Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

I'm one that tries to figure fixes and not bother anyone, but one more is, The hot boot worked fine and I haven't done anything new and now when I try to use it it just goes back to home screen? Every other option works but that one? This phone I also use CWM if that makes a diff.

Works fine here ( with TWRP ).....goes to home screen, sits there for a couple of seconds, screen goes blank, comes back after 5 seconds or so and it's done !

Must be your "theming and hands-free-lunch-wife-talking" the little Prevail don't like !!!! ROFLMAO !!!! ;)

Must be!! I figured out the echo! It is the eq on on the music player pro. When I turn it off it goes away, was always wondering when I reboot it says eq activated and couldn't figure where from. But still hot boot????

 the age old, 'my 4 connector plug doesn't work in this 3 connector hole, even though it fits inside' "problem"

there is a world of difference between 'Headset' and 'Headphones', mostly a mic

Is this the problem? i see now, I knew some headsets, "headphones" as i used to called them thanks to you, wouldn't work on certain phones. Apparently seems to be my case so i guess i'm screwed oh well. lol

just take the apkinstaller.zip
open it with 7zip, go to system
create a folder inside system called framework
throw framework-res.apk in framework
throw SystemUI.apk in app
close the zip, put it on your sdcard and flash it.

if you have fonts you also need to create a folder in system called fonts, if you have a bootanimation you need to create a folder called media.

I used your files and I finally got UOT to make a zip for me. Unfortunately when I install it only certain things change (the battery icon, scroll bars and overglow) and other things aren't how I set them up (the battery icon still has numbers on it, icons in the status bar didn't change, the bootanimation wasn't installed) in UOT. Is this just a limitation of your ROM, since you've customized it so much already? Or am I just being a dumb noob here?

I have never used UOT, but from the little bit of theming I have done, some things you need to go in deeper to change so doing them there might not mean they are going to take when you apply them. Like I said I have never used it before but have done it the manual way. If anyone knows different please correct me.

I understand. That makes perfect sense. Unfortunately I've got no idea how to do any of those things so I suppose I'm just going to stick with the theme the ROM comes with. lol.

Guspeed has some themes out and I have some and working on some more still, try one of those or look at them and check them out.

I was only saying you could pick one of his or mine/J6's for your enjoyment! I am just learning myself. I will make a step by step for themeing one of these days, but later on. There is so much to learn what is what and what does what and what is for what! A list of what is for what is endless and I haven't learned what all is yet myself! Sorry for confusing you and myself on all the what's, LOL!!!:D:)

Hahaha. It's OK. If I even knew how to get into the files, I'd just start looking into all of it myself. After all, the best way to learn is to just do it. Perhaps you could point me in that direction?

This build of CTMod is easily the best ROM I've ever used so I'd really like to be able to customize the theme exactly how I want it.

When I get a chance maybe tonight I'll pm you some info.

Where was it I found those pink, yellow, red and blue themes for this ROM? After partitioning, I lost that file. :-(
Someone please link me. I searched for hours with no luck.

Did you enable installation of apps from unknown sources?

Menu> settings> applications> unknown sources

Hi Hellboy,

you could try to copy the app you want from the "Apps Backup & Restore" folder to the root of your sd-card and then manually click on it and see if that makes a difference......

Of course, I even unchecked it then re-checked it just to make sure something hadn't screwed up. I already have most of my programs that I want installed on the phone. It's just a couple of things left that I was waiting to install, that won't. I was waiting to install them, so I could get a feel for how this rom was going to act/feel. Much happier with this one, than the last, so I was gonna finish installing everything, but now it won't let me.

What apps are they? Were they system apps when you backed them up? Knowing what ones are being problematic may help with why they won't install.

Actually any app, that I've tried hasn't worked, I'll give you a short list tho, and no, none are system apps.

106.9 WCCC
Ancient Aliens
Android Speedometer
Awesome Jokes
Bullshit Meter Fingerprint Scanner
Chewbacca Soundboard
Dark Theme for PlayerPro
And several others.

delete your current CT zip and download it again
flash the new zip
boot up and set your mode in Kernel settings again
reboot
make sure unknown sources is checked in settings

open the File Explorer and press on APKs
press on the app
there will be a pop-up, check Use by default and select Package installer
now you just hit Install

if it still doesn't work something is either wrong with your sdcard or the apk's your trying to use.

Hmmmm.. And you backed them up using the app you mentioned? Any chance the app is preventing the install because of the ROM change? Can't you redownload them from the market?

As a test, try this:
http://db.tt/yIWp6nkh

This is wifi tether for root users. Dl it and see if it will install from your sd, if so then something is wrong with the backups you made :)

Hi, this is my first post on this site. I just wanna say thanks to the creator for this creation! I also have a couple questions.

When I install the CTMod, it works great for about a week or two. Very fast and everything works very well. After a week or so of use however, certain things slow down and makes using the phone very painful. The Phone won't dail for 30 seconds when i hit the button (if it dials at all) and txt and many other features become very slow. I have went through the entire process a few times, and each new install works great, but eventually always slows down. Any ideas? I'd appreciate it very much.

My last question has to do with the app menu. CTMod scrolls left/right through pages of apps. I was wondering if theres any way to switch from left/right to up/down scrolling. No big deal but being able to go all the way to the end of the list with a quick flick was always kinda fun lol

I'd appreciate any help, and thanks again for the awesome rom!
