Root [ROM] GingerSteem Extreme for LG Esteem MS910

If you have Gingersteem you dont need to Wipe Data to install this ROM so you will not lose any app already installed.

I just did that downloading Gingersteem and saved my apps. Of course it was after the fact of redoing it a second time. The first time I wiped them out. Ha. You guys rock in a no-homo way. Keep rolling and keep us thinking.
Seriously, you guys make bricking smart phones fun. :)

LOL...its fun only if we can bring the phone back to life;)

Hey would you know with this Rom why dont
alot of apps work from the market
You need to set the screen density back to 240. First go to setting the applications then manage apps. Scroll down to the market and press it. Then clear out the cache and then the data. Go back to your home screen. Now open up room toolbox from your menu and press cpu tweaks. Then slide the denisty one to the right until it reaches 240. Then save it and reboot. This should fix your problem.

i got to 2.0ghz without reboot. what i did was slowly go up on the max ghz and also increase the min ghz also and my best benchmark on quadrant benchmark is 3287 :)

i am also having problems with downloading apps it says like this app is not supported on your device. please help asap its annoying thanks :)

It would be located under CPU Sliders. I am on the pro version so it's different. You can also modify the build.prop file yourself. Use your folder navigator, I use root explorer and navigate to system and change the mounto to r\w. Now press down on the build.prop and when the menu pops up scroll down to open in text editor. Now scroll all the way to the top and then scroll down slowly. You are looking for the ro.sf.lcd_density= and whatever value you have there you need to change to 240. Once you change it press the menu button on your phone and press save and exit. Now reboot your phone and you should be good to go. Make sure to clear the cache and data for the market app before doing this step.

No No No, all you need to do is go into ROM Toobox, scroll over to Performance, select "build.prop Tweaks" and set your LCD Density to EXACTLY(And NOTHING different) 240. Then go into Settings -> Applications, select "Market" and Clear Data and Cache. Reboot and Enjoy!

i flashed this rom but it deleted my facebook & when i try to install it from market it says my device is not compatible.. what now?

Download and use ROM Manager to flash it. Its listed as LGE Esteem

Wait let me get this straight here.

1. Download ROM Manager FROM the Android Market?
2. Install CWR FROM the ROM Manager App?
3. Then follow the instructions on how to flash GingerEsteem Extreme from the SD card WITH ROM Manager aswell?

Is that correct or did i miss something???

You are correct,
i will go more into detail than he PG can(We at AF try to keep the DEVs from posting too much LoL so they can hook us up with dee special stuffs by giving them as much free time as we can HaHa).

1. Download "ROM Manager" from Android Market.

2. Once opened and at the main menu select "Flash Clockwork Mod Recovery"

3. It'll ask you to confirm your device, scroll down and select "LGE Esteem"

4. Confirm and it'll begin showing the download bar at the top of the app.

5. Once done with that, you can either get ROM Manager Pro(Paid License)
from the Android Market and download the ROM straight from ROM Manager
OR you can go ahead and download the ROM straight from this site and
select "Install ROM From SD Card" from inside ROM Manager.

P.S.: Downloading ROM from computer and putting it onto your SD Card is free versus paying for ROM Manager Pro BUT I DO support RMP because it makes it an easier process for us in the future for downloading and installing ROMs along with supporting ROM Manager for making it an EASY install of CWM after root.

- Yup, I'm rooted :)

And GSE is under the name LGE Esteem correct? (Awesome, i'm about to do this!)

No, where you are clicking LGE Esteem, that is only going to install Clockwork Mod and not GSE. In order to be able to install custom ROMs you must have CWM installed first and that is what you are installing(CWM) by selecting LGE Esteem. If you would like to install GSE after that, you must...

Follow Step 5 from my post 2 spots above.
