Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

I noticed that even the phone shows roaming on call and data, it still uses Sprint 3G Data and minutes. Sprint 3G Data Roaming shows 0. It might be some kind of software problem.

theres been 284 sprint downloads and you two are the only ones to report any issues with cell service so theres really nothing I can do. nothing with cell/data is any different than it has been with any other version of CT and if it was actually broke in the rom, it would be for boost users too since all that stuff is the same in both rom's.

only thing I can suggest is maybe to try flashing the stock ZVC rom, do a update for PRL and Profile with it, then redownload and reflash CT. if that doesn't work then I dunno what the problem is.

+1 this helped me one time when I tried to do a PRL update from CT, the signal was not very good and I guess it just corrupted the stored PRL and the cell connection was gone. I flashed the rooted ZVC, went to an area with strong signal, updated the profile and PRL, verified all was good, then flashed back to CT and it was still good.

My internet has been weird today and yesterday as well but then again I've only just started looking since I've been on wifi...not sure if it is the network or what but the majority of the time I try to turn on data it will show 1x instead of 3g. I'm in my house and/or out in the open where there should be good-perfect signal and it doesn't even jump back and forth from 3g to 1x it just sits on 1x. How odd...

edit: A reboot in to recovery to wipe cache and fix permissions (although I have no idea if that does anything) seems to have kicked it back in to 3g...I wonder if I'm doing something while the phone is on but it was only after a while being on that it stayed on 1x. When I woke up this morning I turned off wifi to check data and it was 3g and then 2 hours later i checked it and boom 1x

I can confirm, i'm on Spring and don't have issue with signal ;)

Yeah me neither. The weird thing is after I did the logcat I switched to Megatron and your latest OC Kernel and Updating the PRL and Profile worked fine. Maybe that had the same effect as using the Stock? I will try another install today and see what happens. Thanks again.

I did not say this is not great ROM. I used CT3.75 since it came out. Never had issue except the bluetooth (fixed). I just tried to figure what's wrong.

Bloodawn, I flashed stock rooted ZVC rom from your another thread, updated for PRL and Profile. Still no luck. I will try it again tonight or tomorrow. Will update later.

I feel this ROM is very stable and snappy. No reboots or freezes. For those that are running without issue that's great.
 
love this rom. super fast, super stable, and battery life is great.

however, im on sprint and now its roaming like liu and ink. its weird because it was perfectly fine for about a day, then all of a sudden, perma-roam.
 
I've been experiencing a weird thing.

This happens in any application where I attempt to type- either in messaging, within a browser, etc.

I tap on the text window to bring up the keyboard. I begin typing, and nothing is displayed in the text window-- yet the auto correct keeps changing to offer suggestions for the letters I've just typed. If I press enter to tap on a "send" button within the browser to confirm the message, nothing is sent because nothing was actually typed.

It is as if the keyboard software (Swiftkey, by the way) is operating independently from whatever software interface it should be providing input for.

Is this strictly a Swiftkey issue, a kernel issue, or? I do not remember experiencing this on the prior version of ctrom.

This doesn't happen all the time, but it happens frequently enough that it's a problem.

Sounds like a bug with the app. Try clearing it's data and rebooting.

Sad to say, add me to the group with the roaming problem. Telephony worked fine until I manually updated prl and system profile update. Now I am roaming everywhere at1x

Why'd you update it if everything was working fine?

Apparently you guys are getting corrupt prl's. So I wouldn't mess with it if it's working.

Yeah, blind tinkering has its dangers.

So now that we've downloaded corrupt prls, how to replace it with a healthy one? I have cleared my cache and dalvik, fixed permissions and finally restored to a previous state. Still experiencing the 1x roaming problem :(

try making a backup, flash stock zvc and update the prl, then restoring your backup.

if it doesn't work you'll have to manually fix it doing something like this: http://androidforums.com/marquee-all-things-root/677348-phone-did-prl-update-now-no-service.html

I reflashed the stock rom, fought with it a bit (it went into unending loop for a while but a factory reset cured it), downloaded PRL, then realized that redownloading the stock rom (kdz) wiped out my root. So I had to re-root, reinstall CWM, finally able to restore to a prior state, and when I did so the thing was so slow and laggy it was unusable. So I reinstalled CT 3.80, and I'm basically back to new install except.... I'm still roaming with 1x. Shit.

I guess I learned my lesson about playing around with PRLs. I had no idea they could explode in my face like this.

Mine stared to do this without doing a PRL update. I feel your pain.
 
Have folks on the updated ROM successfully streamed music over Bluetooth? Mine streams for about a minute or two, then stutters, then dies (and kills the phone with it). But this phone was underwater for a couple minutes about a year ago -- and for some reason I didn't really try to stream using it until Blood cam out with the updated ROM -- so I don't know what the cause is. It would help me out if someone can confrm that Bluetooth audio streaming is working fine on this ROM.
