors are true) because I might make the switch also. For the meantime I hope someone will pick up your awesome work and try to keep the Triumph forum happy like you've done. I will be sending another donation once I have any leftover money. I hope all goes well for you and again big thanks Whyzor.

So I just did a complete fresh install of your latest build, and still no dice. Cannot send or receive, even with a fresh install! There is also another user in California who has this same problem, but we can call fine. Is there a such thing as just an SMS outage?

I appreciate all that you have done and the attitude you have done it with. I will really miss your input, wisdom, and knowledge. I am truly amazed at how much your ROM has changed my phone.
