Root [ROM][July14] Icy Fusion V5.0 | Smooth | Tweaked | Themed | Battery

I did an anTuTu benchmark last night and got a 6858 which is impressive on a non overclocked kernel. Overall I have been happy with Azoller's ROMs and look forward to this major update whenever it comes out.

I have 3 files in that folder. What is dropbox? I don't seem to have that app.

Dropbox is an online storage service. You have to sign up for an account and then you can store files in the cloud. You can also use it to sync files between your computer and your phone.

@Azoller: You may want to consider this for a replacement widget-picker:

MTMichaelson used it in all his later ROMS. Much cleaner than the stock one.

Dropbox is that.

If by chance you are talking about a drop box (notice the space) album in your gallery, that is where any photos that are added to picasa through a 3rd party app go. It has nothing to do with Dropbox the app.

Sorry you were insulted and/or offended, Azoller, but if you go back and re-read my posts, you'll see I said as much good things about your ROM as I did not-so-good things - and for most of the not-so-good things I was pretty clear that they were my opinions.

My apologies.

Azoller I don't have Drop Box. I'm trying 5.3 So far Installing V5.3 has eaten 6% of a newly charged 3800MA battery, and 5 mins of web browsing took it down to 90%. Wifi still turns itself on every opportunity it gets.

You're not going to get awesome battery life and awesome performance at the same time (though the stock ROM does a great job at having crappy battery life and mediocre performance!).

Not trying to pick on you but I rather disagree with that. Before switching to ICS I was running Broken Out with the custom kernel, blitzkrieg I believe. I got no lag on the phone running 7000+ antutu benchmark scores and getting about 30 hours of battery life. I would say that's pretty impressive performance and battery life.

This was my first anTuTu benchmark on any of the icy fusion ROM's but will be doing them from now on as a comparison.

@Stackrat: I would suggest wiping data, cache, and dalvik and flashing 5.3. Google Now doen't work (you don't like it anyway) When clicking the speaker for searching on the homescreen choose Voice Search and set it to default. It works great.

Testing how to uninstall inverted Gmail and install regular gmail for you now.

an update on the new version, i added some more inverted apps and different init.d tweaks and build prop tweaks, added some cool new launchers only have 3 launchers, added some cool new mods, and also have done some blue themeing, and also updated a few more things, and lots more to come in the next few days, will probably release it thursday or friday, maybe even saturday(for the themeing to be finished)

Stackrat it worked.

I went to Rom toolbox and froze gmail. Then I uninstalled it. Restarted my phone. Installed gmail from play store. It started syncing and force closed immediately. Opened it up again and it had synced all my email and has been receiving email normally.

Where are you doing the blue themeing?

AZOLLER: I have removed my recent posts. I apologize for what I said and how I said it.

For what it's worth, I've got a lot of crap going on in my personal life. My wife had back surgery two weeks ago and is still in a lot of pain (and that's only just one example). After thinking about it, I realized that I was taking some of my "frustration with life" out on you. Again, I am sorry.

I still don't like the inverted apps, though! :p But I really wasn't blaming you for them, just frustrated that I hadn't been able to remove the inverted GMail from the ROM myself. You're doing a hell of a good job with the ROM.

BLUERACER: Your patience with me and willingness to help me out is what made me realize I was the one being an ass. Thank you.

I would really appreciate it if both of you would remove your quotes of my posts.

Its all good sorry if you felt like I attacked you I guess I just got angry but its all good now! Thanks blue racer for trying the gmail thing!:)

I hadn't thought about freezing it first. I'll have to give that a try when I get some time again.

You had every right to get defensive. I would have done the same if I were in your shoes. ...and in the past few weeks, it would have been much, much worse! Thanks for your forgiveness.

it's easy to replace the inverted apps with stock ones. Just go to system/apps folder and drop the apk in there and reboot and you'll have the new apk. DO NOT INSTALL IT LIKE OTHER APPS

When I first started using eclipse I didnt like the inverted play store (which I actually like now) and I just downloaded the latest play store off xda and dropped the play store apk in system/apps and then rebooted and boom! I had the stock play store again.

I must thank neph for teaching me this though, because I kept trying to install the apk and it wouldnt work :p and neph showed me the proper way to do it.

I actually tried that first and it didn't work. In hindsight, I think the issue was that I probably had a version mismatch between GMail 4.2 and 4.2.1. I think if I had frozen the app first, cleared the app data and cache, then replaced it - it probably would have worked.
