The modular micro I tried was just downloaded the day I flashed but the stock one was an older zip. When I try again I'll download a new stock package.

I had one google app (can't remember which one) waking my phone a ton even after trying everything to make it stop so I uninstalled it via titanium backup (I think that's when I bought the Pro key). While I was at it I got rid of a few others.

Do you turn off all the syncing under accounts? You usually can get Google
apps to stop doing stuff that way. You can also turn off some of the more intrusive search functions there.

You can install whatever the stock package comes with as user apps. You can even install Google play services as user app as well (you must have an apk file of it before you uninstall the current system app).

Titanium backup should be your best friend. You can assign it to do backup schedules through the week and sync all those backups to a cloud service (drive, drop box..). Make sure you've backed all the user apps in batch mode and then hand select your system apps (the ones highlighted green or yellow basically).

Greenify is also a nice app to consider in seeing which app to "hibernate" (doesn't freeze the app, just completely cuts off all the services using the app). You can hibernate system apps as well but that is a paid feature.

I did try that. I usually keep most syncing off all the time.

This is what I personally use: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23622183712458436

That's the one I downloaded. Must have just been a series of unfortunate events the night I tried to flash. I haven't tried again so far.

Hello there,
I have the latest du version and I can't find the privacy guard settings anymore. Is it normal? This feature is still in the front page list though

It could be in an app called "settings." You could read each line of text in there... maybe there is a possibility (if you reach that far down the app) that you'll find what your looking for. Don't give up on literacy please.

I was just going to flash the 8/26 test build and thought... Well, I should check and see if there is a newer build version up and sure enough, New 8/30 Test Build is up on DU Google+!!
Downloading now and Can't wait to see what goodies we got!

I'm getting error 491 when I try to download or update from play store. Looks like others are getting it from posts on the G+ site. Josh (NYCHitman1) is already on it. I don't think it is a dirty install issue, but if Josh can't find it, I'll try that. Nandroiding back to the previous test build for now.

I've cooked up a new build. Testing now. Assuming everything is good, I'll post it up.

Also just flashed it. Do not have any issues that Hook had:)

It seems buttery smooth in all aspects. Will post if any issues are found.

Thanks VERY much NYCHitman1! Awesome rom indeed.

I blame PIE. :p ;)

Lol... That's a good one!! ;)

Just installed the new 8/31 test build and everything is working great and DU is running buttery smooth as always! Digging the new kernel so far too... Seems to be working very well and is a great match/combo for DU! Nice job there Josh!
Also Thank you Josh for getting on it and rectifying the issue so quickly and taking care of us... Much appreciated  you are the man!!

Luckily, I had a fairly good idea as to what caused it. I just had to make sure I was right, which in this case - I was.

Any solution to DPI compatibility issues with apps in the play store? I couldn't find an updated multi DPI play store apk. I was using an xposed module fix before a clean flash. Is it possible to incorporate that fix into the rom?

As far as I know, both the official TBO Gapps and the linked PA gapps have multi-dpi play store versions. I've used both and they work fine.

Maybe xposed could help with that. "App settings" module gives you the ability to set custom DPIs per app. Another module (goes along the lines of playstore DPI fix or something) for exactly that predicament your in was made a while ago but I don't know if it still works. Or you could just flip it back to 480 in build prop.

Hmm..I use the full stock PA gapps, same as what's linked here. The description says they are "untouched" so that leads me to think they aren't patched.

I was trying to avoid xposed lest one of DU devs find out ;-) That module is what I had before and I had to install it again because I don't want to go back to stock DPI. If there's another solution though, I could uninstall xposed

Again, I have no problems with the play store with either set of Gapps. Are you having a specific problem with a particular app?
