Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

on the goo manager it has download gapps packages > what are the zip files ?

gapps is google apps. its for roms like CM7/CM9 that don't include them, so you have to flash a gapps zip to install google play, talk, search, the required frameworks and libs and stuff like that.

Oh god, is there a way I can back up my stuff on my SD card? Should I flash the Kernel 2.0 first or the CTMod?

EDIT: And what are these themes I'm seeing in the front page and how do I apply them?

it doesn't wipe your sdcard. CTMod 3.68 includes HYPER 2.0, so just flash the rom.

you flash the themes just like anything else.

thanks bloodawn for all your hard work and efforts, love the rom and kernel very smooth. feels like a new phone again :D. and all the other devs out there to make this phone so nice... thanks again.

Well after many issues with my phone I used my BB extended warranty and got a new one :)

Blood 3.6.8 w/hyper 2.0 is the sh!t bro... Absolutely great work man!

The battery life bump up is huge, and as for the kernal I left it at stock and have had practically no lag what so ever at those settings

The built-in hot spot still only connects locally to my puter, but I used wireless tether v2.0.7 with success to get around that...woohoo

The one issue that hasn't been brought up in post that I have encountered in all ctmod so far is BT volume change.
I use BT headsets extensively and noticed that when in a call and you adjust volume all is good until the screen shuts off and you hit the power button to turn it back on the volume jumps way up and you need to re-adjust it again.

Hopefully it is something that could be fixed in a future version.

Anyway, sorry for the long post guys.

Thanks Blood for the hard work bro... you rock!!!

minor problem but while messing with the camera/camcorder and going in, backing out and and starting the app again. there was a bunch of times where it was not able to connect to camera which I found odd. If i waited a while or kept trying a bunch of times it would eventually start.

wondering if anyone else has that problem or new why that happened?

other than that, everything is smooth. thanks!

I've been having the same problem not being able to connect to my camera. I thought it was a hardware problem. If I'm using the quick launch button on the side of the phone I can press it again and always get to the camera. If it's an application that is trying to use the camera then there's no way to force it.

that's odd bc me messing with the quick launch button was how i noticed it! haha. whether it's through widget or side button same result.

the only little trick i can do is that if i get in to camcorder before camera works i can slide the switch over to camera mode. (i just keep clicking back and forth until one of them starts)

Why can't the store "remember" what apps you have downloaded? It's tied to the gmail account anyway!

Great ROM. Will download!

on the market hit menu > my apps and swipe to the right, theres a list of every app you ever installed on your account starting with the most recent.

How to change the clock in locker screen? The grey/white stickers are difficult to read.
How to change the wallpaper w/o installing any theme? It's too bright for most app icons.

Thanks!

you change the wallpaper just like always, long press on the screen and select wallpapers.

the lock screen clock's font is coded in, so the only way to change it is use a theme that changes it or replace the clock fonts in /system/fonts with different ones.

Hey Bloodawn,

Great work as always... I use Font Installer from the market to change fonts. You need to use preferences and check AndroidClock.ttf and AndroidClock_Highlight.ttf to change those fonts. Works but you may need to fix permissions via cwm to change to different ones in the future.

And I don't know if this helps, but for those trying the min settings, in the link that Bloodawn posted above about governors and such, there is a section about underclocking the processor too low and battery usage... it may be more beneficial to keep it in the 200 and above range.

hope this helps...
