dunno, that was a temp fix used with the zte sequent.
I had tried out MX player and it didn't work for me but maybe I missed a setting. I'll give it another crack in a few.

so i ran CM for a couple of weeks, but then i went back to Katana because i need the camera and faster data, but now all i get is EV, i restored every back up, did a firmware update and yet nothing, still EV, could it be my LTE radio is fried? is there a hidden menu to select network that i've been missing?

There's some instructions somewhere in this thread (hard to find). You have to go back to CM and switch data settings back to stock then you can install any rom you want.
I'm sure someone will post more detailed instructions to help you....
If you switched to that evdo ish you can go back to cm and switch back to fur gee....the just restore a back up....hope that works

MMS works for me. I just need the hotspot but I think that's just because of no 4G. Maybe not.
I use my hotspot like crazy so that's my only downfall.

You can use foxfi for hotspot. I use it all the time on stock. Haven't even rooted

On stock? This is CM10 were talking about. Foxfi was slow for me. I use WiFi Hotspot and USB Tether Pro by SVTP which works around the built in hotspot. I get 5megabits down on my laptop when using it that way.

Funny, I was reading through the earlier pages and I read that people were having a problem with the GPS (for the 0517/0518 build). I never had any issues. In fact, I was playing Ingress (gps based game) using 1x/evo and it was off by only a little bit, i wasn't even using the local service option. Anyways, still stalking the OP and Wiki, I'm starting to feel like it's an unhealthy obsession >.>
