Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

hey guys so ive been running ctmod since 2.5 came out *thanks bloodawn your the man* and i havent noticed any problems until now. when i first installed after a few times hitting the home button it completely gave up on me, now i have to hit back a ton of times to get to the home screen. i just installed spb shell 3d thinking that maybe it had something to do with zeam but still have the same problem. any ideas on whats wrong?

oh and i tried reflashing ctmod 3.1.2 bout three times to see if that does it, still the same thing

Are you running just CTmod 3.1.2?? I had that problem when i was also running KK1.4 so i reimaged 3.1.2 and then kk1.2 and home button works no problem.

can i just cwm kk1.2 or do i have to do kk1.2 and ctmod3.1.2?

I would suggest
1. Flash CTMod 3.1.2
2. boot up
3. Boot back in to cwm and partiton ur sd card or format it if it's already partitioned. i partitioned a 4 gig with 1024 and 0mb swap.
4. flash KK1.2 or 1.3, 1.3 is supposedly stable also, I couldn't find it personally so i just did 1.2.
5.Boot up and your home button should work no problem.

just reflashed CTMod 3.1.2 and just for $h1ts and giggles i messed around with opening apps and hitting home and it seems to be working now... oh well if it messes up again ill know what to do

if I Odin rooted FA19, will CTMod2.5 flash over that Ok, and newest KK? or do I need to do 3.1.2? and is the fa19 odin image the boost image or ported from other carrier? Just curious, so I don't screw up.

If you are updating from an earlier CTmod version to 3.1.2, restoring system data in titanium backup will break the home button. Earlier CTmods use Android 2.3.5, new one uses 2.3.6. Better to manually reinstall as much as you can.

Just make sure that if you decide to start with a clean slate, save your custom-made ringtones before reformatting your SD card >_<

Don't use KoumaKernel 1.4 with CTmod 3.1.2 for now. Other than that i'm not sure. The only thing that was ported from the Admire was Hroark's Admire to Prevail rom. FA19 odin is the stock boost baseband for the prevail, optionally with root and CWM

Hey everyone I seen some stuff about partitioning the sd card I was wondering what this actually is for? I have a 4 gig card in my phone but its just one partition so what would it do if i partitioned it? Whats the use of it?

Depends on what you are trying to do. Basically the Prevail comes with a lousy 170mb of internal storage space. If you partition your SD card and use Kouma Kernel 1.2 or 1.3, the extra partition acts as internal storage by writing the /data there. Or you can use apps like A2SD and do roughly the same thing. That's best I can explain. If I'm wrong or anyone has better info feel free to step in

I have used app to sd and link to sd but never partitioned my card so I dont know if its working right on that part or not all my programs work fine.

You only need to Partition your SDcard if you are running one of Kouma's custom kernels with built in apps to SD support. External programs don't need partitions.

just installed the 3.1.2 from 2.4- works good

i was hoping it would get rid of the stupid "system update" that pops up at random...it seems to still be there...or perhaps after a few reboots?

Would be nice for a script to KEEP settings, like home screen apps,positions,settings..and just format what needs to be updated.

cool mod and thanks...its just time consuming...sure i use titanium "pro" to do a batch install, of course, that installs to INTERNAL memory...which i only have like 60MB of free space...maybe its a setting i missed.

use this to stop the notification

heres a fix to stop the FA19 update notification

just flash it in cwm, all it does is swap out the build.props

FA19Fix.zip

and like I've said before, there is ways to keep your settings and shit but version 3.0 upgrades the OS and transferring things causes problems

You actually do need to partition your SD card for darktremor's app2sd or an app2sd kernel to function properly. The instructions are in the readme. Basically if you have an 8 GB SD card and you set your /sd _ext partition at 1 GB, your phone will read it as a 7GB card. It will treat the partition as part of the internal memory

Haha. Thanks for saving me on this one. Darktremors is the only one I tried using so I just assumed that the others were pretty much the same concept.

I'm gonna backup my stuff and test out KK 1.5 seeing as I have nothing else better to do at 5:30 in the am.

I flashed the FA19Fix.zip not realizing that the System Update my phone was talking about was the bug fixes update sent last night. Is there any way to get that back? Would I need to re-root and install CTMod if I updated, or would it be okay to just do?

@str8stryk3r
Sure thing! Sometimes people peeing on the electric fence for themselves can be avoided lol. Truly sucks to see people give a bad rating or not use something just because its not set up properly

I just flashed to 3.1.2 from CM7 so I could access the hidden menu and.....no hidden menu so flashing to an older version to access it I guess.

Guys,

Just a quick note: we frown upon linking site like the one just posted--you can't see it now since I've changed the link to reflect the Android Market link for that app.

The particular site in question is known for harboring pirated apps, warez, etc., and we do not wish to give any help or credence to such a place.

Please use links to well-known places like the Android Market, where there's no question of an app's legitimacy.

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.
