Root [ROM] CyanogenMod 7 Huawei M835

has no one tried the CM7.2 build 09132011 for the ascend on the m835? cuz i just tried it, and it seems like everything works fine. I tried talk, text, wifi, 3g, and my normal apps that all worked on cm6 and all of it works.

The only thing i can find thats giving me problems is the same build of gapps i used with cm6 is causing a boot loop during the cm7 startup images. It gets to the touch the droid screen, then restarts. I let it go for awhile, and it rebooted about 25 times.

Im currently trying the latest gapps build to see if anything changes.
 
i flashed correct version of gapps, and legit! works great. pm me if you need help, but its very easy. just hit up playfuldroidz wiki and get cm7 for ascend with that version of gapps
 
it works... I am just looking for an update since CM7 is nearly at its end, and for all other devices I have. tip is running great and alot of the changes made since August are great and the features added are pretty slick...

I hope he updates it one last time before retiring it...

Ok, youtr going to need to do this:
!) delete one or two apps to make space for root explorer unless you already have it
2)go to the market and download root explorer
3)open root explorer and allow superuser permissions
4)press the mount r/w button
5)scroll down until you see a folder named cust and inside it you will see all the metro apps and data
6) press and hold on app to bring up options and sroll to delete
Note:If you want you can delete the whole cust folder, the phone will still work the same, it jus wont hve any metropcs things on it, including the metropcs bootanimation.
 
Is there another app that works as good as Root Explorer? I'm kinda poor and can't pay for an app. Hence the reason I'm using the M835. :p
 
Asmodai, you should just get a data cable and install apps from your computer after you direct download them to your pc.

I actually found a problem with the cm7 ascend build, i cant get any kind of connection with bluetooth. I can get devices to pair, but not connect. As this is the primary function i need for this phone, its useless without it. Im going back to mate35..... laaammmmeee...

I actually tried cm6 for my bluetooth application and it works great, still wondering what the deal is with cm7 bluetooth, maybe ill try a reflash...
 
any deb's still pay attention to these? can u just change the name of cm7 for ascend 091311 to m835 I hate the phone thinks its an ascend
 
Does the wifi work?

ive rooted my m835 with gingerbreak, and used root explorer to delete the metropcs apps and everythings worked great for me.
 
CM6 and CM7 for the ascend on the m835 - wifi does work. Bluetooth works on CM6 w/o file transfer, and no bluetooth worked for me on CM7.

I just tried the BobZ version of CM7 and it seems everything works even bluetooth! except for mms with metro, but metroOFF might fix it.

Also i haven't experienced any random reboots yet.
 
i just want to know how do i install the cm7 to my phone after i have it rooted and have the cm7 installed on my sdcard what do i have to do to get it to boot on my m835?
 
i was wondering what do i have to do to update my m835 i have the 2.2.2 verison and i want to update it 2.3.5 but when i download the cm7 to my sd card i dont know what to do after that i have rooted my phone tho that it if i have to flash it to do it what is the website to do it for free?
 
go to 4shared on your phone search rom manager and download the first result install on phone flash huawei ascend clockmod recovery then go to flash rom from SD card find rom three options should come up select all three including back up current rom then wait for reboot (make sure phone has at least 50% charge level so it doesn't die during operation because it will take 10-15 min)
 
I have never been able to flash from rommanager, i had to get clockwork on using fastboot, then flash all my roms from the clockwork recovery. Maybe im just doing it the hard way, but i thought someone mentioned that rom manager cant flash clockwork recovery anymore.
