Root [ROM] ICS Elite Aeneas Build

No seriously. If you would have read the thread you would have noticed I don't own the device, working on something that I can't even use to test its functionality at all. Its like walking through a familiar place that you recall vaguely but doing it in the dark. If you want screens I can't help you there. Others were generous enough to post theirs after trying it out so others could see progress. I can't offer you any more than that. Those screens are out dated but still appreciated. If you want to contribute, you are more than welcome to download, try it out and post some screens so everyone can see. If not,its your choice. But I've done all I can on my end except one or two small things to fix like boot sound edit or removal and deletion of that garbage quick memo. So screens won't be coming from me any time soon.

I'm all new to this but finally managed to root my phone with the APK method (Thanks to everyone that contributed to that!!!). But is this an actual ICS Rom or just a themed version of 2.3.7? Thanks In advanced.

hey the chinchilla works just fine lol. and yeah the preloaded wallpaper is in framework-res.apk in case anyone wants to pull it.

I love this rom and it's working wonderfully. Is there any way that I can choose (or edit) the font? I thought I'd give it a chance but I have yet to warm up to it. Thanks

Curtis, do you mind if I snag your framework-res and SystemUI and modify it for myself? I do not plan on releasing/sharing it since we probably have enough "custom" ROMs based on Leslie's ROMs now. I doubt you mind, but it's always nice to ask. Thanks in advance. It looks good.

Pretty sure Mediafire should be the main place for uploading stuff like Roms and whatnot. Sendspace literally had taken 30 minutes to even get to that 22% and now from Mediafire it took like 8 minutes to download the whole thing. :] Why do we use Sendspace more?

The only thing i like more about Sendspace is that they do not require registering before allowing uploads. In the past, Mediafire was the same way, i'm not sure when/why that changed. It was probably a result of the crackdown on file-sharing sites.

Yea that whole SOPA thing is screwed up. Idk I see it being easier to do.a 5 minute sign up, for other ppl having an easier download. Lol

Actually, I believe even this uses mine as a base as well.

It doesn't look like it, but that's the whole trick to it. People underestimate what can be done to a stock rom these days.

Idk if it's a boot loop per say, but I don't exactly know what I can install with this. I ised the New_Rom_Wipe.zip and then installed the ICS rom from here. Then I installed Giantpunes september 28th kernel, a Beats/Xloud thing that worked on the Cyanbread rom I was on before, its a modded one to work with the right partitions or something, and then I restored a nandroid advanced restore Data and then I rebooted and it boots up, shows the launcher for a moment, then does the flickering screen and reboots, to the ICS boot animation NOT to the LG logo, and it repeats over and over. I'm gonna try just installing the ICS zip tho and see what happens and do one at a time to discover the issue. Does this rom use giant punes kernel? Is it safe for me to do an advanced restore of my data from a nandroid?

EDIT: Okay, so I tried fully wiping data, system, and cache, then just installing the ICS Zip. That works, but my big thing is I want all my data from my Nandroid installed with this. Any way I can do that? No matter what I format, or restore first, I can't get this rom to work with my data from the nandroid backup from Cyanbread. Is it maybe because I'm restoring a backup from another custom rom? I really need help with this. Just about every option I have tried has boot looped me, I can only get it to work from a fully completely wiped phone, and I want all my stuff. I'd use Titanium Backup but it takes too long, and I don't see it as reliable as a nandroid. I've been using advanced restore btw to only restore the data. Just every time after I do that, it boots for a few moments, then after it scans the memory, it reboots to the boot animation then does it over and over again.

Anyone can use anything they want from this. I have no requirements. landon, feel free to make this into a smaller flashable theme package if you want. i will be updating this just to get rid of the annoying boot poweron.mp3 and trim down size some. not sure if i can get it up today though. ill hit up mediafire instead of sendspace when i update it. feel free to leave up that mediafire link. i figured sendspace would start to tank out with enough people grabbing the file. and yeah i used leslies aeneas files to theme this. other than that, bloat removal, custom launcher and hashtags build.prop..there isnt anything different.

you can edit and replace your fonts on uot kitchen. just use your framework-res/systemui.apk after picking a font you like on the kitchen, upload those two files to the kitchen and flash the zip you get from the kitchen.

you're welcome Landon. good to see all the smart young people on here. I'm an old timer around these parts lol. best to leave this stuff to the young guns with more time and motivation than I have. a smaller theme package makes a good alternative to a 100+ meg full install.

It appears as though a hideous horrible monster was eating jmfolcik's curtains when he took those pictures and he hasn't posted since. I hope he is ok.

Oh and nice ROM Curtis :D
