Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

The only time I've had mine FC on me was when I use it after I haven't used it in a while. After that it doesn't FC any more while using it. This browser is way faster than Dolphin too. I was comparing them yesterday and I can see a big difference in speed.:D
 
Wow! Amazing ROM. I have it paired with the 3D unleashed kernel.

I've noticed the new "roaming" in settings. Does it work? Or anyone have any experience using this feature?

I have a dumb question. Must one reformat in CWM when flashing a kernel as well as clearing the cache? Is it the same with themes? I guess that's two questions. The reason I ask is that I just lost my mms.apk, lol.

I always clear the cache and the Dalvik cache after flashing anything then reboot. Also, when flashing a ROM or kernel, clear the cache and Dalvik then let it boot up completely. After flashing I usually let it sit about 10 minutes then install the kernel. Once the kernel is installed, clear cache and Dalvik again. Hope this help. Also, you can go in to the ROM zip and pull the messaging apk out and manually install it if need be. Personally, I use one from the G Play. I've been running ChompsSMS for about a week and like it a lot. :D
 
About every 2 weeks this ROM crashes, everything FC'ing. I try clearing the cache, fixing permissions, but still exhibit the FC'ing. This is a the second time it has happened. Went back to stock for now.

after you installed it did you restore anything? or manually reinstall and setup everything.
 
Oh wow! CTMod is here as well! :D Great job Bloodawn! I see you retired your Prevail to move on to the Marquee. I may just have to look into getting one myself. As of now, one of my roommates has one and I figured I'd see what ROMs were out there for it and low and behold, an awesome Dev is aboard this forum, so I know the Marquee owners are definitely in good hands when it comes to customizing their devices!! Woot! :D

I activated my Marquee not too long after I released CT so I use that as my main phone now.

I still have my Prevail and dev on it, mostly it just sits on my desk in airplane mode tho. I get almost a month of battery life out of it now lol.

Went ahead and tried out the Chrome to phone too and it works perfectly.

Oh, internet has been down in my neighborhood for the past 5 hours. I've been using my hotspot and it's working flawlessly. LOL, I'm using it to access the internet on my PC so I can send bookmarks to my phone and it's handling both connections with no problem whatsoever. :thumbup:

If you are using ZVC you shouldn't need to fix the MMS. The newest CTMod already has it built in. If by some chance your MMS is not working just follow the instructions in this link to fix it.:D

If it still doesn't work after you have tried this, I would start from scratch and re-install the rooted update and then flash CTMod. If you are installing one of the kerenls, make sure that you install each zip 1 by 1 letting each fully boot up before installing the next. I would also clear the cache then go to ADVANCED and clear the Dalvik cahe after each flash then reboot.

Example if using ZVC:

Install ZVC rooted image-clear cache & Dalvik-reboot. Install CTMOd-clear cache & Dalvik-reboot. Install kernel-clear cache & Dalvik-reboot.

I agree with ya. These are good peoples. If it weren't for blood I believe we would all still be stuck on stock. Monster did release Marky beats ( which was nice btw) it still had its limitations. Then ctmod, and the 3d kernels came along and now this phone is great. All we need now is ctmod 4.0 ics :D
 
Installed this last week with no problems other than Swype not working. I get the blue flashing box around the keyboard. I downloaded and installed the beta and it said it can't be installed on phones that came preloaded with Swype, then went back to the flashing blue box. Anything else I can try? Thanks! Otherwise, huge improvement over stock!

By the way, I ordered two 3500mah batteries from China off ebay and they work great. Like $25-$30 for two with two cases and a charger. I can usually get through the bulk of the day with one charge. Makes the phone fatter but I don't care.

If you get a chance in the future my one request would be to enable the notification led on the Marquee. I am assuming it is in the hardware, just not being used (to the left of the front camera?). If not, we can use one or more of the bottom button leds.

The Marquee, for some unknown reason did not come with a notification LED. See this thread for some other options: http://androidforums.com/marquee-all-things-root/520652-notification-light.html Good luck, let us know if you find something better.

like tombob said, the marquee doesn't have a notification led.

what your talking about next to the front camera is the proximity sensor.

LOL! I hear ya! Unfortunately, I left my Prevail in Walmart about 2 months ago and never got it back... Screwed up thing was Boost had just rewarded me a free month of service... so I kept calling it and getting my voice mail.. unfortunately, I had the GPS disabled... It was on CTMod at the time as well... but, anyways... I am thinking about getting something very soon... just reluctant to figure out what seeing now that Straight Talk also has a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) with GSM sim card, etc. I was thinking of getting the Samsung Galaxy S2 or the Infuse 4g... just not sure which yet..
