Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

Was on my way to work this morning running Map My Ride and Pandora which I have done numerous times and I believe Pandora was in between tracks the phone just cut off. Power button would not work, had to pull the battery and then it would power up.....battery had dropped to 80% from a full charge but that was it, no other issues from what I could tell. Anyone else ever experience this??

The screen from my old Optimus S would lock up from time to time and never just randomly power down...

the phone was still on, just froze.

it was a bug in the kernel, usually makes the phone freeze if its on for a couple days. I've been too busy lately to fix it.

I'll try to upload a new kernel tonight and hopefully it fixes it.

No I think it actually was powered off...my optimus S, the back lights on the buttons were still lit, so you could tell the device was still on just in a frozen state....

No lights, and no other indication that the device was still on just frozen....

The screen was off, the phone wasn't. If it was actually off then you wouldn't of had to do a battery pull for the power button to work.

if that was the apk you were installing try deleting the old first. there exist newer versions but they maybe ics and jb

That was the first thing I tried and it still wouldn't install properly. I figured it had to do with permissions. However with my work schedule as nutty as it is I haven't had a chance to play around with it.

Try blood's apk installer. Just make sure you rename the apk correctly our you will end up with 2

I will look for it. If I can't find it where can I get it?

Nevermind found it. Thank you. Will try it out.

to anyone having the "cannot connect to camera" problem when trying to access the camera every now and then, I've found a way to get it to work every time i've tried so far.

Set the quick launch key to camera.
Any time the cannot connect msg pops up whether it be from the quick launch button or from the widget, just hold the quick launch key to relaunch the it(while the msg is still on your screen don't click ok) and then the camera will work.

I don't know how many times it's annoyed me that I want to snap a quick pic and I have to keep trying to access my camera!

Man, one more thanks to you blood.

after I replaced my battery (after the severe overheat) my battery life has been simply amazing. I remember when I first got this phone I was pissed off because I could only get 6-9 hours out of it. Now I have to try, and try damn hard to kill the battery in 18- 24 hours.

Thanks man
