Root [ROM] CyanogenMod 9 for the LG Spectrum 4G LGVS920

Well, 4G is once again lost after a reboot. I restarted the radio in the phone info menu and it came back, thankfully.

So here is what I have done twice with similar results (it's a huge PTIA to do this after each reboot but...):

1. I have the "LTE" and "Airplane Mode" options on my notification drawer (enable under Settings>System>Notification drawer>Widget buttons).

2. After reboot with no data, I turn LTE off and then turn Airplane mode on. Wait long enough for radio to turn off (1 minute?).

3. Turn Airplane mode off. Wait for data to come back. It is usually 1X. This take a couple minutes. Most of the time I have to cycle Airplane mode twice.

4. Turn LTE back on. Then go into *#*#4636#*#* and my "Set preferred network type" is CDMA auto (PRL). Change that to LTE/CDMA auto (PRL).

5. 4G should pop back up after LTE/CDMA auto (PRL) is selected. You may have to wait a couple seconds.

I'm not sure if all those steps are necessary but these steps have worked for me.

I set my "subscription" to "RUIM/SIM" and so far (even on reboots) have not lost data. It was set to "NV" by default. Maybe this will help people, I don't know :dontknow:

I forgot to mention I also switched the "preferred network mode" to "LTE/CDMA".

Alrighty, do not attempt to make a backup and restore. data won't work I had to flash an older backup of icy fusion to get it back then flash cm9 and then dirty flash over to get it back on cm9

ALSO: i tried all the option to get it working as well, rebooted radio on and off lte cdma prl lte off then on data off then on. Everything listed and everything I could think of. Dirty flashing back over after re flashing is what got it back for me

That could be the problem, that should not be present on our devices [LTE/CDMA auto (PRL)], LTE Only, LTE doesn't do auto (PRL) on VZW.

First time doing a ROM, my experienced co worker helped me out. And athome a friend over the internet helped me tweak it. now back at work and there's no internet connectivity unless i'm under wifi....anyone else experience this?!?1

Upgrade to cm10. Cm9 is old and no longer being supported.

is the LG Spectrum really supported by cyanogenmod? on website my device isn't listed...could that be why not working properly? Sorry, i'm a noob

It's not supported by the actual cm devs, but we do have stable versions of both cm9 and cm10. I ran cm9 until cm10 dropped and never had issues with data. It could be a number of things as to the reason your data isn't working, but it's not Rom related.

We are having some minor reboot issues with cm10 but it's not that big of a deal unless you are a hardcore gamer. Gaming seems to make this phone reboot often on cm10.

upgrade to cm10, everything works on it. One thing you want ot make sure you do before flashing cm10 is make sure your gps is turned on and get a lock. Leave it on and then go into recovery and flash cm10.

If you are not able to get gps in cm9 (since you seem to be having issues with it) flash back to this rom http://androidforums.com/spectrum-all-things-root/641156-rom-stock-rooted-deodexed-zv7.html and then get a lock with gps and then flash cm10. You need to do this because if you don't there is a chance that gps will not work on cm10.

here's what you need to do written out in steps so it will be easier for you follow.

[note] while on cm9 go to settings/under wireless and networks go to more/mobile networks/cdma subscription/ and make sure RUIM/SIM is selected and not NV. If NV is selected it make cause you to roam when you flash back to the SOTARD.zip

1. turn gps on, and get a lock. (if you are unable to use gps in cm9 then flash the rom I mentioned and linked to before and you will be able to use gps in that)

2. boot into recovery and wipe cache, wipe delvik cache, and wipe data/factory reset (delvik cache is located under advanced in CWM

3. now choose "install zip from sd card" then "choose zip from sd card" then navigate to the zip you want to flash.

thats it. reboot
