Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

What are your settings in voltage control?

I don't think the Voltage Control settings matter in his case..... I mean, yeah, if you overclock and you get only 7 hours instead of 12 than this might be an issue..... but ONE hour ?????? Nahhhhh, still bet that's a battery issue......,

Yeah your probably right. Sometimes batteries will build static. You can short the positive and negative on the battery just for a second and then charge it. May work may not.

Yeah, or charge and completely discharge a few times in a row to get rid of the "memory effect" in the battery, but heck.....ONE hour of working time with the Prevail ??? LOL that battery is a dead sucker I believe.... LOL ;)

I dont use any sdcard mods, i use the rom just like it is after a fresh install. I dont use to many apps anyways. I just use the phone for calls texts and a little web. I think it is just fine now. thanks again blood. i would send you some beer $ blood, but im broke as a joke. Soon....:p

No I didn't. After "install from SD" in recovery I just rebooted. Is that done in recovery after the install? Thanks for helping.

Do I set to data and reboot, or do a fresh install?

You change in settings after you reboot. Then reboot once u make the setting change to data

I love the look and feel of ctmod, but I have two problems, both possibly related. Pandora radio and browser, the Boat one, make the phone horribly slow. It took pandora almost five minuets to get going, which didn't happen on stock, and almost three full minutes to notice that I hit pause. Typing this out from the phone is also incredibly laggy, each letter takes about five seconds to pop up. Everything else seems to run perfectly, even actual call quality has gotten better. Any suggestions?

I had the same problems with Pandora and Keyboard, I havent used pandora for a while so I havent noticed anything but I would recommend a different keyboard I have TouchPal Keyboard V5 and its amazing :)

Well, my guess is, since everything seems to work perfect, it shouldn't be too long...... He said he wants to make some cosmetic changes..... ( LOL ....and heyyyyy, we don't ask about release dates.... Grinnzzzzz )

Ooops! I broke the unwritten rule. That adds an automatic 30 day penalty on the field and loss of down. Darn it!

Hey thanks for the TouchPal suggestion. I've been using Swype Beta for quite some time and started using TouchPal once I saw your post and won't be switching back. Works so much better!

I been using touch pal since my other keyboard lagged so much and I like it cause it's the only keyboard there at I can get voice to text to work, also I use it for both English and Spanish and it also has voice to text in Spanish lol is awesome

This may not be the right place for this, but I need some help please. I'm beta testing a keyboard called SnapKeys which worked in HalfAss Rom but crashes in CTMod. I cleared data and wiped everything like I'm supposed to and I didn't restore from a backup or anything like that. I do plan on emailing the developers about it but I'm hoping someone can help me find the cause so I can make a better bug report.

I don't see a way to attach a file in tapatalk so here is a link to a logcat file from when the keyboard crashes:

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me

Hey guys, I'm having an issue getting the latest CTMod, 3.75.2 working properly. I have installed CTMod in the past with no issues. I'm trying to do a clean wipe. Here are the steps I'm taking and the issue.

Odin rooted FF19 with CWM.
Boot into CWM.
Run sdparted -i and set up partitions.
Mount USB storage and copy SD2EXT4 and CTMod 3.75.2 to SD card.
Run SD2EXT to convert partitions to EXT4.
Install CTMod.
Boot phone.
Change kernel setting to Data.
Reboot into recovery and format sd-ext.
This is where the problem occurs.
When I boot normally, for some reason, Koumamod is denied SU privileges.
It was NOT denied privileges before I wiped sd-ext.

Please give me some insight on what could be wrong. I've used this EXACT method before with no issues and I am STUMPED!!!

I dont think there is any need to wipe again after you switch to data, and i had the same problem with the kernel being denied, just go into the superuser app and tell it to allow koumamod, if that doesnt work, go into your application manager and clear the cache and data for superuser, reboot and it should ask you to allow or deny it this time

Hi,

your problem might be either the sdparted or SD2EXT.......

I never used that with CTMod..... I just used ODIN for FE16 or FF19, copied CTMod onto the sd-card, partitioned and formatted sdext in CWM and installed CTMod. Then I reboot and once the phone is up and running, I go to Settings>>>CTMod Settings>>>Partition serttings and set all my partitions I want. Then I reboot again, and go back to Settings>>>>CTMod Settings>>>ernal Settings and set it to DATA..... then I hold the Power button down for a second and choose REBOOT / RECOVERY..... and RE-FORMAT the sdext again ( if you switch or change kernel settings, you always should re-format the sdext again ) Then a final reboot and YOU ARE UP AND RUNNING !!!!!

Hope this works !!! ;)

I've used UOT before but never with CTMod. Does anyone have any tips as to getting it to work properly? I keep getting an error and the XDA forums scare me.

[edit]
I mean, specifically for CTMod 3.75.2 (which is why I asked in this thread).

Uot kitchen doesn't seem to like the newer versions of ctmod. Any theming will have to be done manually. sorry bro. If you do fine an answer, be sure to let someone know :)

when I get some time I'll probably try to fix SystemUI.apk and post the apk by itself for people to use with the kitchen.

is the app force-closing? cause I don't see any FC going on in the log.

theres a bunch of warnings and shit but nothing that tells me whats going on.

What is UOT ?????

Ultimate Online Theme Kitchen. Google it. It's were you can theme then add it to a ROM by uploading the SystemUI. apk and framework-res. apk. The kitchen will cook your theme and then you download it and flash the zip via CWM or TRWP. It's an awesome site man. It allows you to theme the EASY WAY. lol.

Edit :

Just wanted to add that there are many things that can't be themed with the kitchen. The dialer is one of them.

If you have anymore questions about send me a PM. I don't want to talk anymore about theming in this thread. There's enough going on in here already.

[1] If I wanted to uninstall something that comes with CTMod 3.75.2 Final, such as Boat browser or File Explorer, using say Root Explorer, should all I have to do is just go into /system/app and simply delete the apk file, wipe dalvik and reboot?

[2] What is the difference installing/running an app into/from /system/app as a system app compared to just installing an app the regular way?

thank
