Root [ROM] GingerSteem Extreme for LG Esteem MS910

wat should i wipe when flashing this rom

Wipe data/factory reset(i know that)
cache partition
dalvik cache

format boot
format data
format cache
(going off what i would usually would when flashing a rom on my Ascend let me know if should add something or delete something thank you)

is this what i need to do to flash the rom correctly?? thanks in advance:D:)

or you could just list it step by step i want to be sure not to screw up the phone

You dont need to format anything. This is taken from the OP...

How do I install this?

1.) Download the .zip & copy to phone or sdcard (make sure 4g is enabled if dl'd from phone).
2.) Zip can be installed from either internal or external sd in CWM
3.) MAKE A BACKUP
4.) WIPE DATA!!! (You do not need to wipe if already on GingerSteem!)
5.) Go to install zip from sdcard
6.) Select GingerSteem_Extreme_signed.zip
7.) Do not wipe data after flashing!!!
8.) Reboot!
9.) To Block Carrier Logging Requires Reboot After Initial Boot

Boot doesn't show in cwr on the Esteem. But I personally, just because of ocd reasons , wipe data, cache, dalvik, then format system, data, cache.

And just FYI EMMC in the format section is your internal sd card/ partition.

Just tried to flash this ROM - went through each step as specified. Seems to have installed correctly, though it keeps rebooting into CWM. Am I missing something? Any input appreciated - thanks!

Thanks Pg. I'm pretty new to this been doing research for a month. Followed the steps and everything worked perfectly. Running this rom and overclocked at 1.8 smoothly.
Transformed my esteemed into an absolute monster. Great job guys. Soon as i learn how to donate i will be doing so!

All of this scores are nice... Does anyone want to offer some pointers on how to get the device in best condition?

I originally started with the 2-GHz kernel and eventually dropped to the 1.8GHz kernel. Granted I used LG-Esteem Optimizer, etc. The only thing all of these things did was make my phone, very unstable. I recently reloaded and kept everything somewhat stock. But it would be nice to understand some of the tricks to use to get the best performance using either setCPU or Anatutu CPU Master. Also any other pointers like which kernel, etc.

See that is the important thing, and each phone is different. Overclocking is great if your phone can handle it. What you want to do though is play with different speeds, try different governors, use different I/o schedulers, etc. You have to find that balance for your phone. What gives the best performance while maintaing stability and battery life. Benchmarks are great for bragging rights but doesn't always show the true performance of the phone. You can have high scores and still have a phone that stutters and stalls.
