Root [ROM] CM7 TG-Reloaded (Final: 03-25)

ive noticed that when scrolling real slow, for example the notification bar , it would scroll from one point to another, ive noticed thison alll the roms ive tryed except the first releases on cm9, where the screen was more precise is the touch sreeen not that responsive ?? or is it a software problem?? anyways great rom!!

Our touch screen does kinda suck. I use an app called phone tester from the market to check what the phone sees for a bunch of stuff.

I've had issuse with the browser not rotating when I switch to landscape mode. I would need to hit the checkmark in it's settings. But I was able to see if it was the phone or not.

Whyzor, any plans for an update in the next few days? I'm planning to do a full system wipe and I didn't want to do that and then have a new version come out the next day. Thanks!

I have not had a reboot yet. Possibly these issues are occurring due to overclocking? Only time I've had a reboot on this rom was due to OC.

Not likely, I haven't overclocked since I flashed this and I've had about 8 random reboots now in about a week... Anyone recommend a good past build that's good all around?

No planned new builds since CM7 hasn't merged a lot of the open stuff on r.cyanogenmod.com, I'll likely build when there's a batch of them merged.

As for all the reports of rebooting & forced closes, I can't fix anything that I can't reproduce. So likely you have some other apps running or settings that's causing problems. See Post #1 again for troubleshooting tips, as usual wipe caches, uninstalling apps & services. make sure the download isn't corrupted. etc. Do use the "Search" feature on this thread and forum for any problems that have been discussed before.

Again, all the confirmed problems are list in post #1. A few game incompatibilities in the new 03-04 build with new GPU drivers, but most games should run smoother on the new GPU driver, otherwise reflash the 03-01 build if there's a game that you need to play on this ROM.

Can also try running a 'logcat' to see which app is causing a crash (google it for instructions on how to setup & use). Also create a shortcut on the home launcher to 'settings - applications - running services'. This comes in handy a lot, & would be the first place to look for apps that are causing problems & uninstall to see if it improves things.

I've got the old issue of screen flickering on and off during a call. I haven't seen that since some old TG releases.
No reboots at all, though.

My MT was performing strangely shortly after installing the 3/4 ROM. The MT would reboot randomly, after leaving it plugged in at night I would need to pull the battery to do a restart, and other bad behavior.Of course it must be the ROMS fault. Damn that Whyzor and that almost perfect ROM. Um, well, maybe not.

I recently purchased two batteries, http://androidforums.com/motorola-triumph/407846-triumph-battery-ebay-2.html#post3987271. Turns out that at least one of these batteries was the culprit. I put back in my original Motorola battery, and I haven't had an issue since - no reboots, no freezes, just a perfectly well-behaved Android smart phone. :D

Therefore, add to the list of possible causes of a poorly behaving MT - bad batteries.

(Note: I never blamed Whyzor and it does annoy me when others implicate him for their own phone issues. I really enjoy these ROMs!)

Thanks for continuing to work on this Whyzor!

03-04 has been very stable for me (I've only ever had one reboot across all TG* ROMs and it was a long time ago).

A mini braindump of what I've got running.

No overclock or undervolt.
Use Go Launcher EX mainly cause I like the folders in the app drawer.
Only use Agenda Widget and it's not on the main home screen.
Turned off all of the graphic animations etc in both Android and Go Launcher.
Wifi works fine. Occasional slowness on loading some web pages but it could be XScope.
GPS works very well. Generally can get a lock within a minute using GPS Status even if I haven't used it in awhile.
Battery life is very good. Easily can go 14-16 hours with 1-2 hours surfing via 3G plus some games and still have around 30% left.
LUKS Manager for encryption works fine.
Google Voice works fine.
Played a variety of games (none particularly graphics intensive) and they all work fine:
Cut the Rope, Drop7, Fruit Ninja PIB, Fruit Sorter, Plants vs Zombies, Slice It, Tilestorm HD, Train Conductor, Where's My Water.

My wife also has a Triumph running 03-01 and hers has been equally as good as mine. Her battery life isn't quite as good cause she uses the Facebook app with notifications on.

Once again thanks!

We all respect and admire Whyzor. I do not think anybody would "blame" him after all that he has been doing. However, I believe it is in the community's interest to provide feedback to him on how the ROMs turn out , even the unpleasant experiences. Some folks may not have the technical expertise or the finesse of expression, but I believe all views should be welcome.

That said, go Whyzor!

FYI I redownload 304 over the weekend and reflashed it and have not seen any issues since so I think I had a bad download originally. Of you having issues you might try starting with a new Download.

I flashed the 3-04 build the day it was posted and I am not experiencing any of these issues. No reboots, excellent battery life, smooth gameplay..

I don't believe there is anything "wrong" with this build. Countless times I have seen people's "issues" being a result of not performing a clean install of the ROM and then when they do a full wipe their issues "disappear". That goes for other ROMs as well.

Guys, please ALWAYS try to do a full wipe/factory reset, (format cache, data, and system) AND wipe the dalvik cache before reporting issues. Even when flashing a newer build of the same ROM.

i just got my phone rooted but i have 1 simple problem i was trying to drag apps from my app brower to the main screen but by mistake i dragged a app to the front app drawer where the phone, app browser, and internet browser icons are

I deleted it but no theres no app brower icon anymore how do i put back the app brower icon back to the way it was.

thank you so much for your time

It'll take more than just replacing the "/system/bin/hdmid" file. CM7 doesn't have any framework support for HDMI in the source, and I don't have a microHDMI cable anyway.

That's why you have to insert it yourself. Use jdgui to look at Motorola's stock framework.jar and replicate the needed code into CM7. I did it for the DroidX and now we have fully functioning HDMI in CM7 with it coming soon to MIUI (video currently works). What I did for the DX won't translate directly as I've already examined a system dump for the Triumph and I can tell things are just different. It's the difference between the Qualcomm MSM8665 chip in the Triumph and the TI OMAP3 in the DroidX. If you're interested, see the link below to see how I did it on the DX.

I'm having weird issues with 3-4 build. Reboots when WIFI is enabled but runs fine if I only have data on. Also crashes every single time I try to run Hanging with Friends, even after an uninstall/reinstall. Tried wipe caches and reload the ROM but no luck....going to try a full wipe/factory reset and reload to see what happens.

If you hold your finger down on the screen (like you would to add a widget) There should be an option for actions usually depending on the launcher you are using.
