Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

sooo, Im going to assume this rom is dead then?

You'd be wrong if you assumed so. This ROM is fine and a lot of people here are still using it. That probably won't be true once there is an ICS beta release, but for now, this ROM is alive and kicking...

3.68 will probably be the final release for CT unless they put out a system update worth updating the rom.

My main focus is going to be on MIUI and Hyper kernel now. I'll be adding some of my speed tweaks and shit tho to MIUI.

cool thanks, I figured as much with how well the other seems to be coming along.

you wouldnt happen to know anything about what could cause the weird governor would you?

internet searches pull it up as kind of a phantom thing that pops up in all kinds of different roms but none of the results Ive pulled say anything about a cause or solution.

like now, it hasnt changed at all in almost two days but sometimes Itll change 5 or six times in one day, randomly and for no apparent reason. Ive tried everything to recreate the situation and force it to change governors on me with no luck.

Now, whats that?

Its always been fine for me so I dunno. it could just be a conflict with something.

Is MIUI based on ICS as well? The screens you posted in the other thread look sick.

I love the rom, but have an issue. The phone will freeze every 1-2 days. I then need to yank the battery out to get it to respond. I'm using the latest version of CTMOod. Haven't installed any themes. Voltage control is using the default setting. I increased the minimum to 500 to see if that would help but still freezes every 1-2 days.

Any suggestions?
i am having the same issue. I think i may go back to an older version. I never had these system crashes with the other ctmod versions and they worked great.

i hate voltage control. i had system crashes with it and random governor changes! switch to setCPU and everything worked fine

I think it may be voltage control as well I'm running marky beats with blood dawns kernel and get the random freezes. So i know it's not a ROM thing.Gonna try setcpu

CT mod has been awesome for me. No crashes whatsoever. Looking forward to what Blood does with ICS.
If you've never seen or used MIUI it's pretty much just like iOS. It takes away the app drawer. It looks like the offspring from iOS and Touchwiz. Some people like it. Many android purists detest it.

If you like MIUI and want an app drawer you can install ADW and it will add the app drawer for you.

I don't have this phone, but my three sisters are running 3.68 on their marquees. All of them have .acore FCs, and many other FCs, and pesky notifications about roaming. How can I install the rom to avoid the FCs? Do I have to follow some procedure like the one below, or should I use gooManager to install a different gapps? Thanks.

1) In recovery, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, go into advanced and wipe dalvik cache and battery stats.
2) install ROM
3) repeat step 1
4) reboot and DO NOT TOUCH THE PHONE FOR **TEN** MINUTES
5) reboot into recovery, go to advanced and fix permissions and reboot.

I dont know where to start so I thought I would start here if no one objects. I was running CTMod 3.68 until today when my phone froze. Black screen but the back light appeared to be on. The phone will not start without taking out the battery first and when it goes on I see the S/W Updating screen for a little while and then it goes off again. I think by pressing vol up and camera and then plugging in usb I got the Hyper Kernel logo screen and then off again. I cant boot to CWM.

Any ideas or where I should start?

Unplug the phone from your computer
Pull the battery
Hold down the power button for like 5 secs
Put the battery back in
Hold down vol-down + power for 30 secs and see if it boots to cwm

I was able to get to cwm by slightly modifying these steps. I got there by holding vol down + power and then plugging in to a wall charger. If I reversed those two steps it would immediately go to the S/W Updating screen and then turn off.

I think I'll go ahead and wipe cache and dalvik cache and then reinstall CTMod 3.68. Will post an update soon.

thanks!

update: so far so good. But the charging is very slow. I noticed this before my phone went nuts but it seems even worse now. In 45 min of charging it only went from 8% to 15%

Standby time is lovely:)

Just a random thought, but since everyone knows CTMod is the tits for speed, wouldn't it be awesome to have a IceCTMod? ICS on speed. :D

What's a good solid CPU setting for this ROM for average daily use??? And not running anything that very game intensive other than a game or two of Angry Birds....
