Root [ROM] GingerSteem Extreme II for the LG Esteem MS910

Yes, for some reason I have seen that quite a few theme and ROM links here are mixed. The ROMs are sometimes linked to smaller downloads than the themes are linked to... i.e.: LDK-ICK ROM link is actually bringing you to the theme download and the Theme link is actually bringing you to the ROM download LoL. Happened to me, the person above, AND Chess(The Gentlemen I helped Get Away From "Download Is In Progress" Screen)
 
I screwed up something. Some one helped me change on boot animation a week or so ago and well this morning i found something different and instead of taking the 5 mins and making sure i knew what i was doing i just said "I got this" now the new animation runs for a little bit then just stops randomly then just a black screen is there with the back light on and the soft keys lit. So.....sorry guys but once again...could someone help me with this?

Did you make a backup before you installed the boot animation?

? What? yeah i made i back up of my my original "Metro PCS" boot but how can that help me? I cant get the phone to go anywhere after it boots. If i could I would have just went right back to what i had before......

Yeah....I got a boot loop.... now its running in circles....Hoping i dont have to re-flash the whole ROM but if thats what i gotta do....Just looking for a weee bit of help please

So you can't go to cwm manually?

I already have boot animations on my SD and....I tried to flash one and it aborted the installation.....or do i have to use stock to get it to work? or do i flash it another way?

I have never "flash" boot animations..you just replace it in the system media folder when you want to change it. Flash the exitrecovery.zip ...just want to know that you can boot totally back up.
Then you can go back to messing(I mean playing with your phone) LOL:D

Maybe its not me understanding or something else because you said this ^ but before you said this "Pull your SD put into your computer..download the file above to SD..reinsert sd to phone..and flash that zip in recovery" so maybe a step by step thing would help cause im trying to flash the boot in CWM and it says "finding update package...opening update package...installing update... installation aborted."

First you said stuck at black screen then stuck in bootloop.
Game plan:
Said you can get into recovery so try to restore a backup that you have.
If not try to flash the original ROM on your sd.
If neither of these get your phone to load up then pull batt..pull sd...as to CPU install exitrecovery.zip to as via CPU ..sd back to phone..boot to recovery..flash exitrecovery.zip.
Let me know how it goes. The goal is to get your phone to load up all the way..can worry bout the boot animation after that;)

Damn i was dreading reflashing the ROM....its gunna take the rest of the day to get thing even half the way they were but whatever atleast ill have a phone still. ok man ill get back to you
 
well gbiggie I can tell you that whatever that "exitrecovery.zip" was supposed to do didnt do anything i could see. It still booted passed the LG logo then did the other LG animation logo then got to my custom boot animation and got hung up there.....so just one more time....should i do a complete wipe as in wipe the phone as i would if i was flashing the ROM again? or just flash from what i got now?

Yeah..wipe/data factory reset..wipe cache..advanced wipe dalvik..reinstall ROM .
As we so many times on here brother..backup. Just after you reflash the ROM ..boot back into recovery..and backup. That way you always have a fresh start ya know:D:thumbup:

One LAST thing i wiped the whole thing rebooted the ROM. I remember there was a problem with the trying to DL things from the market but having the phone restart...I forgot how to fix that


Edit: Never mind man, I got it. Thanks for helping out....now to spend then next 3-4 hours getting everything from my dropbox back onto my phone and loaded up and looking the way it was. Thanks again man
