My reason is that there's only one way to sync a Hotmail account to these phones that allows full IMAP-like abilities and that's using the Exchange account. This has been this way since the early GB days.

And SportbikeMatt's reason I'm guessing is that the company he works for uses a Microsoft Exchange Server that he'd like to connect to and they do not always support POP3 and IMAP in the same fashion that a normal e-mail server does. Exchange is a weird animal and that's why you see it has it's own account type option on the Add New Account screen on our phones.
 
Love the new ROM, but..... now even at max call volume I can barely hear the the other caller. Wasn't an issue until I flashed ICY Fusion. Deleted a number of the Dolby and Acid stuff, I don't use my phone for an mp3 player. Doubt that could be the reason?
 
I'm still probably going to keep the acid audio in but I'm going to add a mod or tweak that should improve the call quality greatly in v4.0

Corporate (Exchange) email offers more features than a simple POP3 or IMAP connection. Calender sync being one of the big ones. Plus my company doesn't offer POP3 or IMAP connections in order to minimize surface exposure of the email servers.
 
Gosh I can't seem to find a working exchange.apk I've tried just about every one does any of you have stock lg's exchange.apk maybe I'll get lucky with someone else's.....
 
i think this rom rocks. no issues with gps . sound is awesome even with my cheapie headphones . kicks a@@ with my beats headphones . in call audio is still kinda low for my over 40 ears but, loud on speaker , i got no idea what problems with root everyone else is having ,thankfully none here since 2,5 . the crt file thing i got no idea what it is or does but haven't flashed it , also haven't done a complete wipe since prior to flashing this rom from well cant remember what it was (oh yea it was nitro rom , pretty good but i think still beta or alpha) only qualm is battery blows but dont think its rom related just the way lg brings us happiness
 
The CRT off animation is a cool looking animation once you turn your screen off by pressing the power button, i recommend it and it doesn't hurt anything, and it looks cool....
 
by the way thanks for your hard work on these roms , its nice to finally have a lil fun with this phone . one thing i miss from my s3 was that u could text do other stuff an still watch a video just in a smaller screen ,it was really cool
 
From day one, I am using your ROM and its GREAT.

Believe me..

Can't wait for the 4.0 version.

This afternoon I tried to send text messages and later found that they never made out of my phone.

I was watching Netflix while sending these texts. Tried to call after the movie and then I realized that it did not placed a call and hanged. Reboot fixed the issue. But my family got so worried since it took long time in my commuter bus. :)
 
LOVE the ROM other than the call volume issue. Before my phone wouldn't last 6 hours after a half dozen texts and 2 calls with everything turned off. Wouldn't last overnight on a fresh charge. Last night sat the phone on the shelf with 93% bat, and woke up to 83% left, have texted, phone calls and played with it a tad, now at 72%. Vast improvement!
 
i really wish AROMA installer worked with the spectrum, it would be so much more convenient for you guys and me:p
 
Progress on V4.0 is going good I kept the s3 boot animation cause any other seems to boot loop the phone also added some new apps done lots of mods to framework res like CM animations some colors changed different icons changed and other features also updated all of the apps and added some inverted aosp apps also some other cool features like the newest acid audio engine v5.0 with modded walkman and I might release it on Friday depends what is working tomorrow, so have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!
