Root [ROM] GingerSteem Extreme II for the LG Esteem MS910

I am sitting here thinking about doing the upgrade. I am curious about the difference between ZVB and ZVC. Is there any really benefit to changing over, or is this another issue of being on cutting edge just because we can?

haven't tried that before... maybe..? lol

Yeeeaaaahhhh....don't do that lol...for some reason it boot looped at the new animation which is weird because on every other device I've had i could do that with no problems...weird.

i have loaded many different versions of boot animation using es file explorer. i have never had any problems, so maybe you got a bad boot amination, or maybe GSE II is doing something different. i am on zvb GSE

Hmmm...yeah i thought that might be the case too. I'll try it again with a different animation and see what happens.

yeah i might need alittle help with this...or maybe in plain English. I found the one i want on the XDA forums ( Android peeing on Apple bootanimation.zip - xda-developers ) but im unfamiliar with how to do "install" it. I like figuring things out on my own but when theres a danger of really messing something up i ask, so think you could explain a little more. Thanks

k bro if u have root explore copy that bootanimation u want to system /media and paste it theres already a bootanimation in that folder just move it to ur sd when done moving rename the one u want to bootanimation.zip then just reboot ur phone u should b good

Ok...here is a step by step guide.

1) you are gonna want to download an app that can scale the size of the animation...i use absolute system i'm sure you can google it and find one online if you don't want to buy it. Scale it to the size that looks best to you.

2) download an app called root explorer i'm sure you can find it online too.

3) place your resized animation on your sd card where you can easily find it.

4) open root explorer and find it on your sd card and copy it.

5) press the menu button and choose bookmarks then root folder

6) open the system folder then the media folder and you will see bootanimation.zip

7) now look at the top of the screen and make sure that it says mount R/O which means that you have read/write access.

8) then press paste (finally lol) and it will ask you if you want to overwrite the original file. Press yes

9) reboot and watch an Android pissing on an apple lol
