Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

Verson 3.75 Final release
Upgraded kernel to HYPER v3
Fixed the phone freezing after being on for a couple days
zRam can be enabled by editing S07HYPER in /system/init.d
Removed flashlight widget since it doesn't work
Redid the Power Menu and added Hot Boot
Cleaned build.prop
Cleaned init scripts
Updated Play Store, Xperia, File Explorer and GooManager to newest versions
Switched from Superuser to SuperSU
Switched from Chrome to Boat Browser
New loading bar
New wallpaper
New boot and shutdown animation
New wifi icon
New Settings layout

Themes for older versions will break new features and/or fixes.
To enable zram follow the instructions in S07HYPER. for info on what zram is click Here and scroll down a little.

This will be the last version I release for CTMod. I started this project on October 18, 2011 trying to make the lightest, fastest, most stable ROM I could and I think it is now at the point where I can call it complete.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, helped test and left feedback, this wouldn't be where it is today without you guys.
 
Blood, I just wanted to say thanks for this awesome ROM. I was fortunate enough to have been there from the very beginning back in the Prevail section and was able to see this ROM evolve into what it is today. It has also been an honor to have be a part of the testing and development of CTMod. On top of all that, I've made a friend who has taught me so much along the way. Thanks for everything bro.

But I too was along for the ride since the beginning, and what fun it has been to watch and experience the development. Your contributions to the development for not only this phone, but others as well can not be argued.

Is activating zram something that is preferred?
Also is it something that helps the freezes or was that something completely separate?

it doesn't install normally so you need to add it to either /data/app or /system/app

zram just helps with ram, its not required, thats why I didn't enable it by default.

the freezing problem that hyper 2.0-2.2 had was cpu related.

will you leave develop for a while or are you planning work in something else, like JC/CM10 maybe? because I noticed a few days ago that you made some contributions helping tdm in that thread.
Would be good to know if we will still have your knowledge around here or you'll take a deserved time off :D
 
I can remember way back when CT first came out for the Prevail. It has been a privilege to test and be a part of this wonderful rom. It has came a long way Blood. Without your work and efforts we wouldn't have any where near the badass phones we have today. Thanks for all your hard work bro! :cheers:
 
Anyone else having a problem when going to a custom ROM where the phone can't get on the cell network, both voice and data? It just shows a red X and Searching... Other times it connects to Verizon only and it doesn't connect, it says it cannot provision or something to that effect. If I go back to the stock Sprint ROM and then back to a custom ROM it usually fixes it.

My service is via Ting (a Sprint reseller). Anything special I need to do to back up when running the Sprint ROM and then restore in the custom ROM? Any potential "crapware" app from the Sprint ROM that I might need to run under the custom ROM?

so your not using sprint or boost but your trying to use a sprint rom? I don't know what kind of changes ting requires, each carrier is different, even the ones that still use sprints network. and if you did get cell signal I doubt MMS would work for you since the apn's built into mms.apk would be wrong.

I still have 3 other phones to release CT 3.75 for, after that I'm taking a break.

I think the stock Ting ROM is just the Sprint ROM as all the Sprint junk shows up, Sprint ID, that Sprint Now screen, etc. It really looks like Sprint. As a side note, the device I bought refurbished from Ting (great deal for around $40 shipped with a coupon) and it says "boostmobile" on it :) So yeah, it's the franken-phone.

I can use the phone just fine for both voice and data on Ting with the rooted stock Sprint ZVC ROM and on CTMod 3.68 too. It's just that sometimes if I flash custom ROMs a lot to play with various versions the phone loses some setting and it stops working until I go back to the stock (rooted) Sprint ROM and then back to a custom ROM. Does it have anything to do with the PRL settings or APN?

I don't really care for MMS working, I have TXT/SMS turned off for my phone anyway (via the Ting web site) as I use Google Voice for that.

Thanks. Sounds like I want a CWM backup before I attempt to install 3.75 I assume there's no upgrade to 3.75 from 3.68 that preserves apps and settings, right?

nope. theres ways to fully transfer everything but since this is the final release I'd just redo your apps and settings so theres no problems.
 
Just a note to see if anybody else is having the same problem my HBOgo, xfinity and Netflix skip on the .75 went back to .68 and problem is gone....
