Root [ROM] GingerSteem Extreme for LG Esteem MS910

the Free version will work too on week days, just need pro on the weekends or for OTA updates, or like me n others wish to support koush. ;)

Oh, wow! I didn't know that! It wasn't like that(At Least I Don't Believe) back in the day when I had the OG Incredible! Learning something new about something I've been using for a couple years LoL and either way, I fully believe that this DEV SHOULD be supported. Been an amazing app for MANY MANY devices and for a LONG time for me.

:(
I downloaded CWR from ROM Manager. Choose LGE Esteem. Made a backup. I downloaded GingerEsteem Extreme from the ROM Manager app. When it got to 100% a menu option popped up and was asking to check the following: "Backup Recovery, Wipe Data, Wipe Dalvik" (to the best of my memory) I choose "Wipe data and Wipe Dalvik". It then proceeded to install the ROM. When it finished installing, there was a small menu (in blue) the first line said something like "Reboot system now" And i had to use the volume buttons to move up or down, and the power button to select. I Choose "Reboot system now" and the phone rebooted. And to my great disappointment, nothing changed, the phone just factory reset. :( What did I do wrong and how can I re-do this the right way???

Not familiar with using ROM Manager so lets try this:

Are you able to boot into recovery:confused:
This app is easier instead of using rockers:
Quick Boot(https://market.android.com/details?id=com.siriusapplications.quickboot&hl=en)

Yeah i have "Quick Boot" stored in my backup, i can just install it, and boot into recovery, but then what?

When I flash a new ROM:

Boot into recovery and backup before anything.

Download ROM you want (http://unleashedprepaids.com/media/phones/esteem/GSE-1.5-signed.zip) This is the one you are trying to flash.

Boot into recovery
WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET
Go to install zip from sdcard > Choose zip from sdcard
Select GSE-1.5-signed.zip
Reboot!

Should be good to go:)

I'll try that (again). but probably to no avail (again) ugh. why me! Why do i have to be the out-of-luck charm. I'll post the details afterwards >.<

Edit: I tried the recovery, but it keeps failing. I have to fix my vold.fstab file, so it doesn't have trouble finding the recovery file.

did you give RM su permissions?

Yup :(...
Can anyone copy their original "vold.fstab" file, and paste it somewhere i can download it? I need to replace the one i have, because the one i have makes the phone read the Internal memory as the External, and reverse.

After i fix this issue, im sure i won't have problems with flashing this ROM the right way.

does anyone know how to get to 2.2ghz without a reboot like maybe getting an extended battery?

need help with bluetooth force close. tried reflashing rom, with wipe done, nothing still doesn't work. flashed stock rom and it works flash back to this rom and it doesnt work.

the problem is when i try to pair with my tablet it force close.

Thanks.

Okay this is annoying the crap out of me. I always delete all the stock ringtones and notifications out of the system/media/ringtone folder. I delete all ringtones and one of my own in there and deleted all but on notification and rebooted. If I go to settings/sounds/ringtones there's still like 30 listed.... where the hell are they???

i think this rom has battery issues, when i reboot my phone for w/e reason before i would reboot it'd be @ 20% , then when it turns on again its @ 11%. anybody else having this issue?

Don't think it's specific to the ROM as have experience the same thing on stock ROM:confused:
