Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

I apologize for having to ask this question, but it's been a while since I updated/did a full rebuild, and I lost all my notes...

I Odin'd back to stock and FA19 w/ CWM and then applied this new 3.4 ROM and it's great BTW...

My question is this... My internal storage use (with the same apps installed) is radically greater than it was under my older CTMod ROM install...

Anyone have any idea what I may have missed or what else I need to do to reduce my internal storage use?

Read the OP and covert your internal to your SD card. You will need to format your sd card to the sd-ext size that you want too . When I was running the data2ext , I had 2gigs worth of internal space . You can always use the SSM too , that's what I'm using . With all of my apps installed I've still got over 130mb of internal left .

I followed the OP to the letter... I did add an SD-ext partition of 4096 (I have a 32GB Class 10 card) and a swap of 0.)

On my old setup I was using Apps2SDGUI... Is that app what reduced my internal usage? I didn't think we needed to (or were supposed to) use one of these on 3.4...

I'm sure that I am just confused due to a lack of recent tweak experience... :)

There is a link to the KoumaKernel thread in the OP . The instructions on how to set up the data2ext and SSM are in that thread . Here is the link .

Sorry about that . I should have explained it a little better . It's in the OP under

No problem... figured it all out. Started from scratch, and now I am setup SSM... all good. I may go to the full /data setup at some point, but I want to get a top quality (more reliable) Class 10 card first. I don't have the most confidence in the 32GB Class 10 I have right now...

Now... off to play with the OC settings...

I have a feeling that you're really gonna like the SSM . I've got a class 10 card and I still run it . My card's not the best but I get write speeds between the high 7's and low 9's on the phone . I tested it on my PC and the write speeds are at 10 so it's a decent card . Even though I get good speeds , the full internal to sd lags sometimes with my card . No such problems using the SSM . ;)

I'll leave it the way it is, unless something prompts me to do otherwise. I don't want to risk a non-usable phone due to a bad SD Card ithout a good reason.

And back to subject!

One I do not see the point in overclocking, two I shouldn't have to overclock a rom built for the phone...
Sorry if it sounds bad blood. But I just don't wanna mess with my girl that way.
Ill let her get hot when she wants to.
Not when I want it.

Two
Something interesting happened.....

Don't overclock it then, its a option, not something your being forced to do.

And use a different launcher if you don't like the one that comes with the rom.

Hey Blood, if I want to switch to only the Zeam Launcher would it be as simple as putting the Zeam apk into the system/app directory before I install the rom? Also, how can I go about downloading the apk file itself?

I thought this myself so I tryed to first edit the install zip and changed the launcher apk before flashing it to the phone. It did work but with one major problem. The menu that comes up when you hold down the power button would crash giving me the option to force close or wait. I just updated the kernal. Yea I dont have the new menu but the kernal is updated. Im trying to experiment with doing my own setups for the install zips. And the only thing I see that I did not change on my phone is the launcher. So its all still good.

what do you mean by can't install?
just as said I was trying to install TB it wouldn't take crashed every time. Can you use TB with ctmod? and for the life of me I cant do the ext sd card thing I can get it to do the portion but cant get the apps there. They still are on the internal. More reading for me.

titanium always works for me and you can always go into cwm and go to backups then advanced and restore the sdext for getting back all apps, and as for seeing them on sd you won't it will all be on internal because the sd become part of the internal if all is done correctly. if go to settings and then applications and then all it should say what memory is.

i have like 120 apps and about 1/3 are like 10 to 30 mb each and i have 56 used and 104 free and if you add up all the mb per apps it is about 500mb and only 56 are used so makes sense that is doing its job:D:D:D

don't know how you are installing titanium, but i go to market and have to get again, then put your titanium backup on sd card ,( that is hopefully on pc backed up there) ,then you can batch restore everthing or what you want but don't restore any system apps, will cause problems if on a different mod if you made a backup through titanium you have to extract it through titanium
