Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

Won't delete any apps or personal stuff, it's just wiping the cache apps uses and the dalvik cache... Once you wiped the two cache's, the first reboot takes longer since it will rebuilt the dalvik cache again..... No worries, just try it and see if the lag is gone.... Helps me all the time.... ;)
 
Hello all. I just recently had to go back to my prevail (my brats detroyed my transform ultra) and I have a few questions. I am currently running CTMod 2.1, baseband EJ06 (if that makes sense) and kernel 2.6.35.7. I want to make everything current, but I am a touch nervous about screwing up this phone as this was my backup and she is all I have.
The phone is set up and running A2SDGUI VO.9 and seems to run flawlessly. So I guess I formatted and partitioned my sd card at some point, will this need to be done again? What is the latest, greatest baseband currently available. Does it come with this package? I am also having issues downloading this package, is their an alternative link for downloading? I guess that's it for now. Thank You for your time.

You would need to upgrade to CT3.8 which is the newest and the kernel is included. You can keep and run the EJ06, that is what I still use. There is newer ones that you can switch to if you want. You don't have to use A2SD, the kernel does that for you. If card is partitioned then you should be set to go. You might want to back up the sd card and just redo everything from scratch though, that would be the best. If you need help with any of this just let us know what you decide to do and any one of us will help you along.

Thanks for responding. Would updating to CT3.8 automatically give me the newest baseband? I have no issues with EJ06, but my laptop took a dump (currently using android tablets) so I can't Odin back if I have issues with the newest FF19. Also, since I already have a partition would I just need to reformat in CWM after choosing data in the newest KoumaKernal 2.5? One last question, is there a mirror that you are aware of? I have tried downloading many times today with no luck. Thanks for your time.
 
Upgrading to CTMod3.85 dose NOT change your EJ06 base band..... You would have to use Odin to upgrade to the FE16 or FF19 ( latest ) base band ! After you do a "Install from zip" in CWM, boot up and select DATA, you boot immediately back into CWM and re-format your sdext...... Then boot normally ( can take a little while to boot ) and you are all set up !

There is no mirror for the phone that I'm aware of. Maybe someone else knows of one.

But it doesn't work. I try to use it and the voicemails wont send, and the voicemails I get just go the the regular voicemail.
Is there anyway to add Visual Voice mail to this Rom?

Afaik, the prevail never got the upgrade to visual voicemail. I had tried to get it to work before and couldn't.
 
I currently have Ctmod 3.80 on my phone. I put it on there the first week that it was released. The phone has been performing very slow for a while now. I am wanting to reflash it but am having problems.

I downloaded the CTmod 3.80 zip and put it on the sd card. followed the directions and the message tells me the flash has been aborted. What am I doing wrong?

You may have a corrupt file try taking that off your SD card , download it again and place the new one on your SD card.
 
Been out of the Prevail loop for a while but recently flashed the latest ctmod. After boot up the play store is there for a few seconds but soon after (30 seconds?) play store dissapears. Anyone got a clue as to what's wrong?

Sorry if it has been mentioned before, I didn't read all the posts, kinda skimmed through it and didn't find anything.
 
Howdy,

think you have to sign out of your google account, sign back in, ten reboot the phone, let it start up and do nothing with the phone for like 15-30 minutes.... then PlayStore should be back in the app drawer...... ( I think that how it works and as I remember it ) ;)
