Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

Hey Blood. Thank you for the new ROM. I do have a weird issue cropping up. Even though I am connected to a AP the wifi says it Obtaining IP Address all the time. Its a continual issue. But that is the only issue.

I have a question. what is the difference between the Hyper 2.0 Kernel and the Hyper 3.0 Kernel? Just curious

I don't really know the specifics on what he changed. I do know that he basically said it was the 1.5 kernel with the camera fix.

new test kernel - HYPER-GB-Test3.zip

its hyper 1.5 with just the camera fix added, so it shouldn't freeze at all. if it does let me know.

After flashing this rom, I opened lucky patcher to patch a few apps.

If I hold the app down to select it, I don't see an option for "custom". If I select "remove google apps" it tells me: Your root access has errors. You must have true root access to continue. Please update busybox or su and update binary through it." I already downloaded busybox, superuser & Superuser (ICS) & still get these messages.

And when I click on the app "Root Checker Basic" it says: "Congratulations! This device has root access".

What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Blood, this Rom is amazingly smooth. The kernel alone has made a world of difference, and as long as it doesn't get all laggy and weird after a couple days of use, I'll be quite happy :) Thanks for everything you've done for us, we'll miss having you developing for this one.

Wrong place to be asking about patching apps. bud.

I tried that. I restored the phone using a earlier 3.68 backup and the problem went away. So it is a 3.75 issue.

Have you double checked to make sure it's not capitalizing the first letter in your password on the new ROM when you enter it? Also, a battery pull may help. Leave the battery out for at least 1 minute.

Have you tried to connect to another router?

I've found that some phones can and will react differently to apps and ROMs. What works perfect on 1 phone will not necessarily work perfect on the next. Hopefully that's not the case here and it's just a setting that's messed up somewhere. Keep an eye out to see if anyone else is reporting the issue.

Mine is working great. Like I mentioned earlier, I've connected to several routers already and it worked without a hitch. Matter of fact, I haven't had any issues whatsoever. I've even got the ZRAM enabled and all is working as it should.:thumb:

Hopefully you can get it figured out.

I have the phone scan for AP's the password is a 36 digit password that I have used for a few years and I checked several times to make sure it was correct. I have connected to 3 other AP's and after 30 minutes that same problem creeps up and those 3 are public hotspots that don't require a password or MAC authentication. I have pulled the battery more times then I care and left them out for a minimum of 5 minutes. I have done everything except get a virgin to sacrifice.

I have run CT 3.68, and both the ICS and JB from being developed on this site for this phone. And 3.75 is the ONLY one that does this.

And I have cycled the router 3 times I even did a factory reset of the router as a final act of desperation. Any ideas?
