Yeah, the Amazon app. I installed it from a tibu backup so I didn't notice until trying to update it

I'm able to download the Amazon app fine using the TBO Gapps.

One thing I noticed was that DU know longer tells you what dpi you are on, it just offers to change it. So, to make sure I was right, I first explicitly set my N5 to 420 and rebooted. Play Store was fine and I downloaded the Amazon app.

From this post, it looks like the TBO play store is multi DPI and not inverted (I don't want it blacked out). I suppose I could install that, but it would be a pain to update it manually. Does it lose multi-DPI-ability after updates from google?

I've never had it updated from Google, maybe because the TBO Gapps get updated pretty often. The store can't be clacked out anymore, which is to bad because I really loved the Blacked Out Play Store.

Alright, I may go with that. I actually prefer the light theme so that works out. It's not crucial to keep the play store updated either, it would have just been a problem if it auto-updated to an unpatched version.

But I'll make a feature request for the play store fix xposed module to be incorporated in the rom if possible!

Do you mean 480? 420 is what DU for Hammerhead runs on. Native DPI for Nexus 5 is 480.

In any event, if you restore to the stock DPI - you'll be able to update Amazon fine.

It won't happen. We hate xposed.

This may be an Android thing that DU can't fix. Why do my notification sounds and ringtones play through my speaker and not my headphones? I noticed it when not listening to music but I am pretty sure my ringtone goes through the speakers even when listening to music.

Did you try a different headphone? Also by any chance do you have any apps installed like "pressy" or "klick"?

This doesn't happen to me using Power AMP on DU. Both phone and notifications come through my headphones, always have.

********** fixes the issue for me. **********

What the hell. Sound About but with the space turns into **********. The name of the app is "**********". Mother f-er. The name of the app is "Sound About" but without the space. Why can't you post it with the space? I swear I'm not drunk.

No, I meant 420. I knew DU used 420, but it doesn't actually say that anywhere in the Settings module that I could find so I explicitly set it so that I could be sure that's what I was using with the Amazon app from the Play Store. As I said, I have no problems with Play Store on DU

Isnt dpi settings in build.prop tweaks?

Not any more. There is now a separate LCD Density module in Dirty Tweaks that gives you a UI for changing the dpi. However, if you are just using the DU default, it doesn't show you what that number is. After you make a modification (including picking the same as default) it will show you what you have selected.

I knew I had 420 dpi, but I just wanted to confirm that for the test I was doing OhSeven.

I don't know what goes on behind the scenes. Can you do to the rom whatever the xposed module does? Or are there aspects of the xposed framework necessary for that function?

The function isn't necessary. The fix is to change the DPI back to the stock DPI. There's zero need to use xposed.

whats the best way to go about updating the ROM? do i just do a fresh install? sorry for the noob question. very new to this.

also i was having a problem setting my lock screen wallpaper. every time i set it, it automatically resizes it and it doesn't fit right. is there a way around this?

A clean install is usually recommended and always the best route to go... Since that way there are no left over or lingering system mods/changes that will/can cause conflicts with the new build. Especially if you are coming from a commpletly different ROM than DU, then you should definitely do a clean install..
If your just updating DU from a previous version to an updated DU official or test build ROM... Then a dirty flash should be just fine and will more than likely not cause any issues or conflicts. I typically just dirty flash the updated newest DU versions, whether it be an official or test build and have not experienced any issues at all. I'm pretty sure I've dirty flashed at least the last 10 DU builds without any issues.

If something does happen and you start to experience weird behavior and issues after a dirty flash... You can just reboot to recovery and do a clean install and reflash the DU ROM/Gapps package and everything will then be fine.

It'll just be to update DU as i already have it. How does one do a dirty flash? im just trying to avoid having to backup and reload everything.

When you boot to recovery... Either in TWRP or CWM (depending on which custom recovery you are using, (the actually commands will very slightly) I use TWRP personally.
What custom recovery are you using?
Basically though you Just click on "Install" and then navigate to where you have the latest DU build version saved, usually it's in the "/sdcard/download/" folder (unless your using a USB OTG etc..) Click on the DU file and confirm installation. There is no need to wipe anything additional on a dirty flash with DU.
DU runs a script that by default it will "Extract/Format the System Partition, (wipe the system) and typically this is enought for updating a ROM.

A clean install would involve, booting to your custom recovery and selecting "Wipe" and then performing an "Factory Data Reset". This is usually sufficient for a clean install.
You can also go "Advanced" and "Wipe" /System/Data/Dalvik Cache/Cache.
Just remember not to "Wipe" your Internal/External SD card, when in "Advanced" this will wipe you SD card/s... Imcuding saved Nandroid backups, ROMs, Downloads, document's, pics, video's and etc... You will lose it all! Thwre will be No "System installed on the device and no ROM/nandroid saved on the SD cards to restore the device.

Actually, per the instructions on the DU G+, a true clean flash involves wiping internal data and using OTG (or ADB, I guess) to move the ROM and Gapps onto the blank phone.

While it may say that on the G+ site, that's not what i think most people mean when they say they are doing a clean install and, frankly I don't think you gain anything from all that extra work. JMHO. I'll stick with the factory reset definition of a clean install. ;)

thanks for the help and input! gonna try a dirty install. went ahead and ran titanium backup just to be safe so here it goes!

Also anyone have any input on the lock screen wallpaper problem??
