Root [ROM] GB-CMod7-Beta

I've been out of it for the past month. I'm getting caught up now... thanks to new position at work and overnight shift you'd think i'd have more time but not so much....

I have flashed the beta and I remember having this issue before and still do. I wipe everything, flash the rom, reboot, stop the animation, but still get a blank screen after my phone goes into sleep mode. I've tried a few different ways to get it back and never have complete success. the one that works the most is wait for it to go into sleep mode, hit the far left button on the bottom, swipe the center of my phone to unlock (you feel the vibration that it unlocks) and wait for it to sleep again, then attempt to bring it out of sleep mode and I get sometimes the screen back. and I'm not sure but I think if I wiggle my charger around it too can also make the screen come back if I try to wake it up.

I might be going in all the wrong places here. any ideas? I had to go back to my restore until I can get that blank screen issue figured out. I scoured through this thread and didn't find anything that fixed it for good.

Do you have a live wallpaper running? If not try one and see if it helps.
 
somedood81 - sadly that doesn't change anything... animation off - placed live wallpaper on - rebooted - screen wont display after sleep mode

works other than I can't see what i'm pressing... backlight is on.

any other suggestions?

Update: after it goes into sleep mode after sliding without display to unlock it will display.

unlocked it with display viewable and let go back into sleep mode. hit the power button to bring it back but it leaves the screen blank again and works again.

SOLUTION:::: CyanogenMod settings - Display - Screen-off animation needs to unchecked.

OK, now atleast I can try this one out :D

I agree with the screen issue and i too have not come up with a alternitive method i beleive untill bugs are fixed and its closer to being out of the beta stage it will work just be patient it will happen.
 
I'm a complete dumbass when it comes to stuff like this so please be gentle

My phone has just been rooted by gingerlike and just installed custom recovery by joneidy.

1. How do I install this step-by-step and what happens if I do installed it
2. I've read that we can't overclock, is that true?
3. Comparison between CM7, Sense and default rom (speed, battery wise, graphics whatever u guys can say
4. Something good about CM7 that makes you smile everytime you touch your phone.

Now that I got past that animation off feature i'm digging this rom quite a bit. no complaints.

We can overclock now, look for the custom kernel in the forum.
 
Can somebody update me on this rom's bugs. Well just the 2 I was having: bluetooth not working and the lag from portrait to landscape

did you disable the on and off animations in cyanogenmod setting your suppose to do this right after you flash the rom and the guy who made this rom possible works on it with his spare time so this is better then nothing :D

Blaxican is right. when you go to settings cyanogen has it's own display settings and it's the animation off that causes your phone to stay blank. if you can't wait to pull the battery then you'll have to unlock the phone blindfolded and wait for the phone to sleep again and then hit the power button. your screen will pop up but don't let it go into sleepmode again or you'll be back to square one.
 
I've noticed the screen lag gets worse the longer the phone goes with no reboot. also for some reason the longer the previous uptime the longer it hangs on second lg screen while booting. memory leak?
 
blaxican25> Okay I was turning animations off in the display settings T___T and not in cyanogenmod. So its all cool now thanks blaxican25!

Reppard> I really appreciate having gingerbread. So I could wait a couple weeks for a fix. I would kinda like to have my pretty blue led's back if its not to much trouble, just set them to on with display or something? I would guess thats the easiest way? But its your call. I still have black screen issues here and there but other than that its bug less. thanks for your hard work :D
