Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

is the app force-closing? cause I don't see any FC going on in the log.

theres a bunch of warnings and shit but nothing that tells me whats going on.

I get a message saying something about it stopped working and I see a button that says force close on it. I set alogcat to show just errors and got the following:

Code:
 --------- beginning of /dev/log/system
--------- beginning of /dev/log/main

Not sure if that helps at all. Maybe I'll just send the logs to the SnapKeys guys and see what they say.

And just in case I just didn't let alogcat run long enough last time I let it go while it crashed two times and got the log at the following link:

[1] If I wanted to uninstall something that comes with CTMod 3.75.2 Final, such as Boat browser or File Explorer, using say Root Explorer, should all I have to do is just go into /system/app and simply delete the apk file, wipe dalvik and reboot?

[2] What is the difference installing/running an app into/from /system/app as a system app compared to just installing an app the regular way?

thank

yea, you can just delete the apk and thats it.

apps in system stay through factory wipes and will always open faster than ones on a sd-ext (which is where apps installed regularly go if your using a SSM or data mode)

dunno bro. looks like its having ram/heap problems with this rom for some reason.

try putting the app's apk in /system/app, delete the old one from /data/app and reboot.

I have a question hoping someone can answer, does it matter which package i use to install clockwork? I.E. FF19rooted, FA19rootedw/clockwork, flashing just the phone and pda files.? i mean, all that touches is the system and radio correct? would say, going back to complete FF19 stock, flashing all of the files in odin, then coming back to ctmod maybe fix some things? because my phone has just been acting weird ever since i flashed clockwork. the battery is terrible, the signal sucks. the phone gets hot alot. and i dont even really use it. could going back to stock possible fix some of these things?

Edit: or this, if originally before i messed with the phone and the phone was on FF19, would it make a difference if i used FA19 or one of the older ones to root and CWM? or should i have used FF19?

correct

I guess that depends on what problems you're having. You could always give out a shot

cwm doesn't have any effect on phone temp, battery life OR signal. BUT the baseband you chose when you flashed the rooted image may effect signal, which in turn effects battery life. As far as temp, are you overclocking it? Because that will DEFINITELY effect temp

.

ok

thank you for your help.

No im not over clocking, i've tryed, 825 is an instant reboot, but i got 945 to work for an hour or two, then i plugged the phone into my computer and it froze and rebooted, so i just run it at stock. still, after 5 or 10 mins of just checking emails or a little web it gets to 90-100F, other than that, the phone just acts weird, one moment it will be running great, then next not so great. the os itself and my data speeds or signal. this is just the only phone ive had that has acted like this. and ive had a few.

I've tryed different basebands, prls, different rom...

Im currently on CTMod final,

Did a wipe, flashed rom, booted and that was it, i dont use any sd mods. my sd card is to slow

One lase thing, if i flash the CSC file will i have to reactivate my phone? or should i be ok?

No such luck moving it to /system/app and changing the permissions and all that. Thanks for trying to help me though. I'll go send those logcat files to the SnapKeys guys so they can take a look at it and try to fix it :-)

Sooo I tried using my beats headphones with the phone to make a call but microphone doesn't work to nor does the button :/ anyway to fix this?

I don't even know what microphone or button your talking about right now bro but blame samsung or beats cause chances are it wouldn't work on the stock rom either.

what file system am i supposed to select? I used the default (MTD), it flashed in recovery, but it didnt change anything??

The file system is ext4 but I think what you're looking for is emmc

 the age old, 'my 4 connector plug doesn't work in this 3 connector hole, even though it fits inside' "problem"

there is a world of difference between 'Headset' and 'Headphones', mostly a mic

installation gave me an error

everything on UOT should work right? lockscreen, windows, overscroll, notification buttons...?

just take the apkinstaller.zip
open it with 7zip, go to system
create a folder inside system called framework
throw framework-res.apk in framework
throw SystemUI.apk in app
close the zip, put it on your sdcard and flash it.

if you have fonts you also need to create a folder in system called fonts, if you have a bootanimation you need to create a folder called media.

This has to be app related? When I use the phone on speaker everyone on the other end hears an echo, which is when they talk, the mic picks it up and sends it back to them. Turn off speaker and the other end people are fine. So just seeing if anyone else has had this happen and what they might have found out what causes it. I know just don't use speaker but at lunch hard to eat and hold phone at same time?

Also I use all the same apps on every version and 3.6 and down was fine. Did it on 3.75 and now on 3.75.2?
